Our 2015 Jeep Cherokee was blowing cold air on the passenger side. We diagnosed it with a failed right panel vent sensor. The Jeep would only blow hot air on the passenger side if the heat range was set to max.

I had the exact same problem, passenger side dash vent blowing cold unless on max setting. Followed this video and ordered the part on Amazon. Used a needle nose pliers to yank it out. Works perfect now and took about 30 minutes. Thanks ACH!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I bought my used 2015 Limited from Car Max 5 years ago and didn't have any heat on the driver's side. Since it was still under warranty I took it to Perry Jeep in National City, CA and after a week of tinkering with my car and numerous software flashes they gave it backed to me "fixed". After a month I realized it wasn't fixed but living in San Diego I rarely need the heat and just learned to live with it. Can't believe Perry Jeep of National City couldn't figure out such a simple fix!!!

I have the same exact year and model. Thank you for making this video to share, this is and WILL SAVE ME tons of cash as the dealer wants close to $900.00 to replace a 25.00 part not including a 175.00 diagnostic charge just to see what the issue is. Is there another sensor for the blend doors in the same area as the climate control sensor? Maybe you can make another video explaining how to change the blend door gears? Thank you again for saving me a lot of money. I do have the hard plastic trim removal kit already, so that is step number one.

Thanks. Had been ragging on the dealer service dept to do this for 3 years. They wanted to start with a $350 diagnostic charge! The new NEW THERMISTORS read 2610 ohms at 27 C the failed one was reading 2500 ohms and failing while in use. The Old thermistor leads are soldered on to the plastic barbed housing leads within about 2.5 mm of the thermisitor - just poor practice the soldering probably fried the thermistor. The right thermistor was reading 2900 ohms at 20C but got swapped out just because.... T he 58 CENT thermistors appear to be able to be exchanged out of the plastic barbed housing if you have a friend in the HVAcC trade that buys them by the bucket. An 11" bent 90 needle nose makes short work of extracting the barbed housing. Dealer part number 68396055AA sensor- air temperature has a white body but seems to work $35.26

Yea it is a pain to change. Although this is nothing compared to my 2012 Ford Fusion. That had a similar issue at one point, you have to fully disasemble the dashboard to replace a $20 part. Never did it. Car got whacked and I ditched it.

Have you hand an issue with the heat not changing to defrost or floor? Mine will only blow out of the front vents, I can hear in the dash the change of air flow so I’m not sure if it’s the blend door actuator. Do you have any pointers on what to look at?

1. Must have tool: Harbor Freight, PITTSBURGH Ratcheting Right Angle Multi-Bit Screwdriver Set, 8 Piece $2.99 2. Disconnect the negative battery cable (under passenger seat for 20 mins.) to recalibrate the blend door actuator system. 3. Do NOT drop the screw. You'll never find it again

Is the service manual for just the jeep or covers all dodge models ? Also do you think it will work on 2014 dodge avenger for resetting the TPMS. Looks like someone was able to disable his TPMS in WIN for dodge Journey 2011 Downloaded the demo but didn't see option for WIN. I,m using ELM327 BUT not getting connected. May have to get the OBDLINK MX PRO. TRY FORSCan with ELM327 Adapter on your Mazda and see how deep you can go. You doing great job but let see more of the Diagnostic s part next time. It helps us learn . What's going on with the scoping? Waiting for the next video

Hi ACH, I have Jeep grand cherokee 2014 model. I cannot set the temperature of AC with Uconnect as well as with temperature control buttons(red/green ). AC work well(cooled) when I set it on lowest temperature. But as soon as I try to increase the temperatue with 1 degree, it started heating. Any suggestion/idea what is wrong with it?
@ACHAutomotive
@ACHAutomotive Год назад
Sounds (maybe) like the blend doors are either opening/closing and not staying in position based on what you're calling for (heat/cool) - without seeing it, I am not sure. Just shooting in the dark on that.

I'm having the same issue. Finally took mine to the dealership and they said it was the air duct sensor. Mine blows cold on drivers side. Is the left sensor behind the radio as well? They told me it would take most of the day and will have to take part of the dash out. I can't find any other videos on this.

My 2015 Jeep Cherokee would blow cold air on drivers side. I followed this video and found two sensors behind the radio. I painstakingly removed the left sensor. I unplugged the wire to the sensor and used a mini needle nose vice grips. Tighten the vice grips as tight as possible on the sidewall of the sensor. Then grab the end of the needle nose handle with a channellock pliers. Ripped it out with a big pull. It will come out. Putting the new one in is just a simple push. Have fun!

I have a few questions for ya. How could i get in contact with you? I dont have the social media stuff. Im an email type guy. I would love to see more 2015 jeep cherokee videos. As i said i have a 2015 latitude with 78k on it so its time for belt change, spark plug change and looking to change the headlight to led bulbs. Would you happen to know a great company that you can change your halogen bulbs to led with the anti-flicker that wont break the bank?
@ACHAutomotive
@ACHAutomotive 4 года назад
You can shoot me an email at: 95scstang@gmail.com, I'm not always good about email haha - I've got more videos planned for the Jeep, it needs a belt and one of my CV boots has a tear in it, so those will be on the docket at some point. I'm not sure on the bulbs. I can tell you I've used bulbs in my 2017 Ram from LasFit - www.lasfit.com/ and they've been great. Full disclosure, they did send me a pair to test. I've got them in my reverse lights in my Ram and they light up wicked bright. I have a long dark driveway so I needed more light.
