A couple of thoughts: I have an aftermarket headliner. It has made a huge difference in comfort in extremely cold weather. One benefit of staying with black fenders is they are cheaper to replace if you damage them off road.

I agree with all of these and this is how I bought my glad. The trail camera seems gimmicky but I do really find it useful and as you said, the quality is excellent. LEDs - much better light quality, the sealed beams are not safe. Bed liner - very well done from factory, all bolt holes were open as they should be and protects the bed from the outset. Aux switches, the aspect that impressed me was that Jeep thoughtfully built in both interior and exterior pigtails and options for latching or momentary activation. That you have two 40A circuits is awesome too for running high power accessories. Also agree on the cold weather package. I don’t personally have a preference but my spouse has always appreciated heated seats and her comfort will give me more opportunities to drop the roof in cool weather. With the excellent heater and seats going, popping the roof when it is 50 degrees is totally doable.

I'm surprised how few people (everywhere - you, the commenters, and other reviews and forums) go for the selectrac full time 4wd option. I don't believe you even mentioned it? You still get all the 4wd goodies, still get 2wd for "good" mpg, but you also get something similar to AWD for highway driving in variable conditions. If I were ordering one it would be a no brainer for me. For someone looking for a jack of all trades type vehicle, might as well make it capable of pretending to be a Subaru as well. I'm looking for one in stock at a dealer or used and there are surprisingly few out there.

Agree with most of what you said. I would just add the tow package as well, in addition to the aux switches and bedliner like you mentioned. Ordered a Willys Sport so I could get the limited slip as well without a bunch of the other option packages.

They are gouging on the led’s for sure. But they are an absolute must. I dont like aftermarket parts either and the factory led kit just has such a nice clean look

Getting a body color roof can be beneficial for heat reflection, like if you had white the cab would not get as hot.

I just bought my 2021 JT , I looked across the country for a JT with Adaptive Cruise Control , the steel bumper, and the forward facing camera. After 1,000 miles of driving, those items are very useful. In addition, the Fox Shocks with my Mojave make a big difference on ride quality.

I realize I gave some bad advice in this video. What options or packages would you get? The best value seems to be the sport or willys with certain options added, and then go aftermarket to build it up.

Only things I disagree with is the lighting and the top. The soft top is way underrated in quality and usability. So easy to put back and is a major cost savings on a new Jeep. If you are needing more lighting Oracle offers great aftermarket options better/cheaper than factory. Great video though. Love to see people love the Gladiator rather than hate on it.

Great video! Now the problem is finding one with as much as of those things as possible in manual with a premium sunrider soft top.

Agree with other comment; get the tow package. In my experience the black plastic fenders fade from sunlight over time, but the painted fenders are often the first victims of scratches while off road on narrow trails with side brush/branches. Black fenders are more cheaply replaced.

Couldn't agree more on the black fenders and roof, but same situation, found a used with all the options I like, already 2" Mopar lift and 35" tires for a great price. I might try Plastidip on them to make them black. Also, I have the Methods on my 2013 JKU build and they look great, but the black will go dull so consider spraying them with a clear coat

I’ll lament that power adjustable seats didn’t seem to be an option in ‘21 with the leather? My ‘21 Ruby is about fully loaded and it seems goofy that the leather seats are also not power. Also good options not mentioned (which I have) are: 1) $895 cargo management (trail rail, 115V bed outlet, locking underseat storage) 2) $350 tow package 3) $595 roll-up tonneau cover

Thanks for that. You didn't touch on the stereo. I'm considering a Gladiator and am curious how the base stereo compares vs the Alpine premium unit. I once bought a car and didn't opt for the premium stereo and literally couldn't live with the car, and ended up selling it rather than dealing with an aftermarket replacement integration. To me, especially in a vehicle that generates a lot of noise in the cabin, the stereo and infotainment unit is extremely important.

I just picked up a 2022 Willys Gladiator. I look at things very similarly to how you do but because I bought off the lot at model year end, I missed several options you recommend. I didn't get the programmable switches but will likely add them. I didn't get the adaptive cruise and will sorely miss it, too bad it is not easily added. I didn't get the LED lighting group and will be adding LED headlights as the halogen lights are pitiful. I have the trailering package but will need the electric brake controller so likely will do the Mopar one that replaces the 12V outlet. So far I love my gladiator and it will be really special once I fix a the few things that need some upgrading. Thanks for posting

Does that factory winch bumper have enough clearance to fit a winch cover over the winch?

I watched your very informative video when you upgraded the wheels and tires on your Rubicon (Big Rock Media) channel. Ive watched it a few times to be honest lol .. How is the Gladiator manners with the 35s and added weight? I am looking at upgrading my Mojave to the 35x12.5x17 Baja Boss AT with a set of Black Rhino .. 72lb-tire / 27lb-wheel right at 99lbs per corner .. 4:10,s sufficient? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated ...

Gonna disagree with you on the headliners. One, it's actually a bit cheaper if they come on it particularly when you consider the time and energy or money it will cost to put them on after market. And it appears it really doesn't make much difference which one you get either OEM or the other main brands. BUT, all that hard "plastic" roof is a totally different thing than with the sound deadening headliners. I drove both specifically. IMHO, there is distinct difference. And coming from a Renegade, the JT is at least as quiet...with the headliners. And a must is the limited slip differential at 785 if you have slippery roads of any sort any time. AND, the Selec Trac full time 4WD is highly recommended for the same types of reasons particularly if you are NOT knowledgable about the nature of 4WD or even if you are and live in Montana where they don't use salt/chemicals on road and mostly just plow them down to a few inches of snow and you drive on that all winter or until it melts and you get a quarter mile of clear road and then a quarter mile of snice, slush and icy... You will be glad you got limited slip and ecstatic if you got it AND Selec Trac full time 4WD...
