I've been eyeing Speedhut's gauges for quite a while now so I'm interested to see how they work out for you, especially the install and GPS speedometer. They do seem awesome and the customization could be really good for what I have in mind.
I've been studying the wiring diagrams and install instructions and trying to figure out how they marry up to the new painless wiring kit. It honestly doesn't look too bad but won't know for a while. I know the GPS speedo cable has to be mounted somewhere where it is exposed so it can pick up the satellites. I'll def do a follow up video on how they work and how they look day and night. Thanks for the comment.
Yes they are awesome. I go through how to wire them in another video on my channel if you want to check it out. Good luck w your build. It’s worth it when you’re done!! JD
I love these gauges. They aren't cheap but have functioned flawlessly and love that you can customize them to your preference. I also love the GPS speedometer so gears and tire size don't throw off your speedometer. JD
Those gauges look sweet, And the GPS speed signal would be nice , you wouldn’t have to mess around with speedo gears every time you go up or down in tire size.
Oof those do bite... so many things I want to do but absolutely not enough money. Going to be painting mine soon! Old rust bucket will get that and some body mounted steps to her 4inch lift y’all ass! Painting mine a dark grey.
Someone OutThere Thanks!! It really does look good especially w the stainless dash. Can’t wait to see them at night. Worth the $$ in my opinion. Thanks for the feedback!!
Dash looks good. On your lift did you have to get a longer front drive shift or anything? Did you have to do anything to the Jeep outside of what the shop wouldn’t do to make the 4” lift be correct with no issues. I have a 84 and trying to get as much info as possible to decide if I won’t to go 2.5” or 4”. Nice work on your Jeep.
Alan Seaman Hey Alan! Thanks for the feedback. My Jeep already had a “4 inch lift” on it so I was lucky and didn’t have to do anything to my driveshafts. The BDS kit drops your transmission and transfer case about an inch and also comes with axle shims to help get the angles correct. The BDS 4 inch lift is stout and tall. Easily clear 35s. I guess it’s all about what you want in terms of height and tire size. I don’t regret the 4 inch lift but it’s tall!! Check out my other Jeep updates specifically on the lift I got, they may help. Thanks for the questions and comments.
Osmel I don't think this gauge comes with a mechanical speedo option. It's a GPS speedometer which is better in my opinion because you don't have to calibrate for tire size or gear ratio. I've had zero issues with mine. Best bet would be to call Speed Hut tech support and talk through this with them. Thanks for the question.
