www.cbc.ca/q Jennifer Beals, originally of 'Flashdance' fame, continues to have a stand-out acting career. Her latest lead role films in her home town - Chicago.
I could watch her speak for hours. Just simply watch...then rewind and listen. She's a visual treat--so graceful and lovely-- on top her wonderfully intelligent presence.
I just want to add - I love this interviewer. He managed to ask interesting questions and even push her to reveal more of herself than she normally would but he did it with so much finesse that it was an utter joy to watch.
I could just listen to her speak for hours! i am enamorred by this woman always have been since 1984. She is just so darn beautiful inside and out and like a fine wine she gets better with age!
You can pay for surgery, go to gym 24/7 and whiten your teeth twice a year but Jennifer's face is a god gift. In love with her although she's my mum's age.
What an amazing woman! She would definitely be one of my fantasy dinner guests...She seems to be so deep and intense and passionate...Would be an incredible experience to share time with her, talking....
She says one thing that she's learned from her decades of experience is that "no effort goes unwasted ... no effort goes unwasted". She seems very sincere with that thought, and it's perceptive and insightful, but doesn't she really mean the opposite: "no effort goes to waste", or am I missing her meaning ?
Jennifer, you say as a child you searched for God. You amazing woman, for your efforts, God radiates from you. You exudeby your words and haracter that He is with you always. You are the sunshine on the darkest day. Ne er change and keep building on the blocks you're are given by the highest power. You are LOVE and you ARE loved.
@rgar1973 Ah. Well said. Thanks for that. I catch your meaning, and I agree. This (correct) interpretation assumes "wasted" in this context is synonymous with "spent" or "used". I guess my quibble with it is because I've always considered "wasted" (unlike spent/used) to be a negative/undesired outcome, such that one wouldn't WANT something of theirs (effort or otherwise) to be wasted.
JB sounds like bette around 06:24 talking about art n architecture...she had mentioned nearly all religions when she talks about researching who/ what God is... not mentioned Islam yet. Wonder if she's read the Quran??? Love JB x
i never knew she was bi-racial----her hair and features look exclusively white. funny how in 1983 it was never mentioned---but in todays politically correct world, it seems to be "in"...
She was talking about her childhood. I doubt she was too tall as a little girl; nor would she have known how tall she'd be as an adult. She's IN wishful thinking mode? As in present tense and not past tense reflecting on a childhood dream?
She's NOT boring! It doesn't help that most interviewers keep asking the same questions such as Flashdance, Flancedance, Flashdance! Although this interview is way better than most. I would like interviewers to allow her to flaunt her intellectual side.
