I did actually have ear wax plug my ears, and the X3's were loud enough even then, so you're right. That said, defects do happen. My Tarah pro's came broken. Doing "PST" popping noises, and their refund process is basically broken right now, so yeah.
When you put the earbuds together magnetically, they pause your music, will play again when you take them apart and will auto power off if you don't in 15 min. I love mine. I wear them over the ear and they are secure as hell while I hit the racquetball around. Sound great too with the personal EQ ability within the app. Love these. Battery life is phenomenal. Bought them two months ago. Best Buy and Crutchfield sell them as far as I know.
@@dsertwq just search for the preset called for "High Def Audio" with the bike picture. Its the best preset on the app. The whole community is using that if you want a clear/punchy sound that is balanced and you will get louder sound also but quality!
J G Not the best for me, when I set for running, and the mic ends up behind your ear. But I LOVE the ruggedness, sound quality, charging speed and battery life, & eq software.
I really appreciate you took the time to learn about the product. I’m soo sick of review and unboxing videos where they have no idea what they’re talking about
Okay a year late, but I found a pair of these on the sidewalk! They sound great, I like their app, the sound and fit is great after I bought new tips and a charging cradle for a total of $40. Will be buying their totally wireless buds.
What I really like about Tarah pro beyond the review comments is the cable ergonomic design. The cable seems to be made our of non-adhesive material that does not pull the ear buds out of your ears while moving around or exercising. Really unique compared to the rest of the models.
Its a badass product, ive always had jaybird since x2, but this pair of tarah pro is the best. Omly draw back is where they connect on magnet, it starts to fade where the magnet sticks...
I have ben with jaybirds since the first pair and they are still good but only for a period of time. My longest running pair with were the X3 lasted for one year and 3 months before one of the speakers went out and I needed a REPLACEMENT. I have been going through this process for 5 years and they still are having the same issues as all the others before them. My advice, save you money and buy a cheap headset with good don't system.
Love it except for the call quality. Callers on the other end always say they have to turn up the volume really loud. Sound filter for ambient noise is poor as well. I like everything else though.
I'm not happy with the connection time. From the time you hold down the button, until hearing sound, it takes 10 to 11 seconds. Too long. I would also like an audible disconnection like the Bose
Bought the X4, had intermittent bluetooth, the rubber was sticky during activity, just didnt like them. Swapped for the Tarah Pro. No regrets, solid so far
The rubber cable sticks to my sweaty neck when I run and pulls the bud from my ear when I turn my head. I bet this braided cable will not do this. May have to buy these
I have the same issue with my x3's. I shorten the cable and switched to over the ear and i think i finally have them adjusted so they don't grab the back if my head.
Have x3s and adjust them not to grab. I like the stickiness of the cables as in the gym between sets If I need to talk to someone I can hang them around my neck out of ears and they stay put even when moving around. Hate that charging dongle though!
I absolutely love my pros they are amazing I came from an lg pair and never heard of Jaybird but took the swing on getting them and Iv never had a better pair
hello has headphones jaybird tarah pro I have a problem headphones after 40 minutes they turn themselves off or there is a way to turn it off please help
Excellent video. I almost feel like buying. But I have a terrible experience with three generations of Jaybird. Could you tell me if they have solved the battery problems after a few months of use?
The best buy in my area must only sell defective jaybirds then because I just got the Tarah pros 2 days ago and they just stopped working...same issue I had with the x3s before....will definitely be getting my refund tommorow.
I really really need to know how they are when using them to talk on the phone. Can I walk and talk without background noise? Can the other person hear me clearly in all conditions. PLEASE HELP
I just bought these. I have question: when im using these I experience a lot of "cable noise" and I can actually hear evertime I take a step when out running. It is quite annoying and I've tried the different bud sizes, but nothing seems to help me. Any suggestions? :O
Great review 👍👍👍 .... But what about when taking a call?? I just got mines like 2 days ago and every time I answer a call I can barely hear the other person!!!! Is that a common thing or is my unit defected????
Proprietary charging cable!!! What a HUGE mistske.. Difficult, if not impossible to find spare eargels (looks like they are available on Jaybird site but they are not in stock once you order).
Why don't any of these headphone reviews mention anything about sound isolation ? You would think a "sport" headphone would prioritize sound isolation yet all these reviewers barely mention them....
King of Eden actually having it fully isolated makes it potentially dangerous in certain situations. Hence some of types actually allow for background noise in for that purpose.
Sean Agleham I have to agree with on this one. First thought I’d appreciate zero background noise before purchasing them. However, now Ive notice myself constantly checking my surrounding every second. Which distracts me from task at hand...
Hopefully they fixed the charger method on these ones. The older models have charging issues or don’t work. The support change you the headphones but buying Jaybirds knowingly in advance you’ll have the 50% chance you’ve to call customer support to replace them only for the charging factory’s issues with its method is really bothersome. I’ll wait for the customer’s reviews to see if this magnet system finally fixed the long time charging method because I love them for the sound and connection
They messed up with that cable clip. The X3's have clips to make the cable sit flush against the back of your head. Now you got this loop. That's a downgrade.
