Update: after 15,000 miles this aftermarket thermostat has failed and the engine started to overheat. The thermostat was stuck in theclosed position. If you’re going to do this repair be sure to get an OEM thermostat from Mopar or Jeep store!

I just replaced the thermostat but the check engine light is still on. How do I get rid of that?

Either it will go away on its own after a number of engines start cycles on and off and time running. I don’t know the exact number. Or if that does not clear it then you’ll need to get a cheap OBII scanner and plug it in and tell it to reset all fault codes. don’t worry they’re only $35-40. Or you can get the OBII to Bluetooth adapter and the Jeep app called OBD JScan. I’ll put links to both options here.

Use this adapter to connect your phone to the Jeep app above: amzn.to/3wHYVGF

This should also work for erasing all of your fault, codes, and resetting the car. It won’t do some of the more advanced Code reading and programming, but it’ll do the basics. amzn.to/4bVsVhe
