Thank you so much Jeff! I was looking for a hybrid mattress and ended up buying the original Purple mattress. Mattress Firm carries them in their showroom where I live. After trying out several mattresses I was still unsure. As I was walking around the showroom I came across the original Purple mattress and thought I'd give it a try. I could not believe how much i liked it! Now, I'm a plus size gal and have arthritis and fibromyalgia. I have lots of pain, but with this mattress the pain is almost eliminated. I can actually wake up in the morning and easily move. The store had a deal if you spent so much on a mattress they would throw in an adjustable frame. Can't beat that! It did take some time getting used to it since I have always had innerspring mattresses but I love it! Great video by the way!

After beating my cpap, I finally get restful sleep, don't snore, & no more night sweats. The cpap saved my life.

I just bought it this morning. I'm 32 weeks pregnant and I need assurance that I made the right choice 😅❤❤❤ Thanks for this video. I actually got the bundle with the two pillows. Which made me feel guilty because they so dang expensive! I hope we all like it. Husband me and kids😂

If you are having trouble rolling around and pulling you sheets off the mattress. Go to fabric store buy elastic band amd sew diagonally across the corners of the sheets. The band will stay under the mattress and you wont ever roller your sheet off again until wash day. I dont mean diagonally all the way across like an x but just a 10 strip the cuts each corner off

I am a disabled Vietnam combat Vet. I have all kinds of sleep issues, everyone of which you discussed and answered my questions (I have sleep apnea, Ménière's disease, night sweats, tinnitus, breathing difficulties, Agent Orange watch list, etc., etc.) Side note: have always been in shape, 5' 9" and 175 lbs. Since getting out of the military I have taken NyQuil to get to sleep, and Ambien since it was available to consumers. Looking to improve my sleep situation and get off Ambien. Your video should be "evidence" to support the Vet Administration justification for giving me a "prescription" and doctor's order for a Purple Mattress and Power Base. Sounds like just the things I need to improve my sleeping situation, which currently is dismal. (VA says I may suffer from insomnia since even with sleep aids I get at most about five hours sleep.)

I am a tall heavy set girl with five blown discs in my back so it's not exactly easy to sleep and I've been told to look into this mattress. Your video was the first one that popped up when I typed it in on RU-vid so I took a look and I have to say I really appreciate how thorough and how educated you were about it. Come tax time again I will be getting this mattress.

Been on and off shopping for a new mattress over the past year, definitely need one. Your review convinced me to get a queen Purple, and the Power Base. Lots of money, but seeing how we spend so much time in bed, can't scrimp or go on the cheap with a mattress. (Someone else said that in a lifetime we spend 36 YEARS in bed. Holy sheet. That should convince people that getting a mattress is an important life's decision.)

I've had a purple mattress for 2 years. My wife sleeps all over the bed. I sleep like so am in a rotisserie spit.. I asked the representative before purchasing the mattress, "is there a problem with "canoeing" with this mattress?" If you don't know canoeing is when on a foam type mattress an indentation forms. I definitely have canoeing on my side of the bed, which only makes me sleep even more in one spot. I have read of others with this issue, and I hear Purple has a measurement for this which is a 1" indentation using a straight edge. They will replace the mattress, but only with the same kind of mattress you have (no upgrades). Also you have to provide the mattress tag for the warranty, which I likely cut off when it arrived.. Other than that, the mattress has been between good and great. It was a bit firm when we 1st got it, then it broke in and was good, and now my side has broken in a bit too much, but is still comfortable.. So, if you move around a lot on your bed, you will be fine. IF not, you will likely experience some canoeing..

I love this review! It was hard to find one that wasn’t sponsored or pushing a coupon code. :) You were very thoughtful in your response. Also considering sheets, you can buy from Bed Bath and Beyond (or most grocery stores with home departments) bed sheet fasteners. These changed my life because I also toss and turn and always wake up with my sheets off the bed or undone. Cheers!

My wife and I have had the '.2' queen for about 60 days and love it and don't find it too firm. After the first week we briefly discussed switching to the '.3', but after another week we concluded the '.2' is perfect - just the right amount of soft and support. We are around 60 - she is about 175 lb and I am 190 lb. My wife is a combo back/side sleeper and I am a combo stomach/side sleeper. Before this bed we've always slept on traditional spring mattresses on the firm side.

