Ben Burns I stopped serving a false god. No need to be saddened by that. Do you know how God got me out of the JWS? I opened my heart to him, was willing to be wrong and prayed for his truth and guidance and asked him to send someone to teach it to me. The next day, he did. And in three days, he liberated me. And yes, at the time, I called God, Jehovah. Now that I know better, I’ve stopped calling the God of the universe a pet name that didn’t exist until the 13th century and was originally inserted into a heretical “Bible” by William Tyndale. That “Bible” got Tyndale executed by the Protestant King Henry VIII.

Hebrew scholars the name of the Almighty God is "Ye-Ho-VaH, Jehovah is closer to Yehovah than Jesus is to his Hebrew name of Yᵉhowshu‘a or the Greek version of Iesous. i feel sorry for you for leaving our great God. may yoy realise your mistake and return to him.

I’m a former JW. Learning about CC now and my mind is blown regarding the true history of Christianity and the CC.

I knew one guy who left the JWs but got disfellowed with his dad so at least he had someone to talk and work with. I’ve heard for those that get disfellowed on their own it’s particularly bad in most cases due to them losing their entire social sphere

They’re only a tool especially for the times where people were illiterate and couldn’t read the Bible so they could understand the story of God. Sola Scriptura is a false teaching and it’s heresy

Penance, Temporal punishment, Indulgence ect... plus you must do works by purging your sins in purgatory before heaven.... Jesus payed the price for our sins! According to scripture works of the law for salvation has been removed in the apostle Paul’s writings in the age of grace. A different dispensation. When you believe the gospel that Jesus died was buried and rose on the third day 1Corinthians 15:1-4 and you are reborn with a repentant heart that Jesus shed his blood and washed you clean from all your sins and you trust what Jesus did for you and I on the cross as a gift. You are saved? You are a new creature in Christ and is sealed with the Holy Spirit. We are God’s workmanship until Good Works. The Salvation is a sealed deal, but now it’s your part to step up to the plate and be a practicing Christian. The Bible says we must run the race so we can have crowns to cast at Jesus feet.. I a former Catholic personally left because I believe the pure word of God the Holy Bible is the final authority the Catholic Church teaches in the Catechism that the church has equal authority to the Holy Bible. As a Catholic you never knew if you were going to heaven or not when you die. The promise of God’s word says otherwise Titus1:2, Ephesians 1:13, Ephesians 4:30, Romans10:9-13 Ephesians 2:8-9 ect.. This is not Purgatory. It reconfirms in this passage your saved by the fire. Modern Bibles changed this to get cleansed by the fire. This is false.

@@Oculoustuos , this is what Jesus said in Matthew 23:8 “… one is your teacher and all of you are brothers.” Matthew 15:9 “It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach commands of men as doctrines.” Jesus warned of blind guides, false prophets and false teachers (ravenous wolves dressed in sheep clothing) and so forth. Organized Religion has brought nothing but suffering and misery to humankind. Jesus wanted us to be free, (“The truth will set you free”) he wants us to exercise free will and only follow him. Some people practice their faith through works. It's in the bible to love one another as we love ourselves. And sometimes that is through charity, through works "living faith". Just believing in God and not doing anything sounds lazy to me with all the lifetime we have on earth. We must do good and that is a way we honor God.

Luther killed 100,000 peasants in the peasants revolt, the Church in the Inquistion on the other hand only killed around 5000 over hundreds of years, and they were executed by the Civil authorities for violating laws of the state.

You're creating a division that does not exist. Religion is the re-linking of man with God. Salvation is the re-link. Practicing the religion is plainly and simply living the faith in salvation.

The Bible tells us that Jesus established a Church. Upon this Rock I will build my Church (Matt 16:18) ONE CHURCH (not churches). The Bible tells us that this Church is the Pillar and Foundation of the Truth 1 Timothy 3:15. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 1:23 that the Church founded by Jesus Christ is the Body of Christ and is the fullness of him who fills all in all. In John 14:6 Jesus says he is the Truth. The Church is the fullness of Jesus Christ, the Bible is very clear on that. Jesus says that he is The Truth, so if the Church is the fullness Jesus Christ then the Church founded contains the fullness of the Truth and MUST teach the truth in its fullness. It cannot teach error. The Catholic Church claims that it contains the fullness of the truth given to us by Jesus Christ. It also claims to be founded directly by Jesus Christ. Does your Church even claim this? 1 Tim 2:4 God desires all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. Knowing the truth saves us. So if the Catholic Church contains the fullness of the truth, God will desire that all people be in the Catholic Church where the fullness of Truth resides. John8:32 Then you will know the Truth and Truth will set you free. Wouldn’t a Church founded by Jesus Christ and teaching the fullness of truth know it was founded by Jesus Christ? One clue to know if a Church belonged to Jesus would be to check if it at least claimed to be founded by Jesus. If a Church does not claim to be founded by Jesus Christ we have to keep looking. Very few Churches make this claims. If Jesus came 2000 years ago to directly set up a Church how old should this Church be? The Catholic Church can be traced back to the first Pope, the Apostle Peter himself through a lawful chain of succession which is 2000 years old. When was the Lutheran Church founded? In the 1500’s. It cannot be the Church founded by Jesus Christ. When was the Watchtower Corporation founded? 200 years ago? It cannot be the Church founded by Jesus Christ. I only know of one Church with a 2000 year lineage to the Apostles. The Church that gave us the Bible through its Bishops and Councils.

