He's an excellent guitarist- was watching a vid of him in Uncle Tupelo and it stood out in one song, how good he already was. He has quite a collection of guitars too.

It could be taken that way, but it's a saying. You've never heard the expression, 'A Shot In The Arm', i.e. needing a kickstart, a positive uplifting experience to encourage someone along.
Right!? and the night before he had people just talking and talking very loudly.. seriously security needs to be on it more.. ruins the experience for others!
I feel like if Jeff wasn't so painfully introverted and somewhat awkward, there would be less heckling. There's a lot of heckling at Tweedy/Wilco shows.
really? I don't understand the psychology of a heckler. You paid money to yell something sucks while the artist still laughs all the way to the bank lol.
