The Nissan driver is just trying to destroy his vehicle. The LR is a D1 and has no locking diffs, but is otherwise almost completely stop. Take in to account the age of the D1 also!! The Jeep is heavily modified!! Try putting 3 vehicles in factory spec from the approximately same era against the same obstacle, and the Nissan would be left in the dust. The Jeep and the LR would be similar in ability!! This video honestly doesn’t show anything other than people making a mess in nature and being stupid with their vehicles!!
If you try the same stunt with the 2023 version of any of these cars you would not even reach the bank on the other side. They would all fall apart on first contact with mid. No wonder old cars are disproportionately expensive nowadays
All boils down to weight, traction, lockers ( not open differentials). And if tires can move up and down to keep the tires on the ground ( not lifting in air). Length between tires ( wheel base) can add or subtract -- varies on obstacle. So some vehicles length can do better than others on each obstacle. Everything is a trade off. Driving skill can also add or subtract.
It looks like the jeep had the first shot. The bank on the other side is in much better shape, and where did the black bags or whatever that was floating go to? It first appeared a little with the Nissan, then more with the Land Rover, then where is it when the jeep goes for a dip?
It's not the water. It has to do with the front tires are basically off the ground (making them, 2 wheel drive) because the vehicle frame is bottomed out, the front tires can't bite and are hopping and chattering. The only thing that could have overcome it, was more speed from the start, to bounce it over the hump.
@markr9312 yes, not bouncing in and out of the water stops that. Tires are everything when in mud but my comment was strictly driver experience related.
One thing with traction is; no matter how you are good, no matter how your car is good, as long as the mud you are treading on gets pulled backwards by the tyre, you won't get any progress.
It's not the driver and that first one , is an IDIOT or on purpose trying to damage the vehicle. The first two are now JUNK since all the mud and water that got inside will make all electrical control boxes inside the vehicle and mounted on the floor Junk.😂
Yeah I hear you bro! I think a lot of people in other countries do it like the British guys because number one they're stuck on Heritage and they see all the old little series trucks with tiny tires and number to all those weaker vehicles with not much horsepower do better with something skinny unless read gear the week Little Old Land Rovers and stuff with 12.5 wide tires but yeah I hear you that's why ATVs can float over stuff without digging in as much. Now one thing I have noticed though about certain types of mud is when you see those American mud racing trucks that look like monster trucks some of them have big skinny tractor tires that cut right through. But other than that yeah I would say skinny sucks I don't think extremely wide is good I would say maybe a 5000 lb SUV with 11.5 wide. Because I have seen 12.5 unless you have the horsepower it just hinders you
Did all the vehicles have identical wheel bases. If not it seems obvious to me that a vehicle with the longest wheel base of the three, has a huge advantage...
As i saw..that nissan driver was a newbie and that nissan not have a good spec off road..that another 4x4 was not even have a off road spec..but the driver was little good..that jeep was have a good spec off road..don't compare like that..
They have them, didn't you see the front wheels hopping and chattering loudly because they couldn't get any real weight on the tire, since both 1 &2 were bottoming out on the center of the vehicle frames.
First guy grind them if ya don’t know what ya doing.. but if he had alittle more under clearance he would made it .. Second guy needed more under clearance and better tires . Jeep has the clearance the tires and the wheel base .. but all and all it looked fun
It's not the wheel base. It's the GROUND CLERANCE, that made the biggest different, the other 2 just bottomed out at the transfer case plate area. Still Jeep is ALWAYS BETTER!
I'm pretty sure that the dude in the nissan patrol just has no idea what the meaning of momentum and consistent throttling means 😢that was almost brutal to watch!!!
Lol Look at the state of the banking at the end of the Landrover's efforts, then flick to the Jeep approaching the bank. The bank's nowhere near as bad. 🤣
so many variables involved, no way there can be an accurate assessment of ranking the vehicles. Frankly it is all lost on me, I think these guys need a better way to piss away time and money, this is outright silly and wasteful not to mention pointless.
This is how war heroes playing during war while their children scared stay in another countries 😂 Now I understand why they was getting so many 4x4 as a gift from all around Europe! 🎉
