You can get by with the stock stator, but if your conditions make it run a lot, you will need more output, slavensracing.com/shop/hot-shot-stator-by-ricks-motorsport-electrics/
Hello Ryan: There is no harness plug-in on the FX350. You will need the FN3 fan kit that has a harness that goes to the battery. slavensracing.com/shop/radiator-fan-kit-for-ktm-husaberg-husqvarna-by-trail-tech/
Does the header cause the acerbis tank to get really hot due to it being alot closer to the header? Have a 2024 ktm 450sxf thinking of getting the 3.2 tank.
Hi Jeff. My 2024 350 XWF has a fan. I put a Vortex ECU in. Will the fan still work correctly with the new ECU I bought from Slavens? What controls the temp the relays, sensor, or ECU what? Thanks for your reply or anyone here.
@@slaverace1 Thanks Jeff. My bikes run so cool I haven’t noticed the fans coming on. I guess it’s because the Vortex’s and FMF Q4’s I got from Slavens solved the “Lean Running” condition like you’ve stated in previous videos. Thanks again for answering my question. A loyal customer from Pueblo.
I put the KTM one on my 2020 300xcw. (plugged into harness.) but now after running it i want it to come on at a lower temp. Is there a wiring harness, (to run to the battery and has a thermostat,) available that I can use with the fan I already have?
Have a look at the radiator fan arrangements on trials bikes - eg non-fi Sherco , they use a Comex fan and a small rectifier to send it 12vdc , it only runs when the motor is running and the thermo switch signals. Isn't an SX an MX bike ?
@@spatchist yeah KTM 250sx. It’s a dinosaur. Bare bones. Stator and coil is about all it has.. Honestly with how good lithium batteries are, I bet I can rig up a small computer style fan on a 12v power supply and tuck it away nice. I’ve thought about the same for a headlight. So many rechargeable lights out these days surely I can rig up something.
Hello: I sold that bike and bought an XCW. I did get by with the stock stator, but if your conditions make it run a lot, you will need more output, slavensracing.com/shop/hot-shot-stator-by-ricks-motorsport-electrics/
I have a 2004 450 EXC and with an IMS tank the fan kits just don’t fit. Easy way and cheaper way is to get a fan for a computer and get the one the moves the most air and they are all 12v anyway. Also they’re about an inch thick. I safety wire them to the radiator and wire them to a temp switch. Works just as good
Hello Ninja Dude: You have implemented a solution for a 20+ year old bike and hopefully it keeps working. For newer models, the Trail Tech kit is a great solution.
@@slaverace1 I have the KTM fan but like I said it wouldn’t fit unless I used the factory tank or a Clark tank. I kept it in case I pick up a newer bike then I could use it for that application. I’ve seen guys use a heat gun and mold the tank to clear the fan but haven’t tried it.
@@WeaponsEducation Fan will work, you maybe need to wire to a handle bar switch and to the battery, my 2023-300xc, works fine with the 30 watt spal fan, its rather exceptional.
Not if you only run a fan. If you intend to add a headlight, yes you will need to upgrade stator. I've been using the FNTrail Tech Fan Jeff mentions on my 23 300 XC with no problems but I also do not have a headlight.
@@slaverace1 wow- I have a 2023 FE501S and was tempted to remove mine and install an aftermarket white radiator hose kit, but was worried about damage.
@@TheFretwrecker We have been removing thermostats for many years and we replace them with high quality, made in Europe, Samco Sport slavensracing.com/shop/radiator-hose-thermostat-bypass-kit-for-husqvarna-125cc-501cc-by-samcosport/ silicone hoses, not cheap Chinese hoses.
@@slaverace1 Where I live in NJ, when we ride in fall / winter, sometimes it gets down to 20-40 degrees, and I've been advised against riding without a thermostat. Thanks for the helpful link to the quality product.
@@TheFretwrecker Hello: Unfortunately the internet is full of bad information. The thermostat does very little to control engine temps past the warm up period. We are in Colorado, so I'm very familiar with riding in cold temps and the thermostat is useless. If you want optimal engine operating temps (180-190 degrees) when riding in cold temps, you must block off one radiator with cardboard or plastic sheet and the temps should be monitored slavensracing.com/shop/water-temperature-digital-gauge-ktm-husaberg-trail-tech/.
