You are an actual god, my man. Thank you. For those of you out there that don't have soldering tools, I held an opened up paperclip in a pair of pliers. I heated the paperclip over a flame until it was red. I used a pair of tweezers with my other hand to clamp the wire tightly against the board while applying the hot paperclip to melt the glue. It reseated the wire well enough, and it's been working fine. Obviously use caution, and enlist the help of an adult if you're on the younger side because it takes some steady hands and can be dangerous
I just this on my Charge 3 that I've had for years. It started to crackle 2 days ago and got worse, took it apart & thought I would replace the speaker. I'm soooo glad I came across your video!!! Props to you for sharing 👏🙌👍. Now I got my speaker back with a quick fix.
Good shit man. Will do this. My speaker just start doing this. Only had it just over 2 months. The speaker lit for its price and size so I didn’t want to toss it. Crackles with bass kicks.
@@OGMeatball Glad it help man... however did end up buying the JBL boombox... its bulky but pretty sure I'll never have to buy another bluetooth speaker again... if anyone is thinking of getting a new speaker and got some extra cash I highly recomend
We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning ru-vid.comUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.
Thanks man! you're a life saver. Living in NZ and every single shop refuses to service JBL charge 3's now because its "outdated" or "obsolete". The manufacturer even provides no service to replace or fix which I think is ridiculous. I've heard of so many people with this exact issue on the model. Perhaps there's a business model for me here? might be some money in it! lol
@@moo117 I ended up having to order some new tweeter speakers from aliexpress and rip the JBL open and rewire the new ones into it. Works like a charm! Haven't had any issues with it since, and the sound quality didn't even really take a hit.
I searched for 20 min this video again just to make this comment... It really worked. In my case I just soldered the main cable to the one out of the driver's coil, then hot glued it to the speaker frame. It works like a charm now. Thanks!
Bro, thank you like I was looking for 2 hours and I was trying to think if I should order mini speakers parts to replace it. But, it was just the wires that were messing up. thank you so much you saved me a lot of money.
I was mad because mine started to crackle like 2-3 days ago and i'm glad that i'm not alone to face this trouble, i was about to buy another one but i'll try my best to fix it, thx dude
Thanks man... Just got mine fixed just AS YOU SAID Was the right side with that sound of broken speaker or blown... so i took off the speaker and turned it around to find a spot where the cable stays tight, wich is when it stops the sound and used CRC QD Electronic Cleaner that is my best friend when dealing with electrical issues like this one JBL Charge3 Works perfect again...
Thank you soooooo muchhhh dudeeee!! I was super worried, scared and I wasn’t sure about doing what you said, I was afraid I’d mess it up! But now I have fixed my JBL Charge 3 and it sounds amazing!!! You’re the best!
Dude Just used you tips! Thank for your help, harder part was to learn how to solder without making a mess, which I train a couple of times in older wires. Also make sure to buy solder wire with flux in it (I used 2% flux) Other Than that Pretty straight forward Thanks
NiceOne! Thank you bro i was planning to buy or convert new driver to my charge 3 but luckily i watch your video and Yes its working again like a brandnew MARAMING SALAMAT #fromphilippines
thank u soo much. glue in one of the two copper wire was melted.so the wire used to vibrate when bass kicks and hence the cause of crackling sound.i used super glue in that wire and worked perfectly fine.its working as a new speaker
Thank jeebus it's an easy fix...I got two Charge 3's last year and one started with the static/crackle. I did want to ask what you used to take off the waterproof cover, and if you think that it's water resistance is affected after reassembly?? Thanks for the vid man!!
@@santi6819 unfortunately not, I might have torn the speaker itself because of a drop. Ordered a new pair of speakers off AliExpress but they were too big to fit despite being 2" as the original ones get narrow quickly after the top part.
Have a Charger 2+, crackling sound on right speaker, took it out OK... what is that little copper wire called, sure does vibrate when music playing, cant see any tears on speaker itself, so will re-solder all like you did, any precautions? temp on soldering pen? should I be soldering on the inside of that copper wire... like inside the speaker where it joins to the driver? thanks for doing this type of repair, tks, greg
Gonna check this out today! Mine just started with a rattle/crackle I just couldn't figure out but never thought of the wire behind the connection tabs!
well ill be damned. tried this and it actually has improved the crackle immensely. First identify the problem speaker then find the connection that looks the loosest. recommend using the smallest soldering iron you can because of how inaccessible the connection is, but definitely give it a try. cheers great vid
Great suport mate, thanks a bunch. My charge3 died on me after about 2 weeks of classical musik on moderate level. I've just been asked by Buenabuy (means good buy which it obviously isn't) to return my Charge3 for service inspection. All costs on me, if they find any tampering, returned in original packaging with a copy of the original receipt..... = al BS to deter a segment of lesser spririted customers doing thier rightfull claim. Your video clearly shows what I was expecting and I reckon I'll use my energy on slandering the buggers warning everyone not to buy from buenabuy and fix the speaker myself.
