Jeni Britton Bauer has changed the ice cream game for good by bringing a lifelong dedication to creating deliciously authentic ice cream, without compromising flavor, to cones across the country. Jeni’s flavors are unreal! And reading into how she crafted her flavors it’s beyond impressive to see the science that goes into each batch. Cream cheese and corn starch are two ingredients I’ve never put into my ice creams but after today you best believe I’ll be experimenting even more with these!
Today we’re making Jen’s famous Salty Caramel ice cream! Thankfully, Jeni wrote an Ice Creams at Home book with tons of recipes, including this one. I’ve never made a caramel ice cream the authentic way so I’m so happy to have tried this. As you’ll see, Rae and I had a blast putting this one together! I had to refer back to the book a lot because the process is different from what we typically do but that’s what makes her ice cream so special!
