It was a little over 10 years ago that Cindy and installed our very first Dynatrac product on Moby, a ProRock 60 front axle. Since that time, we've been able to rack up well over 150,000 miles, driving him all across America and putting his axle to the test, all along the way. Now, that would include testing it out on dirt, across the sand, through the snow, in the mud, out on tons of rocks and of course, bombing our way across the desert. While it may not look as pretty as the day we got it installed, it is worth nothing is that everything on it is still 100% original. In other words, the housing, ring and pinion, locker, axle shafts and u-joints are all the same things that we've been punishing, all this time. And, it's because of this long resume of use and abuse that we were convinced, a Dynatrac was going to be the axle for us, when it came time to upgrade the one on our Jeep JL Wrangler.
In this feature length video, you'll get learn all about the Dynatrac ProRock 44 being made for the Jeep JL Wrangler, what makes it such an awesome front axle and see how it's made from start to finish, right here in the U.S.A.!
Clearly, a ProRock 44 is far from being something everyone needs and I might even go so far as to say, most people may never need. Certainly, churching it up and trying to convince you of otherwise is NOT the reason why Cindy and I decided to make this video series. All we would ever hope to do is share why we chose to get one for our JL Wrangler and based on our experiences running ProRock axles over the last 10 years and across thousands of miles on Moby, Rubicat and even Nemo. However, I wouldn’t want you to take my word for it. Instead, I would encourage you to look through the myriad of videos that we’ve made since 2007 and see for yourself, just how strong and reliable, all our Dynatrac axles have been for us.
We hope you enjoy our presentation and find it to be informative. Thanks for watching.

My hat is off to Dynatrac and hope to have some of their products in our Jeeps in the future.

Cool video - 'cept for locktite under the bearing caps, WAY too much sealant on the cover (see how much was extruded on the outside, there would be a LOT more to the inside, ready to break free and into the bearings), far too little CV grease in the CVs. I'd still buy one though, if I were in the market, just means having to correct a few things.

Well, for one, we haven't had a lot of good luck with the e-locker. In fact, on Moby, we went through 2 rears and 1 front before finally giving up on them. For two, we've been running ARB's on multiple Jeeps over the last 20 years and they've always proven themselves to be strong. Yes, we've had issues in the past with air lines failing but we've since addressed that by now running braided stainless steel lines.

When our JK D44 bent after 12 years on 37s we went with a PR44 housing and our rubi internals (RCVs and elocker). Recently got in an accident where I hit someone doing about 40 mph. They guy ran a red light. The impact was right on the passenger front tire. The only thing that broke was the OE knuckle and it bent the dynatrac balljoints. The housing took the hit and is still straight, the super strong Cs are still at the right castor and camber and all is good despite the hit they took Beyond impressed

When he was tightening down the bolts on the maingear he torque them way too hard with the air gun you probably noticed when he went to torque them down the bolt didn't move it all it just went right to its torque spec guaranteed every bolt is over torqued when you zip a bolt down and you have to torque them never hold the gun on like that or do one two or three ugga-ugga doesn't work you zip it and as soon as there's no more threads left that's it you don't go around with the air gun again on the bolts it's just a quick zipping of the bolt so that it doesn't take forever to talk them down and the boat needs to move just slightly before you get it to its torque spec and then you know it's properly torque if you go to torque the nut or Bolt or stud and it doesn't move at all you now have to back it off and not with the torque wrench because then you will screw up its calibration just back it off with a wrench or ratchet or if you've got the skill the air gun everything is torque specs for a reason if it didn't matter companies wouldn't bother with all the meticulous work that goes involve and getting a torque spec some people say it doesn't matter others don't give a shit but I can promise you it is extremely important especially when you start to get into racing and everything has tolerances get in the habit of doing it right then you don't even have to think about it it just becomes routine

Ha! I know you weren't trying to sell, but I've been looking at a couple axles and Dynatrac was one of them. I know there quality and seeing how well they are made put them way over the top. Thanks.

LOL - awesome. We're glad to hear you understand that all we'd ever hope to do is share why we choose to run the products that we do on our Jeeps.

Hi Eddie, that was an amazing video...I never would have thought that the manufacturing process was that involved! I'm super impressed. OK, and a little jealous :) I have to ask, and not that I need it, but what would that cost?

The housing alone will set you back about $2500 and depending on how you get it setup, it can ultimately come in at about $5k.

Really helps in understanding why these things are so expensive. True craftsman building bombproof components. Amazing

Thank you. After more than 10 years of experience running Dynatrac axles, I know we've made the right decision to run one again.

I know this is old, but he put fresh silicone in the pumpkin, then proceeded to drill and tap a hole....how do you clean the metal out?
