A friend of mine had one of these '87 Aerocoupes. The 305 might be gutless by today's standards, but back in the late 80's his Monte Carlo could keep up with or pass almost anything else we ran across. Cars in the 80's were ALL gutless, so that wimpy 305 was a real killer back then.
That was hilarious at the end,,, the guy in the passenger seat couldn't get out of there quick enough... And just when he thought it was safe,,, more white knuckles in the parking lot... Awesome build!!!
This car brings back memories of when I was 18 and worked for a small buy here pay here dealership and in the showroom was an 87 Monte SS with a fully built and stroked high compression 572 running on Turbo Blue and the chassis only had 149 miles on it...yes, 149 miles. It was all black with red striping and accents. It had a line lock and a manual valve body on the built 700R4. Beautiful car. He also had a 65 Chevy C10 with the same engine and drivetrain in it.
Had a 87 in 88, kept it ten years, now enjoying a pristine 85 example .Reliving the dream all over again. Thanks for your "Jegs Class"" of what it's all about!!!
All around gr8 build video. Everything about this build was on point. What I really like is the fact that they kept all of there f ups made the look like something me and my friends would have done
Much better! Next time it would be cool to have a little more info on the parts used - like what rack and pinion kit was used? Also it would be cool to have some data points like 0-60, 1/4 mile time, lap times, skid pad before and after.
Now I’m think about my 87 EuroCap Cutlass. She would be a monster with these mods, but I sold her 13 years ago. I may need to get me another one. Love the build.
