And it’s why he fits in so well at an elite club like Madrid. The English media and fans need to categorically get it through their heads that you need a team full of players with Bellingham’s attitude if you actually want to win a major tournament. You all seriously need to watch teams like Argentina and Real Madrid play much more often. Because their players are not only incredibly skillful but brash, arrogant, know the dark arts of the game, and have dog mentalities. This English aversion to “attitudes” needs to stop. There was nothing wrong with Bellinghams work ethic, if he looked uninspiring it was because of other reasons, team set up, end of season Blues. I think we could have got much more for our Bellingham playing him deeper along side rice and Mainoo. Obviously he can play a 10 at real Madrid, but then they have the best midfield and defense in the world. Southgate is right we have missed kalvin Philipps. Playing Bellingham as an 8 might have done a bit more to compensate for that. Being Stuck out on the left, meant we could not profit from ball winning aspect of his game from deeper positions. Think rice would have been much happier too.

He scored the only goal in the opening game to help us top the group and scored a crucial equaliser in the knockouts to stop us going out early. And when he wasn’t scoring, he was still adding presence to the midfield. Why does there always need to be a villain. We went out because collectively, we weren’t good enough.

I don't mind confidence but if he wants to be the centre of attention then he needs to chill.
