Thank you so much Howard! My JBL3 was crackling at the higher volumes. I just removed the cover as you have shown, and immediately I could see two small pieces of black steel shards; hardly wider than a human hair, standing vertically upon the left speaker center cup. I switched-on the unit and turned-up the volume, and those metal shards danced noisily up and down on the speaker, held in place by the magnetism of the speaker. After I switched off the unit, I carefully removed them with a fine needle-nose plier, Viola! Problem solved! I’m guessing these fine metal pieces were left-over from the manufacturing process. Again, thank you for your very helpful instruction!❤️🙏🏻❤️
Good video- thanks for the tips. I was able to fix a friend's Charge 3, which had a buzz on higher volumes. I checked several things covered here, but it turned out that rotating one of the speakers a fraction of a millimeter then re-tightening the screws fixed it~! (no, they weren't loose to begin with) I'm theorizing the rubber gasket had perhaps compressed over time. Hope this helps someone.
This is good to know video, for a just in case 🤗, cause I just bought a charge 4 in March, it’s still brand new basically and haven’t used it at high volume levels... thanks my man
I love this video it’s the most informative step-by-step you did a great job young man kudos for you and happy Thanksgiving and God bless you and your family and friends ✝️✝️✝️
Thank you! This solved my last problem. Ended up replacing the charge port, battery and now the crackling is gone too. Had no idea that it could just come off by itself, Goddamnit JBL.. This part isn't as simple as that actually.. I had to adjust the magnet with bassy music playing to find the correct position, otherwise it would crackle.
Hi, sorry for my english... so I understand that for fixing it (the weird noise) I have just to "glue" the magnetic parts of the speaker? Thanks in advance!
Thanks Man! Just fixed mine and it sounds great. You just saved Me $100 in replacing it. I use mine on the bike trainer or outdoors all the time. Again, thanks!!!
I thought I ruined my speaker because I was listening to music on the highest volume and then the bass sounded off and it sounded like a crackling rattling sound from on of the speakers and I was very upset but I started digging and found this video it helps so much, but do I need to buy a replacement speaker part to completely replace the damaged speaker or just glue the part you did
I really like this Howard, thanks. I took my speaker apart last night but didn’t know what to do once I got in. There! After watching your vid, I’ll have another gander today.
@@sorchajones1788 I did a re solder and didn't fix it. The battery of the speaker it's dead, so I think the cracking noise from the speakers it's because of the lack of power, so I'll buy a new battery and try if not well I'll buy new replacement speakers for the JBL
@@sos.gamers how did fitting your new battery go? I just went in to fixing again and after making a bodge fix, saw a video, where the lithium battery had swelled and broken it’s casing, causing the vacuum to be broken. I expect you’ve seen this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AZeOlHrxKpc.html I checked my battery after the bodge. There was no breakage / swelling. My bodge fix was some sponge behind the speakers. The vibrations have stopped. I can have the speakers loud again. I maybe should have glued but I’d forgotten about your video. Any more problems and I’ll go in with some strong plastic glue that I got from the builders’ store. Or maybe you’ve come up with something else since, which I can check out.
mine is a charger 2+ has same issue, one fixer said the wire used from speaker coil to driver is too ridgid, needs to be more flexible, he used wires used in headphones, said it will handle low vibrations much better... anyone know what that interlaced braided like wire called and where you might get a little of that? great video, and thanks
My speaker has no glue problems. After opening the speaker up, I have to press down on the left speaker to get it to play audio. Is that just a bad left speaker ?
I have a charge 4 and I’ve had it for a while, I took it apart cuz I wanted to make it into a bigger Bluetooth speaker with bigger speakers and I accidentally touched the speaker wires together and it shut off and now it won’t turn back on, and when I try to turn it on all that happens is the last 2 leds of the charging lights on the bottom turn on and nothing else happens, how would I go about fixing that?
Bro , mines was crackling right. The silver backings you took off are not loose or show no sign of seepage. So how is that the cause of the crackling. Can I show you the pics? I just turned my old broke one back on and its still making the crackling sound when turned on.
Hello i have different problem can you help me please i think its not problem with glue the silver think hang good but big crackling cant be listen and if i push on the speaker the crakling stop but how i can fix it please?
