In the USA the insurance companies dictate how a repair is done, they're managed by people who have never done the work and go by what the estimate program specifies. In turn you have tech's that can't straighten or hammer and dolly metal because it's just cut and replace. Artur like myself are a dying breed. I spent forty years in the trade until it retired me.
Arthur, you were in "Aftermarket, Make it Fit HELL" with this one. Masterful job on those compound angle pulls! There was a time when autobody shops produced quality on a consistent and repeatable basis, and most learned their trade from elders who learned from blacksmiths. Watching Arthur is like a trip back to a time when quality meant something, as did "not having a quarter panel, roof, or hood filled with polyester filler. I remember when the "LKQ Craze" began with insurers; "Like, Kind, and Quality", which often meant that the appraiser/adjuster/company spec'd "AFTERMARKET BODY REPLACEMENT PARTS", instead of OEM parts. If a vehicle was hit hard enough to require a "complete sub-assembly", a similar vintage front or rear clip from another vehicle would be sourced, which was actually the better repair method. It is about seams, alignment, and paint match and finish. When the first "water borne acrylic enamels" came out, it was impossible to get the metallic to lay right. Sikkens and PPG/Ditzler, IMHO, were the first to get that process right.

Одно из немногих видео Артура - где он действительно проявляет себя рихтовщиком! А так - вырезать кузовную деталь и заменить ее - много мастерства не нужно. А вот взять смятую деталь и отрихтовать ее до состояния новой, а если еще отчеканить так, чтобы маляр не накладывал шпакли - вот это высший пилотаж.К сожалению у Артура таких видео всего пару штук....в основном он отрезает поврежденное и вваривает новое.... Видел как один мастер вытянул смятое заднее крыло (без заломов) - вытянул так, что и красить не пришлось. Вот это агонь. Но такого в интернетах не увидишь:( Но в целом - позитивный дядька. Лайк
a lot of Taiwan body parts seem to be going the way of 20 years ago in that the fit is gettng really bad,1 but maybe its because they are not mainstream replacement parts, so we should be grateful we can get them and we can make them fit,great video

Good afternoon Arthur, once again you really earned your money. That Jeep looked great. I see you have a new cordless cutter for sheet metal. It seems like it would be more handy than the corded tool. That was a tough fix on that lower cowl area. You really got it looking great. Thanks for another informative video. I love that a lot of the reshaping is done or could be done without electrical power. Hydraulic pullers, which could be hand pumped. A block of wood & heavy hammers. Angle grinders make fast work of cutting metal away & reprofiling welded joints & spots. So much is down to Arthur’s judgment, to ensure it looks correct when finished & also of at least equal strength. I’m not sure all the repairs filmed are even permitted in some countries. That says bad things about them & their repair sector rather than about Arthur. I’ve watched dozens of Arthur’s repairs. In zero examples would I have any concerns about driving or even owning the finished vehicle.
When you see the work that Arthur has to do I find it very hard to believe that some repair shops are glue pulling badly dented cars and getting a perfect ripple free finish on the body work and without having to paint it.
