Hi All, I haven't signed in for a long time, but I just did. Wanted to let you know I'm still kickin. When I left Mercury records I went back to writing songs for other people. I've been blessed to have my songs recorded by Rhonda Vincent, Curtis Wright, Vince Gill, Craig Morgan, Alabama, Clay Walker and others. My song Too Much Fun by Daryle Singletary ended up being a big hit. Eventually the huge changes that took place on music row caused me to grow tired of the pressures and BS and I walked away. Life goes on, even after years on music row. Life is great! Thanks again for all your positive thoughts.
Jeff this is one of the best songs to come out of Nashville in the 90's and I have no idea how it wasn't a #1 hit at the time. My mom and I saw the video back then on CMT and bought your CD. So glad you are still out there doing well kind sir. Can't agree with you more about the changes in the country music scene over the last 30 years. Now its all rap and bubblegum pop taking over Nashville. A country music world gone nuts.
Man I wore this album out, in cassette form that is. This album, Alan Jackson's Here in the Real World, Ray Kennedy's What a Way to Go and Vern Gosdin's Alone are hands down my favorite albums from that time period. Maybe throw in Hardin County Line by Mark Collie.
I bought this CD when it first came out years ago. One of the best country songs of the early 90's that should have been a number one hit but got no airplay. This guy was better than any of the cowby hat clones that were on the charts at the time.
I just saw a post on Facebook a couple hours ago from Mo Pitney. Mo, along with several other singers will be included in a tribute concert to Daryle Singletary coming up in Nashville. Jeff Knight was one of the other performers listed.