@@jkahan go on Amazon and look for Jaybird X3 clips or accessories. The same clips should work. Way better than that loose loop flopping around and shit.
These are now discontinued. Could you recommend a similar wireless and corded sport headphones? I do have the Bose Soundsport but they're not loud enough.
Unlike my X3s, the Tarah Pro doesn’t connect to 2 devices at the same time ( the Tarah does, though). This would have been a deal breaker for me if I had known this before my purchase. Unfortunately, my country doesn’t have the same return policies as in the US.
Arro Senal hey, how do you feel about the earphones reliability? I’m considering the Tarah or tarah pros and my main concern with earbuds is reliability; is like them to last 3 years at least; I’m pretty careful with how I use my tech so I hope that these earbuds are okay
azure8117 they have been reliable for me and someone I know has owned them for a while , I have the 2 year warranty on mine , I don’t see why you wouldn’t get a 2 year warranty on any headphones you purchase , but I have the black pair of the pros and had them for a while and I work with them everywhere , in dusty areas too and they still look brand new and got no dirt on them , quality is even better 👍🏼
Alright, so how’s the mic quality on these with an iOS device? I’m planning on using these for workouts and calls, but if they aren’t good mic wise, I’ll go with the Powerbeats3
The thing I hate about wired bluetooth headphones is that if I want to only have one bud in my ear the other bud will slide down and pull. I know they come with a clip but that’s just inconvenient.
Is it Worth changing from the x4s as mine constantly cut out whilst I'm at work and was going to change them out for another brand . Is it a noticeable difference in connectivity between the different models as the Tarah pros are now Bluetooth 5.0
I bought the tarah pro. I am having some ploblems with. The Same problem I had at my X2. Connecting Bluetooth issue. When I am listening, the music cut sometimes and this is annoying. I thought that will be fixed in tarah pro. I changed and pick another one thinking was one specific problem. But I think is a problem in all jaybirds kkkk Now, live with this problem. And hope some day they fixed this with software I love jaybirds products
@@honkhogan21M I am using a pixel 3. And test it and 2 iPhones. I am using for quite some time now. And just sometimes this problem is happening. I am trying to not pay attention to
Quick question not following the video. If you heard the Megaboom 3 and Jbl xtreme 2 in real life please give me an answer to this! So, I have an Xtreme 2 and it sounds very good, with it the bass being so nice and clean while being powerful but not harsh, if that made sense. On the box it says the lowest frequency is 55hz and also on the megaboom 3 it also says 55hz. The xtreme 2's bass is very powerful and I can get it to 45 Hz at the very lowest. Anyway, I want to know if you can actually hear the has of the megaboom 3 and not like table vibrating bass that basically jsut seems like a vibration snd not actual bass. Over only got that kind of crappy bass from other UE speakers and real bass from JBL speakers. Is the Megaboom 3's bass as strong as the xtreme 2? Its probably not but is it even close??
Not having AAC is strange and I was going to mention it but decided not to. But I think the Tarahs have 5.0 cause they're a new product from the ground up where as the X4's are mostly a redesigned X3
Mine is not charging after the initial use, and during the time I was using them, it constantly cuts the sound..I would appreciate the help to resolve this
@@thisgustin no unfortunately its not charging still, I contacted the helpdesk but their service is a joke, all possible troubleshooting steps i've done it all, to be honest i dont know what to do
Mark Wallace thanks man. I like everything i hear about this earbud but i gotta know if its loud. A buddy had some soundsport wireless and couldn’t really get the music pumping
Mark Wallace i am thinking of buying this product. If you turn this to the max volume as soon as you switch on these earphones how much would be the battery life.
Can anyone suggest which model would be best for comfort based on the last time I tried Jaybird was the X3 and there was no way I could be comfortable with them in my ear canal. Are the newer Jaybird options more comfortable? The tips look more like the Bose style tips now which rest on ear canal as opposed to being pushed in. I am looking to pair headphones to a Garmin Fenix 5 plus. Thanks
You should have mentioned that if you have a Bluetooth 5.0 device, you could play on two 5.0 bt earbuds at the same time so you could theoretically watch content with someone on a single device which is a cool plus.
I owned the jaybird x3's lost a pair and replaced em. Over the holiday season I exchanged them for the apple air pods. Worst decision ever. I then exchanged the airpods for the Jabra Elite 65T actives and I couldn't be happier. Go Jabra imo.
Thank you my friend. I have been looking for the perfect truly wireless Earbuds for me and I decided on the jabras so I'm glad that you like them over other Earbuds I've tried and considered
John Davis In terms of pure sound quality ignoring all the other factors what sounds better , the Jabra elite active 65t or jaybird x3. As I currently have the x3’s and want to go truly wireless but would rather have the best sound over truly wireless
Went from the jabras to these as they are much more comfortable and have more bass while also being a little louder and water/dust proof... biggest problem with the jabras is the fit as they can hurt your ears and second they don't have much bass is skip the jaybird true wireless completely
@@sohogen8482 Did you have the Jabra Elite 65T? Jaybirds starting hurting my ears after a few hours. These Jabras are super comfortable to me. For me it's always been how secure of a fit are the actual earbuds. I use the largest size that came with them and they feel and sound awesome the bass is great.
