Of all the actresses that have portrayed Elizabeth Bennett, I think Jennifer Elle has truly grasped what the heroine should be like in Jane Austen’s book. I love the book, and I love the 1995’s version of Lizzy.
Jennifer, your Elizabeth on screen will live for centuries. I wonder if that has ever occurred to you. It is true. This reading cements this. It is wonderfully authentic for your love of the story and Jane Austen. Thank you.
I'm enjoying remembering you, Colin Firth, and the rest of the 1995 cast perform the lines that were used in the mini-series. It's my favorite motion picture of any sort (movie, mini-series, etc.), ever.
Oh Ms. Ehle this is MAGICAL!!I can’t praise and thank you enough for your great performance and portrayal of the beloved and dearest Ms. Elizabeth Bennett in this great Jane Austen’s novel “Pride and Prejudice” mini-series especially, for bringing to life an outstanding character interpretation of the sweetest Ms. Lizzy of all time! And now this? A read-through from the book, it is a gift from the heaven of all novels and performing and acting artists. What you have done is such a very delightful and very memorable act of kindness for doing these reading moments that I will remember and always cherish with all these youtube recordings you made for all of us Pride and Prejudice lovers! I am really a big fan of the novel and most of all of your acting prowess. Again, thank you so much for your valuable time in doing these read-through but more importantly, your generosity and kindness to share these lovely moments with us on-line via RU-vid and rest assured it is highly appreciated! Thank you for bringing us back the memory of your loveliness which you are more beautiful and gorgeous to this date, your beauty is ageless and the wonder of your voice while reading those chapters. Each time I close my eyes while listening to the sound of your voice, its expressions and speech perfection on every word, line, sentence, phrase etc bringing me back to picture the glorious scenes of each episode up to the completion of the full romantic, costumed and well loved drama story ever told to the highest level of story-telling. For me YOU ARE SIMPLY THE BEST! Keep up the excellent work! We love you Cheers!
It is not unbecoming of a CLERRRgyman to impart a dislike upon a RU-vid video, particularly in the service of my most munificent patron Lady Catherine de Bourgh
I wish I had grown up on this story. It would have helped me with choosing my words selectively, carefully and with diplomacy. The first time I saw it (the 80s version), all the subtle communication went completely over my head. It took me many times watching it to begin to pick up the nuances. I have read it now 100+ times in all forms: book, audiobook, and watch both the 80s and 90s versions a few times a year. Your version is sublime, and you are sublime in it, Jennifer. I do wish they had taken more time and effort with the final proposal scene. The director or producer said this and I agree. It was lovely no matter. I grew up with a highly verbal Aussie mother who had no brakes of any kind between her thoughts and her tongue. She was similar to Elizabeth's mother in needing constant parties and entertainments, but very intelligent, curious and up for adventure. My sister said as a kid she thought our mom had a full-time job with the neighbors! 😂🤣🤣 And I grew up thinking everyone spent their childhood expertly making h'orderves and dressing up for posh parties, holidays, celebrations.💍🎉🍾👗🎁💄🥂🎉👒👡🥂🎉👗🛍🍾👜🎉👢👛🎉💫🍾🥃👒🎁🥂👗🎆
Thank you so much for this! It’s amazing to hear you slip so quickly from your American accent to your English; I never would have thought American was the more natural to you especially considering your ‘95 performance! What a wonderful thing to do during quarantine, I feel so lucky to be able to listen to this!
You are awesome, thank you so so much 🥺❤️ you can’t imagine how happy you have made me since quarantine, I hope you’re doing well and take care. This story wouldn’t have the same impact if it weren’t for you and colin. It will always have a very special place in my heart ❤️
I have just found these readings and love it. I have watched the 1995 version for the first time 2 years ago. and only just read the book. Thank you for reading this as I can picture lizzy saying her lines.
I love your creative and genius way of putting narration out there! It must’ve been easier to read for regular audiobook but it is not for everyone. Not everyone especially in this tough time can easily look up to find her narration and afford the audiobook. Thank you.
Thank you so so much for these. I have uni assessments to do and having these to listen to while writing them is honestly the best. So calming and charming to listen to!
I'm convinced that Mr. Darcy is NOT Arrogant and aloof, but takes awhile to get to know people, and warms up once he grows more comfortable with people. He admitted at Rosings to Lizzy and Col. Fitzwilliam to not having the ease of manner that most people have. He's Shy in a situation away from home & people he knows well!! Yes, he had a bit of prejudice regarding "the savage" company to be found around Netherfield, but he still kept visiting his friend Bingley there.
In the BBC production, Darcy commented that Jane's reserve kept him from realizing that she was in love with Bingley, but in the Regency era, young women were not supposed to show their feelings in public. They weren't supposed to wear their hearts on their sleeves.
Well, there are also Caroline Bingley and Mrs. Hurst, and by now Lydia probably has learned the magnitude of her social faux pas with Wickham. Poor Lydia is probably the 12th YT account😳🤷😁