I checked my connections on the speaker they were fine having this same issue thought it was the batt but i replaced the batt already do u think a cap on the board would cause this issue too?
My issue is the copper wire that’s inside the speaker cup I moved the wire and it worked better. Too bad mine isn’t where yours was. Thanks for the info. Amazon sells a replacement speaker for 9 dollars so I’ll just swap it out.
You are saving me $60-$70,as after soldering supplies my speaker roun up to about $35.For a Jbl Charge 3.dont have it yet but am getting it today. I say today because it is 1 am.
Sumtingwong Richard I had bought a Charge 3 on sale in the beginning of 2019 and the speaker had defiantly disappointed me. For the Charge 3’s high price, the quality is bad. Speakers such as the Sony SRS-XB30 series are a very large improvement over the JBL as they have clearer sounding bass, fun party functions, are louder, and can distribute power better, as they also are built from nicer feeing materials. Don’t buy JBL people! They’re Shit!!
JackSVR575BarrlyContent not true at all, You shouldn’t use speakers at 100% Volume. 40 to 60 % Volume is best for sound quality. Also the jbl charge is made like specially for a big battery.
JBLBASS I have tried with JBL over the years and have never gotten the speakers to work the way I’d like. In low frequency mode, even at volume 2 or 3 there would be a reasonably loud crackle. This had happened to a JBL Flip and a Charge I had returned within a week.
My JBL sorta does this, but only when the battery level is @ 3 bar. on bars 4 and 5, it still sounds good. Now I have to plug the speaker to a charging port whenever it reachest 3 bars since the lilttle static sound could already be noticed. I had the speker for about 19 months now.
When you re-solder the internal coil wire lead connection of the speaker you really have to be careful that the solder is not flowing further into the wire where it is vibrating, cause the the wire will tear down in time
Thank you but you did what I speak not English ??? Can't we see it on the video? I have the same problem on my loaded jbl 3 which also sizzles, it was the solder which is defective, is that correct you replaced the speaker or not ???
My left speaker just went out this morning . Static sounding , when I press down on the bass radiator it goes away . This is fucking ridiculous , I've owned 2 Jbl go and 3 Jbl clips and all have had charging issues or just stopped turning on . I figure I'll buy a bigger better speaker and now this , I've only had this bitch for two weeks
KnipeSteR YT nah I had to take it back and switch it out for another .... But this video does show you how to fix that problem . It's a defect with the speakers the wiring come loose ... JBL will fix it for you if you call them , you can send it back to them and they'll fix or replace . Depends how long you had the speaker I believe . But call them and find out man ! I took mine back to Walmart since mine messed up in the first week I had it
@@WtfBoomKed so I did it. And it worked like a charm. What I did? basically I unscrewed both speakers and check with music which one was really causing the issue. Sometimes it can be both so be sure of this first. If you can't tell wich one is causing it, it might be both. Then I payed attention on the soldering. It looked normal. Nothing out of place nor loose. Using a soldering pen (or whatever you call them in your country) and melted the soldering metal until it turned liquid. Do not remove it. Unless it looks dirty and you can replace it with a new one, better keep it. Then moved around so the connectors where engulfed in it again and made sure all was in contact. My suggestion for this is, carefully do this and then play music again. I did not noticed any significant changes but screwed them back carefully not to push them too much against the plastic. The rule is "not tight". PRO TIP: After putting it back turn it down. Now Turn it on. Wait until it's on then long press at the same time the Bluetooth and volume down for about 10+ seconds and release. One of the 5 lights will turn red. You'll notice. Play music and you'll see it sounds diferent. That turns the bass boost on and off. Sometimes that affects. Do it until you hear it the way you most like it. Profit.
bro needed some help mine also left speaker got some crackling when bass boosted song came but when i look inside wire seems all things r fine dont know what to do
I don’t know how to solder but what I did is I stuck cotton in between that copper wire to reduce the vibration created by the speaker so the cotton holds the copper wire in place reducing the buzzing noise... it’s just a temporary fix because I don’t know how to solder.
