It is one of the most notable animations from the 80's (which overflows with notable animations). Good stories, good characters, and granted it was focused on girls but the stories could be enjoyed by all. No reason to be afraid of anything.
Let me tell you something... Mary Stormer Phillips maybe "the cutest girl you ever want to meet", but knowing her enough I would watch out because she's the first person that would STAB YOU ON THE BACK. She's THAT dangerous. That dual personality (Marvel created Typhoid Mary in 1988, about a year after this episode debuted in US, partially based on Marvel Productions experience with Mary Stormer) makes her so interesting to watch. It seems the "Creative Barn" of this cartoon forgot to use the ("shipped" elsewhere as "Stormber") relationship anywhere else during the Series. It would take until 2015 IDW comic books to take it further (and you may know how that went).
@@syxepop She's not really evil or dangerous, she's just misguided and lost in her own view of fitting in with the wrong crowd and think that's where she belongs.
I really liked this episode but i think it missed a chance to humanize the other misfits. I genuinely believe the misfits care about each other, but due to their upbringings, it harmed their ability to show empathy and warped their view of relationships. Like, pizazz trying to spoil stormer with gifts instead of giving her what she actually wanted...love and respect, very much mirrors how she was treated growing up. Lavished with materialistic things, but never given proper attention, affection or validation.
Their egos and longing to be better than the Holograms get the better of them sometimes and don't realize that they may care about one or the other, without realizing it.
I find myself wondering, with all the close interaction between Jerrica and Stormer, if Stormer ever learned that Jerrica and Jem are the same person. She was invited to join the Holograms, and every Hologram knows Jerrica's secret.
I think Kimber and Stormer learned teamwork friendship Kimber showed Stormer kindness and Stormer knows Kimbers friends care about her unlike the Missfits I'm glad Kimber and Stormer became friends but I think after The Misfits reconciled I think Stormer had to maintain her bad girl image against the Holograms but I think Kimber and Stormer had to do that to maintain their image
The teammates outvoted Kimber on the ballad, while Misfits dared to Kick out Stormer ?? What a nightmare for the rival members to have a breakdown, they might team up!!!
I knew that despite being a Misfit, Stormer is not pure evil or dangerous in the slightest. I believe that she only acted the way she did in the first season and other episodes because she's still misguided on what it means to be part of the crowd when it comes to love and acceptance. Even if she wanted to leave, the rest of the Misfits realize they are nothing without her, if only they learned to treat her right and be kinder to each other. Maybe there wouldn't be such bad rivalry between them and the Holograms.
I guess Hasbro had re-used some things from Jem into My Little Pony's Equestria Girls. Jem had The Misfits and EQG had The Dazzlings. Later on EQG had Postcrush and Jem had Stormer and Kimber. And in all it totally worked for both Hasbro's cartoons.
My absolutely favorite episode. Kimber and Stormer are perfect @7:25-7:30 when Stormer lowered her head just enough Jerrica and the other Hologram's faces; obviously their thoughts were that Kimber had gone over to the Misfits. Also @12:00 & 12:05 i always found interesting that Pizzazz tailed the Holograms with Jem in front of her
Good story, & change of pace for the groups. Ha, the Limp Lizards. And those banana split sundaes- can't have drinks mistaken for alcohol. 😉 Wow, that contract. Tough for Jerrica to get through to her. Nice success w/help. I liked the montage. Great ep.
A great episode of my two favs and i also like aja to❤❤❤❤❤and i also like clash and ashley, i wish this was still on Netflixs i used to watch it all the time with harry potter and the baby sitters club ❤
Very good job dudes and nicely well done!! Congratulations 994.84% yo throughout the 4th sizzling patriotic hot week of said amazing August y'all. I know what Kimber is going through. There were times where I tried to talk to my family and no one would listen.
3:33 this may be a hot take, but the Limp Lizards are my favorite band on the show. I think they sang the "broken glass" song at the first battle of the bands in the original episodes. Real sad punk energy 😄
Man, I know Jem is an 80s cartoon and could NOT go anywhere near this topic in any explicit detail, but my modern cheeky brain cannot ignore the “coming out” undertones between Stormer and Kimber throughout this episode. I know because of that god-awful live action movie we’re probably never going to see Jem on the screen again, but if the modern Jem cartoon were to come out, you guys at Hasbro have the blueprints right here.👀😏
@@guidadiehl9176 Always have to have atleast one you usual suspects skulking about... And as per usual, you seem to be the only weirdo here obsessed to make people pointing out the romantic undertones in this here kids show episode to be about sex.
@@guidadiehl9176 Always have to have atleast one of you usual suspects skulking about. Gotta say, aside from you, I don't see anyone in particular here being all that weird about the romantic tropes and undetones here.
That song that Kimber and Stormer song I think she and her both sang the song because Stormer and her came up with the idea of that song and plus Mary Stormer is a nice lady Craig help mention that she was too good for the Misfits and that she was a nice person since her brother mentioned that to her
