We get a lot of questions about the Jones Spaceframe bicycle, so we compiled this video from various bits of footage we had of Jeff talking about the Spaceframe. Jeff has considered each aspect of the design with the goal of making the ultimate short-wheelbase bike, and this video explains some of the key features that make Jones Spaceframe unique. This isn't the whole story, but it gives a great look into the workings of this design.

the more that i listen to and watch videos from Jeff the more it makes sense. Thank you for breaking things down in such a way that a normal human can grock how geometry and bike engineering works...can't wait to start riding mine...

ima former bike mech, and bikefitter, i often seeing frame designs, and trying to make a bike that's my liking base from my experience and knowledge. seeing this bike is like seeing my design came to life. i was like "oh, this kind of bike is actually already exists" very nice.

Here's someone who doesn't just build bicycles, he's reworked the basic concepts that go into making a bike. I probably can't afford one of these, but maybe these ideas will one day show up in a mass produced model that anyone can afford.

Dan's Fat Tire Chronicles technically, but at the same time there's no place for a top front rack and I'm not sure if that bike is compatible for a rear rack either.

Great videos, lessons, tutorials, explanations, visuals & clarity from such a humble designer. Your passion is contagious. Any plans on Jones dealers ? Im convinced I want a Jones bike but I don't know if I want a SWB or Spaceframe. I want a real playful, quick handling agile bike. SWB sounds just right.

Are you going to offer your old short wheelbase bike in plus (wheel) size?

I’d buy one if it had the longer bikepacking type wheel base like my Trek 1120 Also it needs to be able to have panniers front and rear !

The Jones LWB Spaceframe has a longer wheel base than the trek 1120. For example; the large Trek 1120 has a wheelbase of 1142mm. The small LWB is 1150mm, medium LWB is 1177, large LWB is 1205mm. The LWB (or SWB) frame can accommodate a rack and rear panniers. The truss fork can accommodate front bags or the truss fork can be swapped out for the unicrown fork that can accommodate front panniers.

does the steel flex the same?

It flexes the same way but not as much. The steel Spaceframe is made with smaller tubes to allow them to flex more like titanium, but it is still a little stiffer.
