Agreed. Too bad JMJ has gone the way of the powers that be, sold himself to the elite agendas. I doubt he´s smart enough outside his music to get what he´s doing in that regard.
This was actually released in 1976, so this was 14yo when this performance happened. I saw a video of them performing it in the 70's, and guys are running all around the stage to make the right notes on giant machines. It's definitely gotten easier to perform. He probably just needs an iPad & an AMP today.

My comment was that the song had been around for 14 years before this performance of it. jarre is one of the greatest musicians ever!! he is ahead of his time, now in 2020 i'm watching this concert and enjoying in this sad covid-19 days, his music makes me hope! a man with big heart, love him
I was there, it was my second JMJ concert, after Destination Docklands. I am sure I will never see anything like this in my lifetime again. JMJ was, and still is, the master of live concerts. Lets have another massive City sized concert Jean Michel. PLEASE !!!

The first 90 Seconds in this Movie were one the best 90 Seconds in my whole life ... never had such cosmic emotions again undtil now. I was standing with my girl-friend direct at the bridge over river seine in front of the skyscapers with the 100 Meters high seven-segment countdown ....
Jean Michel Jarre is the greatest! Last show I enjoyed was Water for the Desert, Water for enveryone. Most impressive show and audience in Morroco, Maracesh... Some people would like this world and it´s people to survive..... We who know better will watch the world destroy itself..... Jean M Jarre is providing some hope...............

Poxa meu caro! A mesma situação eu passo hj em dia ao lembrar do meu eterno pai! Ele também amava, vivia me falando com a maior banca e pose o nome desse artista kkkkkk e ele ouvia comigo desde o meu nascimento em (1994). Então eu aprendi a gostar porém o meu coroa amava, ele faleceu em abril desse ano 2023. E desde então eu sempre escuto pra lembrar, sentir ele por perto de alguma forma. I can watch this concert over and over again if I want to from my VHS or burned DVD disc hehe :D I love this concert from Paris 1990 and it's my best favourite concert I had here in my apartment :D

The countdown and the First Song Oxygene 4 were the most intense, stunning and huge music experience of my Life ... in Paris La Defense at 14.07.1990 - 201 Years after the French Revolution.
I think Jean has incorporated France into some of his tunes.. like the French style accordion sounds JMJ put on some of his songs like Chronologie 6, which I felt gave those tracks a French feel....and "band in the rain"..to me sounds like something from France too. So I do believe some of his work he does incorporate France into it. Also just like Ravel and Debussy, to me JMJ is a modern day classical composer. So yes it is good to know that such good music came from French people.

The only thing I remember was a brief appearance of Jarre at that time in a Dutch television program where he announced the video release of this concert. They aired a tiny bit of Calypso 1, performed with the steeldrum band and two giant creatures. I thought, being 11 at the time, that he was the god of synthesizer. I didn't have the VHS for untill around 1996, but I've played it so often, that's now almost erased, lol! Does anyone know if there are DVD's of his classic concerts available?

Yes, JMJ playing Oxygene 4 live in Paris, but the concert begins with Paris La Defense and then JMJ and his aides are playing Oxygene 4 after the melody Paris La Defense is finish :D

@MrAntipattern actually you are wrong. French revolution started 5th of may 1789. Jarre and all the french people celebrate the biggest moment of it all : the "fête de la Nation" which stood a year after Bastille day. The assault on the castle became famous almost a century after.
I'm a little disappointed, when nobody can't help me what JMJ said to his fans on his concert Paris La Defense, but I know only his 3 words he said, before he and his aides were playing Equinoxe 4 :D He said : Bonsoir à tous = Good evening all :D But other words he said to his fans after he and his aides were playing Oxygene 4 I want to know in French what he said or maybe in English :D I will be pleased :D