You need to re-solder the little wires that are attached to the speaker. I mean the easy to reach (!) wires, where the plastic-covered wire goes onto a small plate and behind that goes further as bare coper wire. The connection between those two wires is fck'd and need soldering
To be more precise, the wires comming from the motherboard towards both speakers are soldered to the copperwires inside the speaker. One of those cables has a faulty connection. You already found out what speaker was the problem (you pressed on it to stop making weird noises) so that speaker has one faulty wire. Re-solder the connections of this one. You can test it by keeping the faulty speaker out and turn on the favorite Bass-rich song that creates Noise. Now carefully wigle with one wire at the time. If the noise stops you found the right (faulty) wire that needs fixing
@@n.rivals3244 my warranty was still valid, but JBL doesnt take care. Its the seller that takes Care of this, in Europe at least. And my seller sended me a digital paper i had to print and fill in to be able to send back. But in this case i first had to buy a printer to be able to print the Quarantee Form so.. Nvr mind.. I just fixed it myself
This sounds like a battery issue. Even though it reads ‘fully charged’ (all five lights lit), the battery is most likely not able to hold a full charge and is not feeding enough power to handle the low frequencies. Not sure how old your JBL is, but with constant use, my battery stopped holding a full charge eventually. You can order new batteries on line for under $20, and there’s a video on opening it up for replacement. Hope this helps.
@@CadidPixelNetwork it also makes a crackling sound when i put it to the low frequancy mode. If you could help me out i would be thankful if not its all good
One of the two speakers on my charge 3 is broken and on low volume (30-40-50%) it gives bad sounds so I need to replace it, just the left one so if anyone knows from where can i buy one of them and I need original one, not fake, please just left a link in comment, thanks alot
Okay buddy I did as u said “is not gonna break nothing and well one of the clamps is broken now Because u have to open a little bit in the back and unscrew the clamps so it won’t break I learned today to never to exactly as the videos say...
The silver cap is the reason was it was crackling or giving weird feedback noises. That peice came off by itself. Its magnetic with glue around it. No steps were skipped.
@1:35 he says dont be scared of breaking there are ‘clamps’ lol, I remember opening the cover from behind with a knife and then you reach the front through the two screws that release your-so-called ‘clamps’ without the need to break it, too bad I forgot that and followed your ass into breaking those clips and needing to use glue like a chump.
Maan the charge 3 is really better than the 4 I got one and started putting my ear up to it and realized there was only one speaker when the 3 has what I expected the 4 to
We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning ru-vid.comUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.
Welp my jbl charge 2 Plus Driver has a torn spider the other driver on the right i tried to fix with super glue except it just got stuck and it wont move
So I'm gonna tell the exact problem so a few months ago I gave my friend well was once a friend my speaker to use and he put water in the speaker so now it's just crackling when the bass hits and when is on loud volume
⚠️⚠️⚠️Help me Bhai mera JBL charge 3 speaker hai jiska aawaz thik se nhi aa rha hai, meine usko pura khol ke dekha toh Battery ke upar ka cover craked hua hai, shayad Battery fug gya hai isiliye..aur speaker se thoda fatne ka aawaz aa rha hai...
Do you know that when I turn it on it makes a buzzzzz on the speakers. They changed the battery, the same one and it started working 10 points, but a week later it started making that horrible wasp sound again and at certain frequencies the same thing. I looked and looked and tried but nothing to make it sound good. But surprise, I loved it again one of the 10 times I did it and it started to work much better again, very rare!!! I calculate that it has to be without air, super well isolated from the interior. Maybe if I make some gaskets out of some material like rubber or leather, I can achieve this isolation again and it won't fail anymore. As close to the original material as possible. If that's the case, I'll let you know and leave the message here. Greetings!!!! I don't think I've found the solution, anyone has it, but I imagine the thing has to be super closed so it doesn't vibrate and works well.
if bass crackles: in my case its one of the 2 golden cables that are going into the membrane of the speaker (my problem is at the right speaker), one of the 2 copper cables vibrates too hard, so the bass crackles, i hope i can fix it with silicone. Hope i helped someone with this comment
This kinda help...what I did is put something between the copper wire n the frame so that when it vibrates the copper wire won't touch anything causing the vibrations

OK I'm at 3:23 now. Bro I did this. I messed round and let BOTH speakers touch each other and the magnetism caused BOTH speakers not to produce ANY sound. So I bought another one out of madness. Now the 2nd one is CRACKLING, wth is up with JBL!??! So this time I'm trying to fix the 2nd one.
I was having this crackling sound and tried to fix the speaker but it was OK. So I saw this video and I realized the problem was the battery ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-agtPEkqDAnQ.html So to replace the battery I checked this video and now it works like a charm! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YagDshB6B48.html Good luck!
This is wrong and not helpfull at all, because the magnet is not fixed perfectly. You can’t center the magnet like that so the coil won’t be able to move. That speaker is still damaged
@@CadidPixelNetwork you can’t repair a speaker properly without fixing the magnet exactly on the center of the core. This is impossible just by glueing the magnet in place.
