Watchtower created the monster named gossip and now it's turned on them. Did they not encourage their members to snitch on one another? Is it not a Watchtower sin if a member is silent when sees so called bad habits or 'immorality' occurring?

I was a JW for 25 years and all the congregations I was in were full of judgemental gossiping people,mostly gossiping about other brothers and sisters!

Time and time again I read or hear about people who attempt to “make the truth their own” and every single time it backfires and causes them to leave. The teachings of the Jehovah’s witnesses fall apart upon the slightest examination. I was able to determine that for myself at the tender age of 16

My heart goes out to you. Your hesitation may be due to the underlying fear of the unknown. One thing you may not have experienced yet is unconditional friendship. Not to say you will find good friends immediately, but at least you have the freedom to choose your associates! If you’re as backwards as I was about this process, just go slowly, in general people have good intentions & most ‘worldly’ people do like us! ☺️

Sorry you haven't been feeling well. Be concerned more with you and your life, and continue to do some research, to figure out for sure where you stand, get all your questions answered. You cannot always live in fear of what others may think, because you can't live your life for other people and their opinions. I can understand the fear involved though, there's fear of the unknown, and the indoctrination fear from within this organization. I remember years ago doing research at the library, thinking im going to be in trouble, is lighting going to stike me, is another witness here somewhere and going to report on me. I'm so glad I'm out, did my research, I have not a one iota of a thought, that this is a high control, group, which keeps their members controlled by fear and by being shunned. I'm so glad I got out before I got married and I had kids, I couldn't imagine putting them through what I had to deal with growing up. Anyway I hope you find what you are looking for.

That’s the point ! You’re so afraid of these control freaks that you can’t take time to rest and feel better! You just know you’re going to get emotionally abused when you get back . Just tell them you were sick! Just that one sentence and don’t explain any further. If they mention that video about that person with cancer dragging themselves to meetings or service . Just shrug and don’t say anything then tell them you want to go to the bathroom or you forgot something. Then leave! You don’t have to explain yourself! Be a little rude if you have to.

Reminds me of when I made an Instagram post while pimo of one of my gothic outfits and a lot of my cousins sent it back and forth to each other then I got calls from one of them saying my post had everyone in “a tizzy” and also when someone from the congregation I was in found my tiktok and sent it to the elders lucky for me I was just about to tell them I was done with the organization and I made that my official exit

I think its control of the Witnesses not being close to each other. I say that because the Witnesses aren't good at being close true friends with each other. Everyone is friendly but there's always a cold distance amoung the group. Everyone stays to themselves unless its related to a group situation. I guess its hard to explain unless you live it and then leave it and step back and reflect.

Yes exactly. Even as a kid I picked up on the weird vibe inside the hall and would leave as soon as the meeting ended and sit in my parents car until they left. I could see though the fake smiles and friendliness at a early age.

All the brouhaha about a JW gal simply promoting her little business on social media really highlights the meddling, judgmental nature of JW culture as fostered by the Watchtower leadership & hierarchy. Petty nitpicking, scrutinizing, trifling, tattling, judgmental criticism, jealousy and conditional love are all standard behavior characteristics of JW culture ! ! I know and have experienced it 1st hand.

In the JW community, as for hearing both sides of the story, well what about a Witness who stays overnight at the home of someone of the opposite sex that they are related to, or if they're staying overnight in the home of someone who is known to be gay? If a Jehovah's Witness does either of those things, the Elders of their congregation will automatically assume that you were having sex with them, basically, and then you'll be asked to appear before a Judicial Committee comprised of three congregation Elders. You can be disfellowshipped and shunned for that. In JW culture, you're guilty until you can prove your innocence.

OMG years ago my car broke down at night outside a JWs house that were related to me in marriage,this JW was a female single sister and had her grown up daughters at home also,I was going to sleep in my car until I could fix it the next day but went in and asked if I could possibly sleep on the floor? I was not in the religion but used to be, the sister phoned an elder to see if it was OK to stay he said NO! So I was made to sleep in this sisters garden under the moon with a blanket because I was not a JW and could of slept with the mother how crazy are these people to judge me that day as this was the last thing on my mind! So many elders have power over the congregation its unreal but that power sometimes seems to be unbalanced!

I have watched so many videos that tonight I even dreamt about Lloyd and his family. In my dream I met them all on a bus vacation in Scandinavia, when our buses stopped at the same restaurant (the place had simple food but a beautiful green outside area with tables and a playground) for a meal break. Lloyd and his wife and kids seemed very happy and delighted about their Scandinavia tour. In the dream we had a short and pleasant conversation about some cult that had been on the news (and I felt I sounded like an atheist, even though I am agnostic), and then I decided I'd give them some privacy and went back to my own friend's table where an old friend whom I haven't seen in years suddenly showed up wanted to make an interview with me for his magazine about how my young self would have viewed my presend self and my present life (I felt the topic was ment as a subtle criticism and tried to get away). Sorry, this is so off topic! 😅

When I was in, a sister that was visiting, who had a grudge against me, went to my elders and told them a lie about me. Instead of asking me about it, or asking her for proof, the elders went around to all my friends in the congregation and asked if they had seen me doing what she said. She didn't need to spread the rumor the elders did it for her.

