When I first rebuild the engine in my bug. I had no idea this was a thing. My 437 was cleared for this. And I thought I had even more issues than a rod bearing. But hey, bug and learn 😂
If you’re referring to jacking points, the front can be lifted just between or just behind the control arms from the chassis. The left or right sides can be lifted by the factory jack points just behind the door openings and the rear can be lifted at the rear torsion housing.
There are 2 bolts and two studs that hold the engine to the transmission. Once the bolts and nuts are removed, the engine can be pulled back from the transmission and then lowered down.
day late, dollar short, but yes, the 4 bolts (lower 2 studs, and that odd one at the starter), they come out, and if you wiggle the engine, it should pop free. But by now, I am sure you gotten it done !