Page 6 of the November 1st edition of the Watchtower in 2009 states "The majority of good people will live forever on earth​-not in heaven," and claim this to be "paradise" despite that nowhere in the new testament does the bible ever call the earth a paradise. You actually find the opposite is true three times in Luke 23:43, 2Co 12:4 and Rev 2:7 where it's clear as day that paradise is NOT earth, exists NOW and is concurrent, and is the abode and kingdom of Christ our Lord and Savior who sits next to the Father in HEAVEN.

The rock that the Christian congregation was set up on was Jesus, not Peter. Jesus never put any one person in charge. The 12 apostles had plus Paul all had equal billing. There was no apostolic succession as Peter was not the first pope. the idea of a pope is man made tradition. The title “pope” was unknown to the apostle Peter. Moreover, no early Christian thought that a primacy supposedly given to Peter had been transmitted to any successors Consistent with this, many of the “Church Fathers” wrote that the rock of Matthew 16:18 is Christ. Peter was a Jew and well aware of the sayings about the promised messiah and was been familiar with various Hebrew prophecies speaking of a “stone” or a “cornerstone.” (Isaiah 8:13, 14; 28:16; Zechariah 3:9) When he quoted one of them in a letter to his fellow believers, Peter explained that the prophesied “cornerstone” was the Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah. Peter used the Greek term pe’tra (the same word found in Jesus’ statement at Matthew 16:18) for Christ alone.-1 Peter 2:4-8. Galatians 2:9 is interesting in this matter. It is the words of Paul .. • “and when they acknowledged the grace that had been given to me, then James and Cephas and John, who were the ones recognised as pillars,...” (New Jerusalem Bible) Did you notice that Peter (Cephas) was not isolated out as the one in charge, but was recognised as *_one_** of the pillars* of the congregation along with James and John. Paul is saying that there was more than one pillar to congregation. Now if Peter had been appointed by Jesus as the head of the congregation, how could he simply be recognised, that is to say, supposed or thought by his fellow believers, to be *just a pillar* and not the pillar? So how are we to understand the words: “You are Peter and on this rock I will build my community”? To understand that correctly, we need to read its context. What were Jesus and Peter speaking about? Jesus had just asked his disciples: “who do you say I am?” Without hesitation, Peter answered: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” With that, Jesus commended Peter and then added that he would build his “community,” or congregation, or if you prefer church, on an even more solid “rock,” the one in whom Peter had just expressed faith-Jesus himself.-Matthew 16:15-18. Truth is important in worshipping God. There fore we must God in the manner that Jesus worshipped his God You are correct truth will set one free, free from bondage to pagan introduced ideas such as the trinity, hellfire, immortal soul. Those teachings just can not be found in the Bible unless one corrupts the Bible by mistranslated words.

Here's the ONLY difference: The Roman Catholic Church is the ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC & APOSTOLIC CHURCH, built by God Jesus Christ, through St. Peter, the rock. He built just ONE Universal Church, not churches. And please don't forget that God Jesus Christ didn't left us a Bible. He left us with A UNIVERSAL CHURCH, THE RCC. The other so-called churches, more than 40,000 of them & counting daily, (a violation of God Jesus Christ's teaching of ONE SHEPHERD, ONE FLOCK), are the so called Bible Churches. Also, please imagine the first 1,500 plus years before Martin Luther's heretical rebellion against the Universal Church, there was only ONE CHURCH=the RCC.

My friend, you seem reasonable as well but have you ever asked yourself some basic questions too like what authority declared the canon of the New Testament to be scripture? If the Bible is the only source of truth then the Bible itself would have to say which books belong in it, and it doesn't. The Bible ad a whole didn't exist until the late 4th century. So everyone else before then was outta luck? What any Christian Faith outside the Catholic Church lacks is authority, infallible authors. Did you know that in scripture when it is said "as the father has sent me so I send you" to SEND someone in those times mean you speak with the authority of. The apostles acted without scripture and without Jesus being with them anymore. Where did they get that authority? The decided in the council of Jerusalem that gentlies would not have to become circumcised to first become Christians. This authority has been handed down from the apostles to today.

The Catholic Church has existed for almost 2,000 years under the promised guidance of the Holy Spirit. Protestantism - a divided revolutionary movement - started with Martin Luther (a rebel Catholic) in the 16th century. Please study the early Church Fathers to see that the early Church is the Catholic Church of today. The Church is the pillar and foundation of the truth (1 Tim 3:15) - not the Bible that comes from the sacred traditions of the Catholic faith.
