One year later and this is still holding. Haven't re tightened it yet or messed with it since.

Great vid. I'm getting ready to do mine. I see the torque spec is 200 to 225 ft lbs. I will keep looking as you said 160 ft lbs. One tip for others is wrap the U joint with electrical tape to keep the caps and bearings in place.

It's been like 9 months since I changed it and everything seems good still. I'll probably pull it off before our big trip in a couple of weeks and check it again. Good tip with the electrical tape. Thanks.

@@SpangsWorld Thanks for getting back. I have seen more than one video where the torque from 160 up to 200, that's what's confusing to me. I just googled it many sources say 200 to 225, but on some forums, it's 160 to 200. That's pretty tight 160lb, I would guess it's plenty.

It's because they have never touched a wrench in their life. I believe you did great. This was helpful.

That's about how I would do it not that i actually know how to do it either. Just keep an eye on it and make sure the nut doesn't come lose. Also check and make sure the drive shaft straps are still tight after you drive it a few times.

Yeah, I have been looking into it for a couple months it's just been a small leak, tell we hit Redbird. I'll keep an eye on it for sure. Would like to get it on a lift and go over all the suspension and axles.

How much torque did you put in that pinion nut? Thanks for the video!

I went with 160# from the info I found.

@@SpangsWorld thanks! That’s what I found also. The torque specs were different for used versus new.

@@HoldMyBeerJeeping yeah think I saw as low as 135 and as high as 225. As far as I can tell haven't had a problem with it yet.

@@SpangsWorld well thanks to your video man. I changed mine out yesterday. Worked like a charm! I had one hiccup with the needle bearings in the u joint but for that sorted out. Those caps come off easier than I thought!
