In this video my '99 Wrangler TJ gets 35s and flat fender flares as well as some significant slicing and dicing in the rear wheel wells. We'll have to wait and see if the whole "narrow", "low center of gravity"-ish plan works out without extreme rubbing on all sides.

You're a natural RU-vidr. Since you wanna go Low Center gravity it would be sweet doing DIY Highlines with stock fenders one day!

Looking great, I have the same lift and run 33's KO2 on my 4.0 TJ 2001 I also have these fenders and I love the look and clearance. Now I'm at the point of changing my tires for new ones and I was wondering about stepping up to 35's but the D35 with 3.07 gearing is holding me back. The 4.0 doesn't have any issues with 33's, even the 5th gear works great as long as I'm nog going up hill however, I think I will lose the 5th if I switch to 35's with this gearing. I think, when you keep the D35 stock, it's better not to re-gear because the pinion will be to flimsy for a D35 4.88 Also the torque you gain with 4.88 will put to much strain on the D35 components. There is a super 35 kit, but that's hard to get over here in the Netherlands, but maybe that's an option for you?

I’m having trouble getting my hands on a Super Dana 35 kit here as well so I’ll be running with only chromoly for now with 4.88s

Love the TJ, and that color! I have a tj with the same fenders too. What gearing does your jeep have?

Hi there, what is that blinker light you put on @5:38? Are those come with the fender, or you get them separated from the fender?

I have a 97 tj that I put a 21/2 inch lift and 33s, my jeep drove real good before lift and now it wanders all over the road, I've been told I need adjustable front lower control arms to add some caster, I noticed you have original control arms. Any suggestions for my problem
@dauntlessengineering4092
@dauntlessengineering4092 2 года назад
The control arm solution is probably going to be the primary answer. You can buy just front lower control arms for a really reasonable price. I think I’m just used to the way my Jeep handles so it doesn’t bother me much with my setup, though I am installing new adjustable arms in coming videos. One thing I’d definitely check at home first is your toe. Make sure the steering tires are closer together at the front than the back by about 1/16 of an inch.

I purchased them from Extreme Terrain. I don’t currently see the ones I have with a brief search on the website, but they are very similar to the bushwhacker flat style ones they offer.

I have a 2006 TJ with Rancho 2-1/2 lift kit and 1 inch body lift, run 33 inch BF goodrich mud terrain pizza cutters now but will change wheels and tires to 35 inch. I already had my axles done for 4.56 diff. and also changed speedo gear suitable for 33 and 35 inch tires When i bought the jeep it had stock diff. gearing and it was useless to drive, was fun though hitting the speedo limiter in 6th gear, i think i did 190 km/hour at that time. (totally irresponsible but just had to see what the speed limit was, LOL) I am mainly using it for daily driver, i like to sit high and have some weight with me on our roads in Holland, i hardly go offroad so will be ok with strength of 4.56 diffs. I also want to change to SYE kit with new drive shaft so i can remove the gearbox drop and bring back to factory position. I like the fenders you use, what is the brand ? Thanks for the video, gave me some good ideas. p.s. i do have a Heavy Duty Dana 44 rear axle from factory.