@@Jaydizzle23chi yes had the actives and they were VERY uncomfortable and have you tired any others? Also tried the jaybird wireless and even those had more bass and the Bose handsfree outright have much better overall sound they did have the best quality when it came to calls though hands down
They suck. Sorry. They're worse than the X3's. That said, my X3's didn't frustrate me. In fact, due to this, I'm returning my Pro's and buying a couple X3's instead.
@@TheDarkchylde Is there a non truly wireless bluetooth sports earbud, that is decent sounding, dosnt fall out of ear, and people can hear you on calls 90% of the time. I think that is why airpods are good?
@@sidharthmahotra I have the Bose Soundsport and even though I've tried to find something better. I still can't. They're bulky but they don't fall out.
@@sidharthmahotra yeah the Bose Soundsport. I've tried not to like it but the features are just better. The only thing the Jaybird does better is the build.
I noticed that the cable on TARAH PRO is made with some sort of fibric, which will absorbs sweat, so is that cable washable? like if i run the cable under slightly hot water with dish soap will it stand it?
They are rated to be submerged for 30 minutes under a meter or so. Washing is probably fine, soap as well. I recommend you use cold or mild water though. Hot water might melt the waterresistent glue in the joints, or affect the battery into unusability rendering the hole thing near as dead. That said. The braid is not a feature I enjoyed. It rubs on stuff an the noise transfers directly into your ears. It tangles pretty badly, and it weighs the buds down some.
Honestly, i still wouldn't buy anything from jaybird again. Went through 2 sets of jaybird run's in 2 months. They always had sinking issues, app crashed constantly making the EQ features worthless and jaybird even replaced them for once. I've had most major brands of headphones over the years and some great budge headphones. Jaybird fell short on pretty much ever measurable.
Does anyone know if these will worked paired up with an older iPhone 5? It will be about 6 Months before I get a new iPhone so I am kinda stuck with an iPhone 5. I know that my X3's work awesome with the IPhone 5...I hope these do as well.
It has it in spades IPX 7 rating. That said, Bluetooth doesn't pass through water, and they strictly advise against showering with them, so by that point, it's not really giving extra value over the cheaper, better sounding, simply sweat proof X3's
The battery keep depleating over time. In some point from 100% to 0% within 1 hour (after using 3 month). Mine still under one year warranty and manage to get the manufacturer replaced it twice and still, same problem WTF!!!!!. overprice unreliable product..I never ever buy from Jaybird again..
They're not. X3's are better in all but battery. If you need extra battery, buy a spare, and swap between two X3's. That way you get extra durability as well.
TigerTT incredibly important to have magnetic chargers of this kind when going for durability and IPX7 rating water resistance. Kinda weird that they have a different one for each of the earphones, though.
@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx5 I have them too. I'm returning them. They have a stellar battery, and everything else is average, not worth the price. Two X3's is a better deal. You get twice the battery since you always keep one charged, and you get twice the durability cause you wear each one less. When the first one breaks, you're not immediately wired again.
@@Magnus-pm7ic Different, not better. Although personal preference always plays a part in this discussion. I really enjoy the bass of the 3X's. That said I wouldn't produce music with them. They color the sound in a way I like. Basicaly they add bass. The Tarah pro's, have a flatter response curve. And I believe, slightly more pronounced stereo separation (my X3's only function in one ear now, so I can't do A, B tests on that front). The eartip noise cancelation is the same. All this gives them more of an openback feel. If you prefer less bass boost, and an openback feel you may enjoy them too. Objectively, they're on the same level. But price wise, the pro's are overpriced. They also have the braid which causes a lot of friction noises, where the X3's have less of an issue. That's why I consider them average. The pro's are not an upgrade to anything but battery life. But the way they turn off by them self's to preserve battery isn't my cup of tea. And if you buy two X3's that's also a battery upgrade, and also a durability upgrade. Also, Jaybird's customer support is pretty crap right now. The told me my refund could take "several months". Just so you know, mine came with a fault, they do "PST" noises from time to time, that's the real reason for a return. And also, I believe all Jaybird products suffer from random shut downs. I've had that with all three of the buds I've got from them.
@@Hxarh thanks for the walk through. I just lost my x1 now I am trying to decide what to upgrade to. The x3 and x4 seem to get terrible reviews on Amazon , what happened to their quality? I know it's bad because they don't even sell their top of the line pro on Amazon.
@@Magnus-pm7ic They don't sell on Amazon, cause they don't wanna give them a cut any sooner then they have too. Also, I heard they have a deal with Best buy. The X3's appeared on Best buy first as well. I enjoyed my X3's. They have problems of their own, but my experience is mostly positive. The pro's kinda suck, though so I'd recommend X3's. Just know that if you ask for a refund, their process is broken, and it will take ”several months"
