Thank you so much for this video. I’m smart enough to know not to believe just 1 person. I am not a certified mechanic nor am I a paint/body guy, but I’ve literally built a 1999 Jeep Wrangler TJ & did body work & painted it by watching multiple RU-vid videos with different creators on one particular subject & then actually doing it. Then watching multiple videos on the next project. Took me longer than most people, but it’s built & I get compliments that it looks professionally done. I know I’ll never be completely done, but it’s been a great learning experience. And I also get frustrated with the ones that ACT like they know it all, but never gave an answer. They wait until someone respectable (i.e. Jerry Bransford) gives an answer to the problem & then acts like they knew the whole time. Just to be clear, I listen to Jerry Bransford because he’s proven like yourself to actually know what he’s talking about.

That’s a great way to learn! And at the end of the day you can sit back and say, I built that and that’s something to be proud of! I’m right there with ya on paint and body. I am not great at it and I don’t enjoy it 🤣🤣

🤣🤣 good luck! I didn’t intend for this to be a giant fight starter, more or less encouragement for new jeep owners that it’s okay to experiment, break things, and upgrade as you go. Very few real people go out and buy everything they need for a fully set up jeep in the first shot. But best of luck and report back on progress! 🤣🤣

@@Kubicon I wouldn’t say mine I’d fully set up. There are definitely things that I still want to do like at 1 ton axles, etc., but with my personality, I wanted to see if I could build a non-running Jeep & I did. Proving through RU-vid & reading legitimate articles that anyone could do this with just average intelligence & the right tools. I prob spent more money on tools than I did on actual parts, BUT I have the tools now for future breakdowns. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do. And to be honest, it’s not that I want to start fights, but it really chaps my hide when some will put down others for not knowing & it becomes obvious they are not too far ahead themselves. Another words, they are not experts.

That’s the way to do it man!! I bought mine bone stock with a blown engine and over 13 years this is where we are at today. I still don’t know shit and look where the jeep is at today 🤣🤣 if you ever need anything don’t hesitate to reach out! I mean it when I say there’s no obligation to buy parts. I’m happy to help where I can!

@@Kubicon thank you. I definitely follow you & now you know who I am on Facebook. You sent a laughing emoji when I posted your RU-vid video. I’ve got it set up to notify me when you put out new material. Hope to see you in the trail

Agree 100%. I wheeled and daily drove almost the exact same setup for about 10 years. Yellow and all. Also, is that $100k comment real? I’m building a very similar jeep and I’m nowhere near that amount.

Thanks! It annoys me that people keep putting new jeep owners on blast for wanting to do a budget! And yeah it’ll be up close to there but I’ve done a lot more than is required. I only want to do it once lol

I tell people all the time how surprised they would be with how capable a very simple or even stock Jeep is. The forums have brainwashed people into thinking you need 40s and tons to run fire roads
@Kubicon
@Kubicon 10 месяцев назад
Wait, you don’t need 40s and tons to go to the mall? 🤣
