Paint used: Krylon metallic silver for bumpers and Rustoleum flat black for frame, wheel wells, etc.
Frame sections: Pocono Metal Craft, but I was not happy with the rear sections and their customer service lacks big time. If you are local maybe they're OK, but I wouldn't recommend them for long distance business. You may want to check out Auto Rust Technicians product called Safe-T-Caps.

Literally have the front axle out of my tj trussing and gusseting it now and this kit is going in at the same time. Thank you again for posting this build it's directly helping me with mine!

I have a 2000 tj sahara been thinking about just coating insides of my frame rails and just drilling out the 4 holes in the frame one in each spot where the control arms bolt up I just caught my frame rust but not bad I didnt finger the frame but I beleive I got a good deal.Dirt is key to rotten the inside of a frame in a tj or lj cause trapping moisture but I believe if I do that to mine it'll be were lowest part of the frame if and any moisture or dirt get in can be easily washed out,my green jeep must be alittle shad diffrent than most I notice yourse is more of a teal mine is like a hunter green must be year diffrence

Drain holes and coating should help prevent any future rust so as long as it's not too bad already you should be OK. The color is called Deep Beryl Green Pearl. Not the color I wanted initially, but it sure has grown on me. Depending on light, it looks green sometimes, blue other times, and even black at night.

@@ryan.vision I traded a 2000 cherokee gunmetal pearl with 223000 I bought beginning the year put 2200 miles on it and the the sahara tj has 146000 little less miles but a tj what I was introduced to as a kid my brother had 2 of em and when I got my first cherokee lifted what sparked the entrance but really offroading or wheeling good to see new sights but with a jeep you can go anywhere

I got screwed on rust on a TJ before I knew to finger the frame too. Outside looked decent. In less than a month the rot from the inside started showing through super bad. I was pissed and so sad haha. Didn't have the means to repair it so got it sold for what I was able to.. thankfully I bought it pretty cheap (no wonder..)

Sorry to hear that... it's a bad situation for sure, know exactly how you feel. Glad you were able to get out from under it. I thought about letting this one go but decided we'd try to do a rust revival haha

If you have the money, and it's a bit pricey if I remember right (maybe 4k?), I saw a company who makes a full aftermarket better quality replacement frame. If you really just have to repair it instead of buying a new jeep or patching your existing frame isn't possible.

I did see the frame you're talking about, can't remember the company name. I couldn't get myself to spend that much so I tried for a while to find an OEM frame in decent shape and do a swap but no luck in my area and shipping was gonna be a killer. Ended up getting my frame squared away for less than I would have spent on the OEM replacement. That was a bit of luck though because I have a friend who handled the welding for less than shops would charge. I can't tell you how good it feels to finally have the frame squared away... I was very worried about that whole situation until it was done.

The front, middle, and rear frame sections will run somewhere around $1000. The labor to install can vary quite a bit depending on the installers experience but I would plan on at least another $1000 for that. Best to call a few shops and compare quotes, check reviews, etc.
