A removable battery is great in theory however by the time the battery is degraded enough to be necessary to change, there will be some new must have upgrade that will make you want to change speakers anyway. Lets face it, a speaker is never really end of life before the next gen is out and most people will upgrade before a speaker is totally dead. The solid base is great but i dont like the chunkier shape. and every one is cutting corners and removing the 3.5 aux but there is always a scenario to need one . i use mine to portable dj on the go with a mixer thats does not lend itself to bluetooth. sticking with my xtreme 3 . sound difference is not significant enough to upgrade.
I have an Xtreme 2, and need a battery. The process is not economically feasible w the way it was done. Europe mandates via Law interchangeability w batteries.
I don't think the reason for the removable battery was intended that way..lets face it you're not going to get 24hr battery if you're blasting this thing on max volume..lets say you're having a backyard hangout and you're on max volume..you could have another battery on charge to swap out when one is dead..and have the dead battery charging while your party still going..in my opinion they mess up by removing the 3.5 but it's still a good buy tho..
@@trini_boi2414 your theory wont work because the only way to charge the battery is in the speaker itself. there is no external dock or usb port in the battery to enable it to be charged independently. . you would have to charge them both in the speaker then have one on standby

My friend recently got the Extreme 4, and we thought that the bass was very bad, but that was until we discovered that the aura cast button actually makes the bass substantially better. For some reason, when you turn aura cast on the bass just improves, even without you connecting it to another speaker via aura cast
But sir can any of those get a battery swap with ease? Or the "potential" to connect to partybox speakers 🤔. These are the real reason to consider such overpriced speaker. Lol tbh I'm still copping one of these when they come to the states.
Who wants to walk around with 3 change 5s that's 3 speakers you gotta charge up and every time you wanna play music they gotta pair 3 together? it's a hassle

bass is gone because u have to cut the subwoofer frequncies that the speaker is playing cause u have a speaker and not a subwoofer so u have a speaker thats playing sub bass when it shouldnt and is dirtying and distorting the sound of the speaker ikno it sounds good but it can sound way better and cleaner if u cut that muddy sub bass from it those sub frequencies are from 1hz to 100hz u cut those completly and if u cant cut em just lower em to the maximum minus db point from the EQ u are using most phones have 30hz 63hz 80hz and 125hz lower those frequncies completly and see how the speaker sounds sure thing way better than before but with less bass cuz no speaker should be playing subwoofer frequencies u have to find the right FREQUENCY of the speaker where it plays crystal clean and if u really care about this u prolly wanna find a serius EQ app so u can select specific FREQUENCIES or FREQUENCY or set the specific FREQUENCY u want the speaker to be playing from meaning for example to set the speaker to play from 100hz and above meaning anything below that is cut cause those are subwoofer bass frequencies that u wanna stay away from cuz u dont have a subwoofer but a speaker dont expect a speaker to give u that subwoofer bass u all want u just have to find the RIGHT FREQUENCY of the speaker u using man it might be 100hz and up might be 120hz and up might be 150hz and up it depends on many things like power and size of speaker sooo u all really wanna play with the EQ and with those low bass frequencies go do ur research on the internet about SPEAKER HIGH PASS FILTER and why is important and u will get wat i mean people im out and peace the fakout
In my opinion that 3.5 is a must have..and it's one only old tech that should always be present on Bluetooth speakers.. I won't say it's a deal breaker but it's nice to have..but on that note I'll still take the 4 for the removal battery and it sounds more brighter..i believe a lot of jbl fans would go with the 4 just to say they have the latest.. but the 3 is still a win tho .
I love my extreme 3. I like the 3.5 jack because I can use it as a monitor on my dj booth and the eq if it matters with probably be updated in the app eventually because when i got it it didn't even have a eq. And I have a flip 5 and 6, charge 5 extreme 3, Boombox2 and 3 and there is a place for all of them. 😁
@mVran I love both of those speakers. If you want the most out of one speaker, I would get the Extreme3, especially if you can find it on sale. I may get a second charge5 and play 2 charge5s together I think that will sound really good putting it is stereo. LOL I hope this helps. They are both great speakers.
I’ve seen the The Xtreme 3 for as low as $199 at Walmart. For that price, it’s a no brainer which one to get. I prefer the Charge 5 anyway. I have 2 and together, they sound amazing!
Bro I got JBL Xtreme 4 & it's sound lovely & it's still portable man! On review bring this outside & check it up! :) Boombox 3 is sound similar but more punchy base & greater sound but with bigger size. So, it's something for something. You want great sound & still be mobile? Bring Xtreme 4 to the game & crank it up baby!!! :)
Extremes have no handles but replaceable battery is a great deal and the audio blows you away when i got charge 5 for the first time it was great,had been waiting for a while to get me a new one.
In theory, since you are using a Samsung device, you can connect both devices to your phone. Then, you can use the media output button on your notification drop-down list, check both circles, and completely bypass the non-pairing between the Xtreme 3 and 4. I do not use this feature all the time, but I do use it frequently.
The sound quality of both of them isn't that great... I don't like neither one, That's why I tried buying the Xtreme 3 like four times and left. Xtreme 4 isn't better at all.... I hate all small bluetooth speakers., Big JBL Party Boxes are awesome, but not these small ones.

For me Xtreme 3 is a right choice - because: one button pair with my Boombox 3. Just this small thing, but make a big difference. Plus: Current sales of "old model" in Europe, make it more attractive. IF this will be my 1st JBL speaker - maybe I will buy Xreme 4, only because new DSP.
Everyone's says the xb43 is better than the xtreme 2 but when I tested it I prefer the jbl. It's louder and has better bass the sound quailty is about the same
The base disapears at high volumes cause you need to equalize the tweeters and mid and tone them down. Or face the speaker into a corner of a room on place it under a table to merg the sound. The xtreme 3 i never have facing twards where ill be listening to it from or theres no bass becuasd the bass is facing outwards, so of course you wont hear it its basicly multi directional. Gotta merg the sound with objects and walls to make it sound its best
Have you heard about the tribit brand if not you should try them. I just got the small speaker called tribit xsound plus 2 and it's fenomenal small but packs a punch for it's size. 30w 24h battery ipx7 it's sick

Xtreme never has "racetrack" drivers (speakers) They always use round one with 2+2 configuration (2xhigh, 2xmid-low) Last 2 generations of Charge, Flip has this solution. And ... Boombox 3 ;)
Motion Boom Plus is the best boom box I have ever had.😂 At quiet 4. I'm had the quiet 3. It sucks big time. Hardly even loud. The extreme 2 is way better than the 3 which I should have never sold
The xtreme 4 has a powerbank, you can charge anything using the usb c port on it just like with the xtreme 3. But imo it isnt an upgrade imo the xtreme 4 is just a refinement over the xtreme 3.
