Jeff De Luna and Jasmin Ouschan meet in round two of the 2021 World Pool Championship in Milton Keynes. The loser goes home with both losing their opening matches. #9Ball #Pool #CueSports #WorldPoolChampionship #NineBall
Brilliant play by Jasmin! And thanx for the high quality commentary by Roberto. It's always a pleasure to have pros at the table and in the booth as well
I remember the GOAT got interviewed when i was young on how he was feeling when matched against a woman of pool named Janet Lee. And Efren said in tagalog, "men or women, these players are professionals. You let your guard down and play poorly, they will punish you for it".
I was about to post something along the lines of the term game face could have been coined just for her. And such a contrast to her more relaxed and smiley demeanour on her own coaching channel.
Can't believe Jeffrey still looks raw after all these years.. It's like he just become a pro player last month. He forces shots which is unneccesary. Using excessive spin or force the ball but compromising cue ball control which led him in tough position shots. His shots are entertaining though but that wont work with top pro players.
Well said. I was not that impressed with is performance. Like... you're a "pro...?" Yeah, you can make some really amazing shots, but can you realllly make even more amazing shots and play with the focus and patience you need to win? I didn't see it. I'm sure he's excellent. He just didn't show up for this match. Glad Jasmin won. She deserved it for sure!
@@austinmoore1689 ok then SVB would’ve been number 1, right after he won the world pool championship. Either way in 2022 it wasn’t Ouschan. That would’ve been 2021, but good catch. I didn’t see it said 2 years ago 🤣
@@ryan4452 I actually should have been more informed about my comment when I said about 2 years ago it I was talking about this person’s comment from 2021 that should be close to 3 years now
@@danender5555 so many matches are won before they even start. If you are not tough enough mentally, like De Luna here, the real alpha will only take a bite of.Gorst is an alpha in his demeanor.Strickland was the ultimate alpha for many years. The humble alpha Efren Reyes. The mouthing alpha Keith McCready.
de luna miss too many balls for a professional level. his decision on taking shots also i think quite poor. he lost the cue ball often and care more about flashy play.
After more than 10 racks of Jasmin showing she is a pool expert, Roberto still can't believe when she delivers some incredible shot. So sad he couldn't commentate evenly for both players, and always assumed a lot of "luck" in her game
I personally enjoyed Roberto's commentary. he is a great player who knows Jeffrey very well and has the upmost respect for Jasmin;s game. Was his English perfect? No but who cares? the content and analysis was world class.
Jasmin Ouschan is a world class player, period. Good sense of humor and a good person by all reports. She happens to be a woman. How about that. The men calling the game seem the be straight out of a stereotype from 1950.
I skimmed thru this match, and I did hear one of the commentators saying it's hard to play a female. I hate to tell you that...pretty much ALL males say the same thing in pool. I play on leagues, I'm pretty damn good. Really good actually. I play tournaments. I win tournaments. It is most certainly "different" when you play a female. Simple fact.
Wow, what a nice match for Jasmine. She fell apart a bit in the middle of the match, but other than that her play was excellent. Exciting and interesting match. I often like Jeffrey, but here I was rooting for her the whole way.
Wow, I can imagine the betting odds were in a big favor of Jeff. I wonder if some of the male players have some sort of mental difficulty with playing serious against female players.
Articulating in English isn’t a strong suit for most Filipino players. Gomez’s commentaries do not completely reflect all he wants to say but I thought at one point the lead commentator lauded him for accurately predicting shot positions. You talk to them in the vernacular and you’ll find they have the most game insights which define the “unconventional style” Filipino cueists most commentators from since speak about.
I actually got to meet Roberto and Roland Garcia in Houston they are very humble and class acts and took the time to talk with me I was on cloud 9 when I saw them also got to speak to Dennis orcollo not sure I spelt it right all class acts great guys
@@davidberan470 Indeed class acts. In the Philippines, you don’t find most of them in competing in upscale bars. Most of them trace their beginnings playing on a pool table that are not of the best conditions; in crowded and humid rooms, so you really won’t see them acting in a certain way no matter their rank in the world stage.
Yeah, sexism isn't dead. A lot of other comments like that from him too. We need more female players and we are never going to get the talent if guys like that are commenting.
So true. The English is actually not the main problem. He does what MOST Filipinos do: he just says things and then when someone else doesn't agree - he just agrees with them. No conviction in his comments at all. A nice guy, but a horrible commentator.
That was, if not the best female pool I've seen, right there with the very best. Wow, what a match. Congrats Jasmin, I'm darn sure impressed. "It will end up on the top left corner pocket" "The right corner pocket, there you go" "No, no, no, no, you said left" "Heh heh heh"
There's plenty of high level "female pool" out there Notably: Karen Corr, Allison Fisher, Cheska Centeno, and Siming Chen. Apologies to the many that I did not mention.
Why did Jasmine use the 4 ball for a push out instead of the 2 which was the next one in order to pocket?? I just started watching pool a couple months back so some things I dont get.
that dude is pretty good at making the cue ball jump but that's about it. his cue ball placement and safety shots amateurish. even now no way these guys runs the table on me. i hope these 2 players are just having a bad day
That was a poor comment by the commentator. No Jasmin doesn’t break like a man, she breaks just the way she breaks and that’s all that needs to be said.
