JBL Xtreme2 is exactly the same Sound Quality as the Xtreme1. only differences is the Look and bigger band sleeve. I have Xtreme 1 more than 5years and i used a lot as my living suround system and as monitor box in the record studio. work perfect with android phone 📱 bluetooth. my Opinion: JBL Xtreme1 is the best audio invention
I have both. The originals probably have a little more punch, but in my opionion, it overpowers the mids and highs. The 2 seems to have more high fidelity. Richer mids and sharper highs, but more than enough bass. Also, I like the fact that the 2's are waterproof. You can actually float them in the pool, however, I don't plan on doing that with mine. If you more into bass heavy music, go with the originals. You can make a killer deal on them. I waited until the 2's came down to $225 and don't regret paying that much at all.

For people deciding to buy either Xtreme 1 of Xtreme 2, Yes the xtreme 1 has more of a bass kick and higer bass, but the bass of the Xtreme 2 sounds way more clear and has bass response on the lower frequencies. It also appeared that if you use an equalizer on spotify that you can max out the extreme 2 bass allot and while i’ve tried the same thing on the xtreme 1 it appeared that the bass has kind of like already maxed out so on the xtreme 1 the bass started stuttering you might say while the xtreme 2 boosted it to the max. This is all by it’s woofer size which is a bit bigger on the xtreme 2. Just buy the xtreme 2 it’s better trust me.
Xtreme1 is still the best specially at outdoor it has the trade mark sound that jbl has offered.. Xtreme2 is cleaner and detailed when it comes to sound but i prefer the xtreme1
If you want thumpy bass, Xtreme 1 might be "better". But if you want sound quality, overall accuracy, Xtreme 2 wins by a mile. Additionally, after you update the Xtreme 2 to its latest firmware, the sound quality improves even more due to slight EQ tweaks by JBL, and it also plays at the same loudness as the Xtreme 1. I have played both my Mk2 and Mk1 Xtremes side by side and the Xtreme 2 is the clear winner.
@@asilaydying1984 doubt it I'm pretty sure they're using the same batteries on the xtreme 1. I've replaced my unit once and a few days ago replaced my battery for an aftermarket one.
Trust me, between the two the JBL Extreme 1 sounds much better than the supposedly upgraded model 2. Plus, since they’ve come out with the Extreme 2, the JBL Extreme 1 can be bought for way cheaper for the same, if not better sounding performance. In my honest opinion, the JBL Extreme 2 is not worth the extra money over the Extreme 1for what little it provides.
I sold my extreme 2 to my friend and now I get an upgrade to JBL xtreme 3! The extreme 3 is party mini boombox compared to JBL boombox 2. The bass is cleaner and deep and the mids are clarity and the highs are very crystal so yeah worth an upgrade.
If you pull up specs on the two speakers on JBL's site they show that the Xtreme 2 frequency response starts at 55Hz vs the Xtreme at 70Hz. You can hear in this video that you are getting a fuller and richer bass experience on the Xtreme 2. The overall sound is more balanced on the Xtreme 2 but some may prefer the brighter sound of the original Xtreme. I personally like the fuller bass on the Xtreme 2.
Is used a non standard power connector because the internal better needs more power to charge it and a usb power connector doesn’t give enough power to charge the internal battery
It's not as you say, xtreme1 and xtreme2 are identical (Very good souns and very loud), they differ only in aesthetics, compatibility with other speakers, updates and price. For the rest they deliver all 2: 90db (Audio Engineer)
People talk about the xtreme 2 having the better quality sound. I think not. I have the xtreme 2 and then heard a friend's xtreme 1 which was much much better.