I was sent here by another exJW here from my RU-vid channel. I am in South Africa and am South African. I was born in a family of JW, became one by baptism at 19. I married a JW, little did I know that I was marrying a psychopath that drugged the whole family and raped both me and our biological first born. This continued for years. The elders wanted a second witness to the matter yet expressed disappointment of me going to the police. This surfaced in 2012.

Hi Lloyd, I like how you analyze the words. Regardless of you being exJW , when help with boxes is requested, it is with clear intention of stopping the conversation. Also, "I am going to have X to do Y" ... well, where that beautiful approach with reflection allowing the person to make the conclusion, by his own, is gone? Thank you for sharing your thoughts, which I think are an invitation to think and not an imposition to accept.

One of the 10 commandments states: Do not say a false witness against your neighbor... ( Including family members and cong.members) A lie is a lie ... nobody should spread a lie. But when it comes to speak the truth Don't feel afraid to speak .... And he said: Lesson both sides of the story... Very true... Is that the way when they. Say tor CSA to be quiet??? Is speaking the truth ,the same of spreading a lie??? Crist open his mouth when he needed to criticize the faresies. But He was in silence when Pilatos question him. i left 2 months ago blocking all my contacts even my dad. 10 years i lost. thats what i saw gossip everywhere theyd say not all congregations are like that funny iv never been to a congregation that was good. i ended up with basically ptsd trauma from the religion especially leaving was the worst treatment, shunned and im only classed as inactive too. so judgemental. funny how they say non witnesses dont care or have your best interest and cant be your friend yet i have great friends who are non witnesses. yet as soon as you leave jws shun you.

On this ridiculous "don't ask questions outside the church" stance they take, I do note witnesses in general appear oblivious to the contradiction of talking about others as much as possible about their religion but not being willing to listen to others' thoughts on it. People who spend much of their free time talking about religion will tell you they don't have time for it when you bring it up. Does anyone else wish they could just shake some sense into these people?

I was raised as a JW, but had the courage to leave as an adult. As an educated adult, seeing dramatizations such as these, makes me contemplate how we ever accepted such manipulation. Beyond any doubt, not only is the Society’s dramatization so disconnected from reality, it also proves how deeply routed this psychological manipulation and control was forced onto all of us. From a strictly objective point of view, this just is not reality. The content is nothing more than a fictional fairytale. But unfortunately it is not a fairytale, so many kind, caring and loving human beings (including my own family) are so brainwashed, it would be easier to win the lottery than imagine they would escape the indoctrination and manipulation on their own. Truly a sad and hopeless state of affairs, but remember, everyone is discouraged to think for themselves.

I have a strange question... There is a famous youtuber named Jaime French who does comedy sketch videos (she used to do make up tutorials) and she has said on many occasions she's a devout JW. I know she sings at the conventions as she talks about it. How can a JW be devout and doing things like ... oh, you know, spending hours every week staring at themselves online, making online content about themselves etc. and not be torn to ribbons by their elders for being vain?

Much of the time was spent endeavoring to find proof, some backing in history, for the 607 B.C.E. date so crucial to our calculations for 1914. I don't think JW's will ever stop the gossip and finger pointing. To be fair it's not a JW's only issue. But I remember so much gossip, bad gossip, and even a degree of competition among many brothers. Most elders' wives don't keep good secrets either. But I think it's in human nature for people to gossip, and point fingers at others. something you must unlearn! JMHO...

A couple thoughts about that bit at the end... the JW are pretty clear on their stance about who is "head of household", to be sure. But there's a step beyond even that: the guy is not willing to speak to Miz Hayley himself, wanting his wife to do it instead. Is that because they're both women? Not quite sure where they're trying to go with this.

Once, when they wern't gossiping in the 80's, Jehovah's Witness Technicians developed an electronic system enabling them to translate and print Bible literature in over 370 (R) 370 different languages, quickly and efficiently. So, time zones permitting, the same subjects could be studied by thousands, the same day, using the latest literature. With so many languages now in print, many smaller countries and even various multi-dialect tribes could be approached and offered the good news of the New System, just round the next bend. Also fullfilling the Lord Jesus's ORDER, to "Make disciples of people of all the Nations, baptising them in the NAME, of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit". So far, the JW's are the only ones obeying that order. Most other religeons don't even allow Jehovah's name to be mentioned, let alone tell that he would pick a people FOR his name. (Acts 15v14-17). Most Bibles don't even have his name in them, using the excuse that it too Holy for mere mortals to use. Sadly, some of the mis-handling of CSA cases, and one or two other queries of late haven't done his name or the Organization any favors, but as the Prophecy states, when the time is up, he starts the retribution with his own house first.! 1 Peter 4v17. "Goodnite Vienna" time for those guilty.,!

@@misterauctor7353 it certainly is sir, both YARWEH and JEHOVAH are perfectly acceptable.!In fact if you Google Joel P Kramer, the Bible Archeologist, he has a vid showing the Ancient Egyptian symbols for the letters sygnifying Yahweh, which I understand the Jewish people prefer to use. (Which is not often)........And omitted from most Bible translations.!

I,m now a 61 yr old born again atheist, apostate with a beautiful 50 yr old pimi jw wife Nicole who I drive to and from field service groups and meetings who still loves me very much except for my new beliefs and channel , she's asked me not to mention her in my channel, so I don't . I try to be a better person everyday, so when her jw friends ask about me in morbid curiosity she can tell the single sisters,, find yourself a apostate they make the best husbands.
