Not sure if you even check comments from a video this old but I used both of your videos to install my ac myself. I have nearly 0 experience with ac but I managed to install it myself in 1 weekend. Had pepboys charge it and now my coldest vent blows at 43 degrees. So much better now and I wish i could thank you in person sir.
Hi Paul, thanks for your video. Can you tell me what size belt you used. I have my system set up just as you have in your video but I can seem to find the right belt size. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
I agree, I'm planning to install the air conditioning in jeep yj 6cls, but I still can't find the serpentine belt and the arrangement that it should have with the pulleys, could you help us Paul? Greetings from Mexico
Hello, great video on install used it to in stall on my 94, got the kit from Jeep air also. Did you have an issue when the air is kicked on the idle drops to very rough. This is my issue whe AC is on the drops so low the Jeep shakes. Any recommendations?
Yes. That will be the case if you crank your engine with the air off and then cut the air on. Try starting your engine with the air on and the computer will recognize this load and adjust your ideal rpm. Thanks!
Thank you for making this, I've had this Kit in my garage for about two weeks. It's now getting hot. Time to install. How long from start to finish did it take you?
Excellent video Paul. I've got a 91 YJ as well that I will be adding AC too as well. I'll be referencing this video during my install. Glad you pointed out that one pulley that needs to be on the timing cover. Would you say the blower motor for the AC is very powerful or is it just about enough to be content with?? Also what was the AC temp at while you were moving down the road? I know with YJs not having an electric fan can make them less efficient at idle. Thanks for the great upload! Liked and subscribed.
Thank you for your kind comments. No this air conditioner is not as cold as a newer vehicle however it will keep you from sweating in the heat of summer in dead traffic.
All in all, how many pulleys do you have now for the a/c configuration? Looking to get the kit and currently I have 5 and I’ve seen a/c set up diagrams with 7. Just want to see if I need that extra pulley.
Hey Paul, I’m a newbie wanting to wrench. My 95 YJ w/air .. Do I need to do some bleeding to the system before I remove my bad compressor? Once I swap out bad Compressor do I need to do a fill?
Yea, You need to take it to a air conditioner service center to have the old Freon evacuated so it does not escape into the atmosphere. Put in your new compressor and then place a vacuum on the system and then add new freon. Thanks for the comment!
Did you weigh in the charge correctly? That may help it get colder. And as you move it will drop. Love the video thanks for all the time and effort man!
@@pusherpilot thanks dont know much about these jeeps found a guy local selling one real nice great condition..only issue has a swapped mustang 5.0 motor in it ..dont know if I can be smogged I live in CALIFORNIA LOL
