I just bought the flip 4 with the purpose of listening to spotify through my Ipad. indoors or outside in the garden and it fits my needs perfectly. I'm thinking about buying another Flip 4 so I can connect both to the Ipad

When the second song started playing (jingle punks - don’t hate me) , that’s when fell in love with charge 3. I love the deep , kind of muddy sound , people say that for the highs flip 4 is better , but in my opinion, for me charge 3 is the way go. They’re both awesome speakers , in the end it just really comes down to taste.

Thanks for this review. Been doing a lot of investigation into Bluetooth speakers as I'm looking for something to use with my 2018 MacBook Pro while on the road. At this point I've pretty much have it narrowed down to the JBL Flip 4 or JBL Charge 3 and keep going back and forth between them. I'm not looking for something to fill the outdoors around a pool, but more like something better and louder than the "built in" speakers of the laptop. What I'll probably being using it for mostly is listening to audiobooks and some music. What would you suggest?

Hmmm, maybe try playing at 50%? At that point, no bass reduction or compression has started. At 80% lots of these kinds of things are the case.

Would the flip 4 beef out the missing highs and mid's missing in the charge 3 if joined using connect? I have just bought the charge 3 and while it is a good speaker with all the bells and whistles I feel the highs and mid's fall short. Good speaker tho

Have you updated the firmware of the Charge 3 before the comparison? There are some people saying that they were going to return the Charge 3, but after they made the update it sounded better / cleaner than the Flip 4 at low volumes. I am in between the two, still to make a purchase.

Well done! Thank You! That would be nice to hear these comparisons with at least 2 levels of volume, for example: 40 and 80% or 50 and 100% Anyway you did a good job! For the speakers... Well flip 4 sounds cleaner and more balanced, while charge 3 lacks hights. Charge 3 seems to be better allarounder, with more punch and better battery life, while flip 4 is exellent for bikes and smaller rooms, companies. Both are great speakers.

Bottom line for these speakers The jbl flip 4 is for people who are looking for a portable speaker that love mids and highs and a decent amount of bass and the flip 4 I think would be generally suited for classical music The charge 3 is more suited for people who are looking for a nice punch in their music as well as a powerbank for a couple extra dollars

Good, I have a question I had before the flip 3 and could connect it with my 3 charge, but now that I have the flip 4, I can not connect it to my 3 charge, is it a flip 4 problem or can not it?

Charge 3 definitely has a more 'fuller' sound

I think Flip 4 was slightly higher so the sound does not come directly to the microphone as charge 3

You can get the Flip 4 if you really enjoy the sound of white noise.

I need help! I can't decide whether to take the JBL Flip 4 or the JBL Charge 3. I'm gonna take the speaker everywhere (country, pool, hikes, biking, beach, park, etc...), and throw it in my bag. Flip 4 is more clear but Charge 3 is more usefull. If you want to have a great sound, it’s flip 4 but if you want to charge your phones and listen music, it’s charge but I recommend flip 4 becuase the batters is hanging really long! 🤗

I like bass alot but I think the Flip 4 is much well balanced than the charge 3. Charge 3 has more bass but not balanced with the mids. I like both but I think I may consider the flip 4.

As far as it can be noticed in this recording Charge sounds more bulk, warm, busy and dirty. Flip sounds more realistic at mid/high but lack some deep low. Anyway Ch3 has obviously more bass, but I dislike such dirty bass... My voice for Fl4.

I'm using a EQ with my charge3. I also have two flip3's. C3 sounds better with the right EQ. AJS!
