With or without our assent, technology wears away our private sphere. Is governments’, employers’, platforms’, friends’ and families’ right to know about us consistent with effective insurance against the many abuses that transparency may engender? What mix of private shelters (safe spaces), legal protections (GDPR 2.0), and constitutional safeguards will help us cope with the ominous expansion of our public sphere?
