NICE set up ..... (I myself own a 2016 Grand Cherokee, and I have been building out my own Jeep for use in the up coming season ) . I LIKE that you took the time to add the carpeting to your platform (to protect the interior panels of your Cherokee 👌👍👍), most people don't make the extra effort, and find out later the damage that could happen .... I ordered a Napier SUV tent, and have a 12 volt Fridge/Freezer, D=Hive air mattress, and a couple black colapsable storage bins that "fit perfectly" ... Now I need to find the "right" Solar power station , to meet my needs .... "Thanks" for posting your Cherokee build !!

Nice Mark! That's pretty similar to how I did the back of my flooring van. Store the tools underneath and plenty of room for the carpet, tile and such on top.

It doesn't take much! I had a much nicer setup in the Subaru Ascent, but it was a bigger SUV. Someday I'll do an actual van, but for now I wanted something that can still go off road a bit.

Don't forget the passenger seat flips all the way down forward . Anybody can sleep in one of these with a little bit of wood cutting.

I want to do a build in my 2021 Cherokee. Curious how many inches were the feet blocks on the second piece sitting on the back of your seats? Also how long are your table legs that you used? Great build! Super inspiring! Thanks!

Great build! I have an orange 21 Jeep Cherokee Latitude. I want to build a platform for half of the back so that I can leave a seat up for my dog to sleep in. I also have an SUV tent to try. I was wondering what you do to keep te battery from going dead from the back gate staying open while camping?

The SUV tents are nice. While the gate is open, I manually click the locking mechanism closed, to trick the the Jeep into thinking the gate is closed. I'll usually hang something from the locking mechanism (i.e. carbiner) to remind myself to unlock it before closing the gate.

I'm only 5'8", and have plenty of room. I'd say if you push the front seats fully forward, there would be room. Also, at least on my Cherokee, the front passenger seat folds completely down, so you could potentially extend your bed platform further on that side if you needed the extra room.
