@repairvehicle Thank you for all your help! It is most appreciated! I looked up the AISIN AFW+, but it seems like it is equally as difficult to get in North America, so I guess I have to go with the other options. I took your lead and tried looking into things a bit more and have some more questions. I'm wondering if you could explain in more detail why Toyota TYPE-IV is recommended. Is the logic that since Daihatsu is owned by Toyota, they most likely use the same fluid? Also, my understanding is that TYPE-IV is for older Toyota vehicles before 2005, but since my Daihatsu is 2007, wouldn't that make it more likely to use WS? . Additionally, I see that AISIN AFW+ directly lists AMMIX ATF D3-SP, so it would for sure be compatible, but it also lists both Toyota TYPE-IV and WS, so it doesn't seem like we can logically deduce from the AISIN AFW+ specs as to whether AMMIX ATF D3-SP is a TYPE-IV or WS. I think ultimately I would like to use AMSOIL since it seems to have an excellent reputation and is readily available. I just need to doubly confirm whether the OEM fluid is a TYPE-IV or WS. Thanks again in advance! (Coffee bought!)

The reason for recommending type 4 is because it replaced Type 3 with slightly better performance numbers. You are correct for US market Toyota started to use WS since 2007. However did Toyota use WS in other markets with other vehicles? I don't know. If you can find out what is the transmission number/code name maybe we can figure it out exactly what fluid should be used there. Based on the info Aisin provided it has very large span that covers specs for older and never transmissions, is their specs true? I doubt. So, the question remains answered, what fluid to use? I would look under the vehicle to see the brand of the transmission and name code and then I would be able to determine exact fluid type, but at this point your guess is just as good as mine, Type 4 or WS can be used.

used Amsoil ATF in JDM SVX 1996 and NA SVX 1992, perfectly fine.

I would definitely use the Amsoil ATF. I used to also use their motor oil, but there are cheaper and good quality options available
