Always remembered. A very good and humble man. I remember meeting him in 1986 for friendly in between the national team and Bayern Munich. One of the best goalies I have ever watched.
man, to see jean marie pfaff in his prime was something you would never forget, I never saw him but just on tv during the Mexico 86 world cup, I was very young back then but even I could appreciate a goalkeeper as fantastic and jean marie, to me the best goalkeeper of that world cup, the pride of Belgium as the comentators in tv called him. the game against Russia was all his this guy had wings !!! greetings from Lima - Peru
I was 14 watching the '86 world cup. Pfaff inspired me to play goalkeeper. I went on to play keeper in high school and college. I always considered Pfaff the best. He had the best positioning, timing, and tremendous courage to come quickly off his line.
Hay mucho y muy buenos, pero considero al belga Jean Marie Pfaff como el mejor portero que he visto. Mis prioridades de vida han cambiado, hoy mi pais, mi comunidad próxima y mi familia son mi principal tesoro, pero fue una vez, que el deporte y entre todos ello el fútbol era mi más placentera pasión, preferiblemente junto a mi familia, en tarde dominical, todos a una, sentados frente al TV, empujando por nuestras preferencias. El deporte es sano y es saludable vivirlo!
sorry to say but preudhomme was phenomenal .. when he kicked the ball from the goal line , it dropped just outside the penalty area , setting up a winning counter (he did that more than 20 times in his career) preudhomme could hold a ball in midair (yes even the hard shots)
Pfaff was good but certainly not the best goalkeeper we Belgiums ever had. Piot was as good as Pfaff, Preud´homme was much better and Courtois and Mignolet are both better than Pfaff as well.
Woud Wilder I totally disagree. Preudhomme was always in the shadows of Pfaff, until he quit professional football. After that Preudhomme was n1 keeper in Belgium. Pfaff and Preudhomme are the 2 best goalkeepers from Belgium ever.
Jean Marie is the best goalkeeper ever...without a doubt. He sometimes took unstoppable balls miraculously. The current Belgian goalkeepers are certainly good, but the prize for the most stylish goes to Jean Marie.
everyone loves Jean Marie in our country. There are a few people who say he sells a lot of show and pranks. Gosh....if you're that good you can have some pranks I think.
