Still loving the resonator mod you did on my S3. I’ve been EQT stage 1 and 2 for the last several years on both my GTI and S3 and absolutely love the tunes. I was JB4 on the GTI prior as well. Really want to go vortex XL on the S3
The only downside to going with the Vortex XL is our lack of e85 availability around here. That’s actually my next video in the pipeline, high horsepower longevity & preventative maintenance/mods.
Hey Jake! Awesome video as always. I loved your video about the top 10 mods for the MK7 and it has let me on the path for my dsg gti. I just purchased an EQT TCU/ECU tune and I’m wondering how necessary engine/transmission mounts are at that power level? I do already have a BFI torque arm insert thanks to your recommendation. Appreciate your input.
Not necessary, but it’s a one & done mod that’ll last the life of the car if you add the BFI engine & transmission mounts. The OEM ones are prone to fail at shockingly low mileage, which only gets worse the more power you add. As an added bonus the additional NVH is minimal and gained traction is noticeable.
Coming from JB4, can confirm that it doesn't void the warranty. I ran the JB4 for 15k miles on an aggressive map 6 for last bit. Getting a replacement head currently and looking into EQT tune. My main gripe is how unhappy my dsg seemed with the jb4.