Bought pillows and a mattress yesterday after doing all the research for months. I have chronic back pain from recent car accidents and have tried numerous mattresses over the year and hope this style of mattress holds up to the hype. And yes, I got those sheets! LOL. Hubby and I just woke this morning from our first night’s sleep on a Purple mattress 4, king size. For the first time in years he awoke with no backache. We’re happy with our pillows and body pillows and we’re both side sleepers. We did not purchase the power base either. We figure we have that option in the future, should we choose to buy one. We laid on every mattress in the store. The Purple mattress felt oddly comfortable and it was the only one I liked. Hubs seemed sold on it too. The mattress was delivered the next day, which was early evening, yesterday. We like it and are very satisfied with our purchase. Sweet dreams!😴😴

Thank you for this! I have been considering this mattress and have many of the same challenges you described (sleep apnea, always hot, overweight). My PT said her parents bought one after one night's stay on one and still love it after 2 years.

I can't imagine paying thousands for a mattress and I have a fractured upper back and broken lower back. Those things are for people who can afford them and excludes me because I would have to take out a second mortgage on my house for 20 years and I'm not going to live another 20 years anyway!!!!! Love your honest review. I've been looking at the Purple mattress for a good while now. I threw a new memory foam mattress in the trash. Gave away a firm innerspring mattress a few months ago. I've had a Tuft and Needle mattress for over a year that I held on to and am sleeping on now. Heat, bad hip, hot flashes, ah, the horrors! Age, weight, bad hip, hard to turn over in bed, think I'll sleep on a rock! I've given up!

One of the most honest reviews that I have ever seen on RU-vid. I'm still not sure that I want to spent that money but you gave me a lot to consider. To be honest, I've slept on a waterbed since 1978. But I'm not totally happy as my bones are killing me, so I'm looking. (Just don't ask me to exercise because that would solve the problem) We bought "My Pillows" my wife is happy, but I'm just soso, but I have to say they are better than most pillows, you just have to remember to shake the pillow up. It is 100% washable/dryable and comes out like new, just Shake it up!!!! Thanks Jeff!

I'm so happy I found your review. I just ordered mine, the original. Perhaps someday I'll purchase the awesome powerbase, lol. I have fibromyalgia, so I hope this mattress will help. Everything hurts, and there is no comfortable position. I also ordered the pillow. It may help your viewers to know that if you purchase the Purple mattress from their site, they can try it at home free for 100 days. :) Update: It's been over 2 months since the Purple mattress and pillows arrived. This mattress has been literally a life changer. I've been an insomniac ever since I can remember. I would lie awake for hours, then finally get up until I would be so exhausted I could try to sleep once more. With the Purple, for the first time in my life I fall asleep immediately, and awaken refreshed (Before the Purple, when I'd awaken I'd feel groggy and like I had not slept at all. It was absolutely miserable). And I absolutely LOVE the original pillows. I love the feel of them. I adore the softness and squishiness and the way it cradles my head. Thank you Purple!!

What a wonderfully helpful video! Thank you for sharing so many aspects of why the best works so well for you and various aspects of it that Id not even thought about yet in my consideration of purchasing it It’s been so frustrating to watch so many vids with beds provided by Purple and no disclosure either written or verbal. Many came during this time of when yours was posted in a three month period. And it angers me that some large channels even close to 200k review this bed and all accessories purposely deceiving the viewer. Never an affiliate disclosure much less that the bed was send for review purposes free of charge. I find it wonderful creators are offered sponsored vids. It’s equally wonderful and right that said creators should receive PR in any form as it helps viewers when they are fairly reviewed. But this not disclosing bit is not only frustrating but illegal pet FCC guidelines. So to find a lovely creator who gives such in depth vids on this product was the exact info I and I’m sure many others were needing! So glad it’s help you so much and am now excited to order the bed and the accompanying items to try for our family. Best regards!

I have the Cal King purple bed. I Love it too. No more chiropractor appointments. The best bed I ever had. Best money I ever spent. And you are so right very hard to sleep on a hotel/ motel bed.

Bought our Purple about a year ago. LOVED it initially and now can't wait to get rid of it. I'm a big guy (6', 295 lbs), and there is not a huge valley where I sleep, a mountain range, and then the side where my wife sleeps. NOT good. I'm a stomach/side sleeper, mostly, and this thing is now killing my back. Far, far too much "sag" to it.

Matress firm now sells the purple matress. We tried it out yesterday we got the purple 2 a purple pillow a power adjustable bluetooth base 2 more pillows and the purple sheet protector for 1900$ big savings!

