How to install a steering box brace from Boostwerks Engineering. If you want to purchase a steering box brace like the one in the video, they can be found here: www.boostwerkse...
Actually when you were putting the replacement pitman but on, you forgot that you were converting from foot pounds to the German standard...guttentight.
Nice video. They couldn't fabricate that maybe a quarter inch narrower? It looks like a beefy piece but I think it's rubbish being required to cut away structure to add structure.
Yes,Some. "OMG it's so much better" would have been great. And the Allen screws connecting to the new extended nut is a little suspect as too keep it turning together for the long run. Thanks,Better than not having the brace I would say.
Hi Devon, I'm a little late to the party here. I noticed that the jeep has tie in brackets for the front bumper, which should firm up the front end. I'm wondering how much this steering brace helped with the feeling on the front end?
This is an old video but I’m wondering if this would help with any bump steer issues, 99 xj with 6 1/2 Inch lift along with total front end rebuild and new steering box with all geometry in perfect specs and still have a slight bit of bump steer.
No check your balljoints tierods for proper torx and wear check for play on your wheel bearings. I have found in 90% of death wobble casses the ball joints are the problem
instead of all that noisy messy cutting and grinding i could make 3 swings of a snap-on dead blow 48 oz. hammer at each side where it touches uni-body, at the cross-member only, laying flat only where the new brace touches the factory x-member. this way no loss of strength super quick and clean
There's an option for stock style sway bar as well as the Currie anti rock sway bar drop brackets on boostwerks website when you order the steering brace.
