I recently got another opportunity to link up with Matt, and we spent the afternoon crawling through some of the more beautiful Class 4's in Southern Vermont. I really enjoy following such a beast of a Jeep, and with the VARP just around the corner, I'll get another chance in just a few days!
It should be noted that after investigation, the supposedly closed trail we found is indeed CLOSED by the town, and is no longer a legal Class 4. If you know which trail I'm speaking of, or you recognize it from the video, DO NOT WHEEL HERE.
If you're psyched for VARP footage, make sure to subscribe!

This channel is a hidden gem of wheeling. I thought I’d have to go out west for any great wheeling but this has me looking forward to getting g up to VT in the coming months. Thanks for putting these out there

I really appreciate the support, I’ll definitely have some more videos out this season. East coast/New England wheeling is fantastic, you just need to know where to go. Vermont is a bit of a hidden gem when it comes to quality trails, and you can find stuff of almost any difficulty!

The more trail locations are given out on the internet, the more you will see being closed/blocked off. Just happened in Pelham NH. Trail blew up all over the internet with sometimes 20 vehicles a day hitting it, making a mess of the land there and they shut it down.

Right. I’ve made the mistake of letting a couple names loose, I no longer name trails, only towns (sometimes). You’d be really hard pressed to find the trails even if you knew the town. I guess it’s not impossible, but way beyond the effort most “overlanders” will go through.

Been loving the videos man! I'm pretty local to you. These roads are right around the corner from me. I'm more familiar with the NH class VI's than the VT side and have been itching to get out in VT. 99 XJ on 35's. Give me a shout if you're looking for someone to wheel with or if you have a club/group you could recommend.

Thanks so much dude! I’m gradually starting to explore more of the Class VI roads, but I know very few compared to my knowledge of Vermont’s trails. Would love to link up if you’d be willing!

That’s a great trail both ways! Sad to see so many class 4’s being closed, running into barriers quite often lately. Hopefully by mid October I’ll be healed enough to do some off roading with you. Keep those vids coming!

It really is, was happy to get back to it. And yeah, there have been quite a few recent closures for various reasons. Really important to not be a jerk on these trails, they’re all sensitive and once you lose them, they’re usually gone for good. Looking forward to linking up!

Great adventure. Nice job filming! Can’t wait to see more. Can you add what road you’re on?

Thanks for the support! I generally don’t post road names, as these areas are sensitive and lots of traffic may lead to closures. All Class 4s can be found on publicly available VTRANS maps.

Live in Springfield grew up in Rockingham. Where are these trails located? Thanks. Nice videos btw!

Nice vid, looks like another good day 👍 As to the "closed" road, I agree, hard to tell what is really the truth when it comes to some locals, but most have seen what the yahoos have done to ruin it for everyone. These vids you do show you can have just as much fun without tearing up the roads, well done.

Thanks, it was a blast! And you’re right, it’s ridiculously easy to have fun doing this without shredding anything =]

Sadly property owners often block or otherwise "close" trails on their own, and that is not legal. I believe that legally closed trails should require official signage from the authority that closed the trail, along with a phone number for verification. I understand property owners' views on the matter and issues that may come up, but frankly they purchased the property with a PUBLIC road/trail through it. I have chosen to remove such properties from future potential purchase for that reason. But these trails/roads are no different (though vastly less traveled) than your standard paved roads that my split your property. So buy accordingly.

I found the road in question, but we were coming from the other direction came to a down tree across the road as we were removing the tree we ran into a landowner. When I walked to the end of the road I saw the berm in this video .
