FUN FACT: Jean-Claude Van Damme isn’t just an onscreen fighter. He was a professional kickboxer between 1977 and 1982, compiling a record of 18 wins and 1 loss. In every single one of his wins, he knocked out his opponents, and in 16 of them, he won in the first round! As for that solitary loss, it was a disqualification that tarnished his almost perfect record, in which he accidentally kicked his opponent while he had been knocked down.
@@lightworker4512 you are correct but thankfully jcvd has kept himself in shape over the years to still be able to do those kicks at his older age Chuck Norris was still able to kick very impressively in his 60s in the last few seasons of Walker he was still kicking like a young man and he was in his 60s when you get older you got to focus more on taking care of your legs and your knees so you can still be able to kick when it comes to martial arts
His kicks execution is flawless. Perfect technique. That’s what I loved about his movies. It didn’t matter to me the fight scenes were slow or unrealistic. The technique was everything.
Yeah they are doing initial fighting tactics, but the best thing to do is always to disable the outside emphasis, and go for the inside because your attackers always using the outside, you see once you disable the outside emphasis youve nullified the entire logic of combat, engagement qualities are really a big illusion, actually, and remember, you cant disable the outside, but once you do, you become in full power of the attacker, your mentality, and the situation....and to do this you must step back(pull back) from the opposing force by ten acres(Of course for resupplies and a raise in spirit and morale), and then you can go into the inside, REMEMBER, you cannot ever, disable the outside, you will always be surrounded, if you dont step back, 10 acres, you will lose from the outside emphasis. - Northern/Southern Sosaiken
Haha i grow up watching and admit JCVD. But to say the "fittest ever" is just NO. Compare to someone like steven segal JCVD is a beast for sure. But u have people like donnie yen, scott adkins, jackie chan, tony jaa who are all just as "fit" and skillful.
Legend!!!!!!!! 1 of my favourites of all time! Hes got everything in his lock! Punches kicks head butts the lot & he still moves like a pro at his age #Respect
I love seeing this, whenever you see Steven Segal, Mike Tyson, and others passing it onto the next generations. Now JCVD. You can tell he’s out of shape but he has a wealth of knowledge. I’m sure training regularly both helps them as much as it helps him. JCVD was one of my childhood hero’s who got me into martial arts. Much respect to him.
Hes a fucking machine even in his age! How can you dislike jcvd hes a great and humble Person ive met him once in Amsterdam and he talked to me like He knew me all His life. Rly impressing to me 🥰
Obrigado. Muito Obrigado... Minha infância foi assistindo seus filmes e claros vários outros, mas vc marcou e sempre marcará história eternamente... GRANDE Jean-Claude Van Damme
Love him so much. We all brothers, gathered opposite the tv set in the hall and watched van Damme's movies. These days were one of the best in our childhood.
Been a fan since I was 9 years old after seeing Kickboxer on VHS in 1989. Followed his whole career and finally got to meet him at the 2012 Expendables premiere. The guy was the only one still taking photos and autographs with the public. He knows we are the mouths that feed him and it shows. And absolute class act. A very humble guy who also admits his shortcomings. For me that’s a genuine person. I just miss the 80s and 90s stuff he used to churn out. Other than JCVD and Van Johnson and maybe The Bouncer they’ve been fairly bad.
...I had my mind centered around the Seagal - Van Damme feud and forgot to mention in my first comment how cool it is to see Jean-Claude at the gym helping out with some of the young blood. He is a good guy...and about as real of a person as they come.
This guy is a legend! I really love his movies, and he is a great inspiration for fighters. The power, the speed, the precision are really impressive. One of the best of all
It remains a money-making machine, but it needs to make different films back to being the real JCVD. You are still the icon of action movies. The living legend
His kicks are beautiful, so smooth and perfect, i would love to meet this man one day and train with him a little bit and learn from the mastsr himself!
GO VAN DAMME BABY!!!. WHAT A LEGEND!!. I REMEMBER HAVING POSTERS OF HIM WHEN I WAS A KID DOING KARATE ..( HIM DOINF THE SPLITS. HE WAS MY FAVOURITE I LOVED HIM. WATCH ALL HIS MOVIES.. SO HAPPY TO SEE HIM PASSIONATE HERE STIL AND INSPIRING A ROOM FULL OF OTHERS WHAT A LEGEND
Steven Seagal is the ultimate cautionary tale of falling for your own hype. The man is just completely mental. Luckily JCVD stayed reasonably humble, and actually stayed in shape too...
Steven Seagal claims to have taught Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida the front kick that K.O'd Vitor Belfort in their respective matches against Belfort...Then JCVD shows up and showcases real talent! I really respect Van Damme's talent and dedication to his craft.
Does anybody-including him- really believe that? Honestly...how many kicks have you seen him throw in like 30 years of 🎥 making (I mean he could blame them pants, but I don't but that one either)?
That is like the most basic Karate kick. Even people who don´t fight naturally kick like this. It was all just marketing because Steven Seagal was trying to remain relevant and Anderson Silva was also trying to become more iconic for hanging out with idol/celebrities from the 80's/90's.
I love how he share his valued knowledge, bcz he know about importance of give a good legacy, in fact thats all about in life and most important thing... i hate greedy old ppl who hate to share valued knowledge treasure with others... and love how the guys respect him and learn with him. Strength & Bless! :D PS: Its awesome how he can still throwing a high kick to the head, i trained thai but now at my 37 i barely can throw a mid kick! bcz stop of training, covid and sicknesses.
1:32 Van Damme effortlessly kicks at the speed of light, while totally relaxed. 1.39-1.42 MMA fighters stumble while attempting clumsy turning kicks JCVD was a sensation, he woulda cleaned up in MMA. He'd be one of the greatest ever had he competed.... Cheerio!