Denver matteress sells purple matteress products. I got mine from them three days ago. We got it for the pressure point relief feature because of my fibromyalgia. I did I haveto wait to set up for a day, due my husband finishing making our platform bed. . I am night two of having slept on it. And I can already say I love it arleady. It is so comfy. The past two nights it didn't take me long to fall asleep. When usually I lay in bed for along time before I fall asleep. My back hurts a bit still and achy still ,but I have heard you have to give 30 days to let your body adjust to the new matteress. Also got the matteress protector and sheets from purple ,but still wait to get them shipped to me since the Denver matteress store didn't have any in stock. When we brought our matteress, they only had one Queen in stock. They said it was extremely popular and they have hard time keeping them in stock.

Oh- almost forgot: Macy's carries the purple brand, so you can go lay on one there:-) But as Jeff said, "it takes a little getting used to", so it's hard to tell the first day.

Thanks for sharing! I have the Purple 3 and after 1yr ownership, will be filing warranty claim bc the zipper broke on the cover, and the grid is bunched under the cover near edges on both sides. Do your research before buying. Without defects, I like the mattress.

I'm currently in the process of moving into a new home and so of course I'm considering swapping out my mattress for a new one, you know new life NEW MATTRESS! hehe, thanks for the personal review, I'm a bit heavy myself so thanks for just a very informative honest review - you're just way more believable than the people who have these wild production values on their videos lol Also word of advice for your videos in case you haven't done this yet, try to get a foam board to prop up behind your camera paint it with a matte black or put a black sheet over it to reduce the glare in your glasses when you do these if you like where you're shooting or just shift yourself in a way where the sunlight from windows aren't bouncing back into the camera, it was just a little distracting while you were talking because I always want to look at your eyes when you speak haha otherwise great video!

You need sheet corner clips/fasteners/suspenders/straps. They are like mini suspenders that keep the corners down. Whats around your size? You could weigh anywhere from 300 to 400 pounds!

Just subbed I got one of these mattresses today at the county fair in San Diego they were doing 30% off so I saved a bunch only paid around 4k for the base and the mattress in a purple 4 queen along with two of the newer pillows sheets and the moisture wicking mattress cover

The Purple sheets are made of bamboo and are super stretchy and feel like a nice high end T- shirt material. They don’t pull off and are large enough to stay in place. I feel about the same as this guy,I bought the #3 mattress and power base. Get the extended warranty on the base,mine failed after about 3 months for no reason. They sent every part to my house and then a service tech and he got it going again and I haven’t had any issues again whatsoever.

I just went to Macy’s at the mall and tried out the #2 (springs) and wow was I impressed with how it felt compared to the original purple mattress and the other brand out there. We plan to go with the #3 very soon just trying to figure out which base we want.

I bought the Purple.2 in May, thinking it would be better than the original. I hate it! I've spoken to Purple and after watching a bunch of RU-vid videos, and talking to Purple, I'm "upgrading" to Purple.3, which is the recommended style for back/side sleepers like me (regular Purple base, not the powerbase). Glad you enjoy the Original. A couple online reviewers agreed that Purple.2 is firmer than Original and I was being "cheap" so I'm glad that I can afford (on a monthly payment plan) the 3 (not the 4").

I have a question if you can please answer. I just got my Purple Hybrid 2 last night. I slept on it and today my back hurts. That didn’t happened to me never with my old mattress. I also have the purple power base and the purple pillow as well. Even the purple cover and the purple sheets, I bought the whole combo 😂. My question is; how was your first week sleeping in the purple mattress? Did your back pain? I tried to elevate a bit the head to see if change but no. The problem is that I can not feel that comfort space between my and the mattress, I just feel like I’m sleeping in the floor but with a comfort pad. I said that because with my old mattress, my body used to get a comfort space between me and the mattress and I just could sleep all night in that position. I’m a side sleeper by the way and it was very difficult to sleep on the size, same problem, didn’t get the cushion I wanted. I know that we should allow around 2,3 nights to be able to make a good review. But my first night was so horrible that I don’t know if I can continue sleeping there. My other felling was that maybe my back was so damage from the old mattress that now with this purple mattress is fixing my back and that’s the pain. I will really appreciate if you can give me some comments about your experience, because I just spent almost $3.000 in purple and I’m just scared I will not be happy with this.

How is the mattress holding up for you in 2021? PS, jersey knit stretch sheets work just the same as the purple brand sheets & are far less expensive.

It’s a heavy mattress as much as 200 lb so yes it should handle heavy people and last a long time.