Hmm. I haven't heard of the battery problems. What are they? I still feel like it's a small price to pay since you could get a refurbished Xtreme on Amazon or eBay for around $100. Even cheaper than a new charge 4!
@@baconbitz121 well some units randomly stop charging the battery leds do not show the battery status right anymore and some units even burn up or explode i was also one of the lucky people with two perfect xtreme1s which got replaced with two xtreme2s after firmware 1.6 released and after firmware 2.0 its just crazy yes the xtreme1 is cheaper but as i said the dockin d fine is sometimes even cheaper and is on a level with the xtreme2 just not as deep bass no connect+ and no waterproffing

Great review. Thank you for doing this. I am going to go with the Xtreme 1. I like the sound better it is very crisp. I love bass I played the Trombone. I like a balance of the Xtrem 1 . I agree the bass on the 2 is great but I need balance.
JBL charge 3 is they're best speaker all around.. had the extreme 1, sold it.. upgraded from the flip 3 to the flip 4 to the charge 3 before hand.. thought I'd be happy.. the charge 3 has the dynamics and punch to compete.. extreme had awful run time, lack of bass at higher volume.. I currently have the charge 3 and 4.. I favor the sound of the charge 4 at low to moderate volume.. the charge 3 is my favorite overall.. pick one up, wont disappoint.. that's my opinion
The thing that X1 is louder and punchy is that passive radiator look how it's big than X2.. X2 is cleaner at deep.. But overall performance ill pick the x1
For me I'm a dancer and like a speaker I can take around with me that's loud and feels up the room and I manage to.get a deal.on the Xtreme 1 for £5.72 a month in the UK from Currys. I heard Xtreme 2 its heavier so carrying it around is not the same. Plus I like heavy bass so yeah think that works for me

Speakers need to be worn in to get their best and true sound. If this Extreme 2 is brand new off the shelf then the worn in Ex 1 will sound better every time. Give the 2 a few months to break in and it'll sounds much warmer.
I believe the xtreme 2 has an ipx7 "water proofing which the xtreme 1 does not. So it depends on your environment. I think the 2 sounds better i choose quality over volume every day.
Watching this review, Extreme 1 blew away the new model. Higher sound and clearer bass and highs. FYI, They both also have to be plugged into be charging to hear at their best. EXTREME 1 clear winner!
I have the exerme 2 and the bass goes deeper and deepat to. However the exerme 1 the bass goes even deeper and it goes a little bit lounder then the exerme 2.
Ya xtreme 1 is more louder than xtreme 2.,but if you plug in the power adapter on xtreme 2 there's an additional increase of power volume. I have booth xtreme 1 & 2, the problem of xtreme 1 is the battery.
Xtreme 2 sounds defenitely better. It sounds completely clean with nice open mids and smooth highs while being as loud as the first Xtreme. The first Xtreme sounds very boomy, has covered mids and sounds harsh.
I feel like xtreme1 sound brighter, clearer and louder. Also size and weight are lighter than xtreme2. But in my opinion, X2 is better in bass than 1. Conclusion is i like xtreme1 more for cheaper,lighter, louder and more powerful.

I have all of them and the charge 5 is the best so far for its size I was expecting more out of the xtreme series or even the 3 when for the boombox 2 it is the most bass of them all, inside the house you can feel the bass shaking doors
I've got the Xtreme 2 updated and the old Xtreme, I compared them side by side and my conclusion is that Xtreme 1 didn't stand a chance anymore🔥😂 just because of the boomy bass and sizzling treble makes it messy, by that the Xtreme 2 now with the newer update goes louder and even more deeper bass. So now, the Xtreme 2 is an overall improvement over the original xtreme
I also discerned that if Xtreme 2's firmware was updated prior to the creation of the video, it would have sounded so much better than Xtreme 1. Will get my Xtreme 2 tomorrow and I'm stoked af! Haha!
Update! Got the extreme one and I LOVE it! I don’t have an extreme 2, so I can’t compare in real life, just have this video. Maybe the extreme 2 is better, but I I’m super happy with my purchase as I was able to get the sound I wanted at the price I wanted to pay. Dope vid, both speakers rock and music is awesome!!! 🤘😎

Well honestly, I DIDN'T USE any JBL speakers or headphone. But from my laptop speaker, Xtreme 2 have more bass and sound better but Xtreme 1 is louder and softer. For me I personally choose Xtreme 2 cause it provides more bass and the sound quality is better (From my LENOVO laptop).
