I don't care if these cartoons were aimed at girls or whatever, but there's an incredible amount of production quality here, this is kino. You not only have to have a top notch music team to compose all the songs, but also a coreography team working closely with the animators to make everything click together.
I enjoyed pretty much every song from all three bands in the show...but this song stands out quite a bit more to me than most of the other Misfits songs. I just loved the music and the lyrics. :)
@IntrinsicEmpress you are right about that. Pizzazz, Roxy, Stormer, Clash, and Jetta weren't bad, they just had problems. Pizzazz was a rival to Jem like Vegeta was to Goku, Sasuke to Naruto, Koga to Inuyasha, Sagat to Ryu, Ayane to Kasumi, Shadow to Sonic, Kenpachi to Ichigo, and Ino to Sakura.
THE MISFITS BACKING VOCALS ARE SO FREAKING TIGHT ON THIS ONE! BTW, IF YOU READ JEM'S CLOSING SERIES' CREDITS. YOU'LL NOTICE THAT ALLOT OF DISCO (& FREESTYLE) SINGERS SANG BACKGROUND VOCALS ON ALLOT OF THESE JEM SONGS: DIVA GREY, ULLONDA MCCOLOUGH, & CINDY VALENTINE (FROM THE ORIGINAL EXPOSE' GROUP). JUST TO NAME A FEW. & LET'S NOT FORGET THAT DISCO LEGEND VICKI SUE ROBINSON ("TURN THE BEAT AROUND"), & HER BACKING MALE VOCALIST GORDON GRODY DID ALL OF THE SINGING PARTS FOR RIOT. WHILE, VICKI PROVIDED ALL SINGING VOCALS FOR BOTH, RAPTURE & MINX; OF THE STINGERS. TRUE. YOU CAN REALLY HEAR VICKI'S VOCALS ON THE STINGERS' SONG DESTINY; SHE REALLY ADLIBS ALLOT AT THAT SONGS' ENDING. ;)
I forgot the name of that episode, but it was about when Jem, the Holograms & the Misfits got stranded on a deserted island & had to get off it. Just like Gilligan's Island (except THEY got off) ;)
Wait, if I understand correctly, don't the Misfits actually have talent and fashion ideas? Aren't Jem and the Holograms just that? Overproduced Holograms?
The Misfits had better music than Jem and the Holograms, despite the fact the Misifts didn't have all the electronic gizmos working for them that Jem's group had.
See? This is why kids grow up rooting for the bad guys. You are supposed to root for holograms over real live women with real feelings and concerns. I think I am going to sue the makers of Jem. I been traumatized!
Hey who's that voice/announcer in the beginning who says: "NOW A SPECIAL REPEAT PERFORMANCE..."... it sounds just like that kid who narrated the musical "Starlight Express" (In England, anyway)!!
@YellowTexasRose90 ur right she had money and everything material except her mom. her mom left when she was just a little kid and her dad was always busy so she basically had no parents to love her. she was lonely.
hehe, see up there, someone has already thought the same thing before when he/she said "and Destiny's Child thought they were being original" ahahahaha!!!
YA' KNOW? I'VE ALWAYS FELT THAT THEY STOLE 'SURVIVOR' FROM THIS SONG. SO GLAD TO SEE THAT I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE TO THINK THIS! BTW, IN MANY INTERVIEWS.. BEYONCE' HAS SAID THAT SHE (& THE OTHER GIRLS) "LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THE JEM & THE HOLOGRAMS CARTOON SERIES"! TRUE. SO.., THERE YOU GO! LOL. ;)
I know the Misfits have a bad rep, but then again, I don't care. They're music and style is more diverse and trendy. Jem and the Holograms, however, always sing about love and morality and it sounds sugary to the point that your teeth hurt. "Beat This" and "Last Laugh" are their only fierce songs. If Jem is ever rebooted, I hope their music would be as upbeat as The Misfits. Just because they're the protagonists, doesn't mean they have to be all rainbows and unicorns.
Yeah, well lots of people would take that over what they have any day. Oh booo hooo! My mommy! I already have everything money could buy but not my mom! I would trade my mom in for 300 bucks on most days.
