Nice build. I like the idea of moving the spare tire. Depending on where your going, you can move a full size spare to the roof or replace it with a can of fix-a-flat and AAA. It funny how every inch of head height is so critical in these compact SUV builds @4:30.
Looks like a good staring point for my project... but I have removed my rear seats, and the passenger seats, to make more of a mobile capsule hotel kind of thing.
It's cool for a weekend with a medium to small dog but I spend a lot more time in my vehicle. I let my big dogs have the back a to themselves with our supplies for a lot longer than the weekend. People actually think my care is like a store or something. They are like you gotta have this or that in your car with all that stuff you have in their...lol. if they need something, they do you have such and such... surely you must with all those supplies...lol. I guess I look like supplies. As for the front I use pillows, blankets, and heavy duty sleeping bags for the winter freeze. A lady thought we would die in our car in the freeze. As it turned out, all we need where hard core sleeping bags and we were fine. I sleep in the front. Nothing else works unless I upgrade to a van.
I wonder if a similar design could also work with the outback, so that you wouldn’t have to remove the seats. Or maybe just leaving in the smaller single seat back w/ bench...
Dude, you have this down to an art form!! Love the fill the boot banner on the garage wall btw ;). We usually have to duct tape those on the front of stores and hold the boot at the door haha.
Have anything like this for two people sleeping in the back of this same model jeep? I’m looking for design ideas. It’d have to have much less of the table/stored space area if any at all.
Chase...love your design! I have a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo X that I would love to try this out in! Do you sell these in Idaho? I see you're located up in the Treasure Valley. I'm about 2 hrs SE of you down in the Magic Valley, just east of Twin. Do you sell these as kits? Curious...
Actually doing this exact tri-fold setup on my 19 crosstrek with pullout built into cubby etc. Would love to see even just a picture or two of either this or your outbacks cubby being built. Thats my next thing to do in the build.
Awesome! Keep an eye out for my website Im building, Ill share about it soon. I hope to share photos, videos and more info on my conversions there. Thanks for the interest!
I have a 2018 Jeep Cherokee sport, not the grand, and I was wondering what the measurements are, or did you have a template that you used or something like that like how can I get a hold of the plans to do this myself?
Now I'm going to be nosy and curious what part of the country do you live in, and when I start my build could you maybe help me via video chat get the legs for my under bed storage in the tracker? I have my measurements. I should be ok, I will need to make a drawer in the back 8 inches high by 41 and a half inches long in the bottom, then 52 1/2 inches long for the top piece, I'm fascinated how you did the shelf in yours for the back rest to the seat on the left on the bed. I'm going to make that part into a porta potty using a medical bed pan and have a lid on hinges
I am based out of Idaho, but travel all over the west coast. I could potentially be available to chat if you need some help, though I am no expert on the topic. Feel free to connect with me on instagram or Facebook. Links are in the description.
Hey, ... Really NICE job with the space .... (I own a 2016 Grand Cherokee, and this has given me "food for thought" ....) "Thanks" for posting this !!!
Nice build. Looking at getting a jeep grand cherokee for me and the wife to sleep in the back off. Looks like it'll be wide enoug, barely haha, do you by chance know how wide in inches it is?And you said its 74 inch platform you built? Is that with the seat push forward or in normal seating position. Because I'm 6'2 exactly 74 inches so sounds like I should just barely fit?
Thanks, David! I do not recall the exact width. Yes the length is only attainable with the seat forward. I think with the seat moved forward you should be able to make a platform to accommodate you well.
@@ChaseChristopher1 Wood is stiff design material that confines a design when you can easily use modular blocks which are flexible and can be adjusted as per multiple requirements. See this video to know what I am exactly referring to - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T2WzzE3_zGY.html - and if you can use wood, you can certainly use rocks too as they are equally stiff 😉
