NightIsRight I understand what you’re saying, but to me there’s a bigger issue - nowadays, once you’ve heard the first 30 or 45 seconds of a Lynne song, you’ve heard it all. His songs no longer go anywhere, there’s no interesting things happening as the songs progress. They end how they start. And the snare sound absolutely overpowers the entire mix, which to me drags it down
I have no words left to describe what I felt the first time I played it. I commented 3 days ago to a friend that "songbird" was the 2020 ELO Shangri-la, with that crying guitar, and now ENIAC show up with this awesome interpretation... priceless. Always in doubt with him for this absolutely lovely recreations...
The classic Elo sound coming alive again with an incredible fidelity and adding the feeling every Elo fan misses since late 80,s. Thx a lot and Jeff bless you.!!
At the age of 17 I fell in love with this voice. The next summer I hope to have my birthday party in better shape then I ever was.... the past 10 years have been a big struggle for me, because of a weird disease… These video's with the music of Lynne are keeping me alive. Dear ENIAC, so very well done, thank you so much.
Fantastic! ELO has always told but one story: the unwoken fool, stuck in the past, incapable of adapting to modern space-exploring times, incapable of moving on as his love interest long has. This was mirrored in the music: super retro classic songwriting combined with the most absurd high tech sounds available at the time. In the 2000s, Jeff himself broke this formula and made the sound retro as well, destroying the tension between the two poles, like a movie that has only one character and and he’s always in sync with himself. Such a movie, of course, would be uninteresting. But your remixes evoke the winning formula again: the retro songs with futuristic sounds, and suddenly the magic is back! Thank you for that.
You’ve got so much talent man, I wish Jeff would finally come off of his flat AM radio retro sound trip that he’s been on for 20 years and work with someone like you to reinvent himself, as he used to, on every ELO album before 1986. Keep ‘em coming! You never know who’s listening in here...
true true 80's nostalgia ruins a lot of things well not just 80's, but there's definitely a popular 80's-related retro aesthetic which pollutes culture. that's hauntology at work ig
Great..downloaded and added to the collection. I have the original album and all eniac's remixes all together . i added all your versions to the original album. Waiting for more. Thank you.
Jeff Lynne couldn't do that. They would ask "Huh, does he celebrate himself?" ;) But you could do this little ELO celebration. Again a fantastic production. Transforming sweet tunes from the past into the future. Darauf einen Shangri-La, Cheers!
Absolutely love this! Super cool version...beautifully constructed and enigmatic ending with Shanghai-la....I had tears in my eyes...wonderful...and crystal clear sound..😍
I reckon you should have a go at the entire back catalogue. I'd buy it. You really capture the DNA of ELO / JL. Love your interpretation and imagination. Keep 'em coming.
I listened to both versions, you my friend have got the early ELO touch that is a truly unique sound like no other band. This version and others you have done are so much better than the originals. Jeff "really" needs to collaborate with you and allow you to remix more of his songs....they would sell like hotcakes😉!!
Jeff's songwriting genius is very much intact, but it could benefit from some additional expansive flavorings which bring the sound up to an epic level. And here it is!
Walking Together In The WOW! Let’s be realistic here Jeff has said that he really only like doing everything by him self .Thats why there are no other musicians on any of his newer work beside Richard Tandy .So I would imagine that it would be hard to get him to work with a group again .
God this is such a perfect version. It's fucking sublime! I've lost track of how many times I've listened to it. Eniac, please do an update to Strange Magic. Please oh please!
Holy cow this is great song and Georg is using this song to communicate with me. I am his Song bird. As well as Soulmate. I know I texted him that I listen to ELO.
yeah the sound of the whale is the famous fx box "harmonizer" from eventide - invented in the 70´s - jeff used it a lot at musicland studios - and sure its reminiscence to shangri la
OMG this is the first time I have listened to this properly, that is magical, and that ending wowza, you have some talent Robert, please may it continue... (I hope you have All my love in the pipeline, that would be awesome)
You have added the one thing that is missing from ALL of "Jeff Lynnes ELO" tracks. EFFECTS, phase and flange. This track could be from one of their very early albums. 3:38, "I will return".
Love it. Hope you do a remix of help yourself. Great melody, but I think the start of help yourself is quick and lacking and the song ends too abruptly...good job!
ja klar Shangri-la, mag halt die alten Sachen und das ist ja eigentlich auch seine Handschrift - schade das er nicht mehr in dieser Richtung produziert ... naja muss man dann halt selber machen ;-)
I'm guessing you are a big fan of Time and Secret Messages. You can certainly here Tame Impala and Flaming Lips here too. Are you a fan of that stuff too????????
Hey ENIAC. Any Zynaptiq stuff going on here?? Thoroughly enjoy your work and creativity. Being a huge ELO / JL fan, you've brought a lot of joy over the past few months.
Yea he can call me and ask me when Georg is coming back . He wants to hire him. We would be set for life. He would do his music and I can focus on my Art.
The Shangri-La ending is balls. It just is. Brilliant. Hey Sir. Another WHO THE FUCK WAS AT THE MIXING BOARD song occurred to me you might consider fixing if and ONLY IF you felt like it. MANY years ago Elton John wrote a Christmas song. But the assholes at the board were asleep. I'm not a holiday type but if you are -- a BILLION Elton fans will thank you. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dcwOVtHdI4A.html (Was it too much echo? He sounds like he's singing from down the hall in the bathroom. And this is the REMASTERED version, lol.)
