Yes I agree. At first, I was jealous of Meghan because my husband had a crush on her. After watching this movie, I saw another side of Meghan. She is funny, she can make me feel for the character "Jennifer", and can be down to earth. Because of the media... I only saw the "drunk" or "out of control" Meghan. The men that hurt Meghan didn't want the truth to come out just another negative story to distract or hurt her integrity. I like that Meghan talked about being a mother and how hard it is to be a mother in the industry/ get a minute to breast pump.

I genuinely feel sad for her. Anyone who bothers to listen to her for five minutes could tell she's perceptive and wary. She's a person with feelings who has been reduced to just her appearance on a daily basis, and that's made her have to toughen up to preserve her self-esteem and avoid further exploitation. She's kind of forced to be defensive or avoidant because of the superficiality of others.

If Jennifer's Body was released at this day and age, it would be a big hit. I think a lot of people will appreciate the movie deeper than what it was and can understand and dissect parts of the movie that caught their attention. @@gee2541 some of the humor was corny . And it wasn’t scary enough to be a memorable horror movie but it was the first in many ways in female horror and the story was original enough . Jennifer didn’t want anyone else to have needy and was too insecure and didn’t want needy to have anyone because she couldn’t comprehend why she who had it all, was worthless to everyone . I can understand that certain women probably should be dismissed from being a part of feminism for a multitude of justifiable reasons, but you shouldn't deliberately call attention to those people or demean them, because then it's an example of using feminism as a weapon rather than a tool. And Megan wasn't included because of the slut shaming side of feminism as well as the side that says that you have to be perfect all the time, two sides that are not justifiable in the slightest.

There are groups within feminism that act super elitist and hypocritical. I've seen it many times. They're not interested in defending all women, only the ones that hold the same beliefs as them. What's worse is in some cases, it is not even about being puritanical about beliefs, but a lack of acceptance that someone may be a feminist and hold the same or very similar values to you, but just look different... Ironically, and hypocritcally, this brand of feminism becomes just as shallow as what it is trying to condemn

Diablo Cody sat there pretending that she genuinely believes her movie was mis marketed to "frat boys" who want to see more boobs, while previously stating she very deliberately cast Megan Fox. First of all, that's probably a very large audience for horror movies in general, then u add Megan to it & that's OBVIOUS to a 5 year old that those "frat boys" r the majority of her audience. She's either trying to pretend that she doesn't/didnt realize that, or even worse, she not only realized it but was banking on that to make her movie a huge box office hit. The fact u can observe her intellect in this video, mixed with everything else tells me this woman is dishonest. & a huge part of the inequality problem between men & women in Hollywood! It was simply a bad movie, & very few people enjoyed anything about the actual movie as a whole. To pretend that u made an incredible masterpiece that is just underappreciated because it was mis marketed is what gives men a reason to under value woman! Because only any IDIOT wouldn't realize who the audience is going to be for a horror movie starring Megan Fox, & to pretend she doesn't know or that it wasn't actually a strategic move on her part makes her a LIAR. & of course men r gonna look down on "idiots" & "liars," therefore look down on woman! Please be a better example for woman in Hollywood, & just woman in general!!!

It’s honestly exactly like Marylin Monroe. A big part of what started to drive her nuts in the end was proving she was a good actress (and she actually was).... She started going to acting schools and hardcore serious acting classes.... with like regular people who were hoping to get to her position!!!! I used to wonder why Megan kind of disappeared at like seriously around 25.. but I get it. They’d have been terrible to her if she continued and just rode out the “sexpot” thing bc the SECOND she had one wrinkle or looked a little different from surgery or whatever theyd be like “FOX NO LONGER HAS ANYTHING TO OFFER!” It’s weird- it’s almost like there’s a cutoff for being beautiful. Up to a point, it makes your life easy and you get whatever you want.... but past a certain point.... everyone is jealous of how beautiful you are so they literally won’t ALLOW you to have anything else. It’s like past a certain point people refuse to take you seriously.

I remember the promotional trailers and posters, my mum wouldn’t let me go because she thought it would be a soft porn, I guess you could compare to 50 shades of grey so my older friend hustled me in. My friend and I were Amanda and Megan fans which is why we went, we raved about the movie for weeks afterwards and weren’t disappointed at the theatre but the blokes who went expecting transformers or soft porn or whatever walked out on the movie.

A MCU role is not a universal remedy imo. Marvel fans can be the most entitled douchebags when something doesn't go their way. So sad, really. Feminism has so much room for women like Megan but the problem is that the word gets hijacked by people who want the credibility but don't want to put in any of the work to truly understand it and understand the theory... which would clearly include _all_ women. Intersectional feminism - sex-positive feminism... it's not just a hashtag that started on Tumblr. People don't get it. There is LOADS of room for women like Diablo Cody and Megan Fox - in fact there is a void in it that very much needs them and their voices.

I agree! Feminism is for ALL WOMEN! And if women decide to turn another woman away because she is seemingly gorgeous and “perfect”, then they are not real feminists! We are all in this together!

I’m loving this interview. I just wanted to share how much I loved this movie when I was a teenager, I wasn’t aware of the controversy, not even until these days, but I remember thinking how fresh, amazing and feminist it was. Now I really need to re-watch it.

It was a "commercial failure" but I loved it since the beginning. It was just...not the right time for it. And for all the crap Megan has put up with over the years, she's one that I've always respected. She was an object from the second she was put on film/screen and it's disgusting that so much agency was taken from her.

Crazy how Megan Fox thinks feminists wouldn’t want her involved and thinks there isn’t a space for her in the movement. She doesn’t realize that to many people she is now considered a feminist icon. Probably has to do with how she doesn’t check social media which is imo a GREAT choice of hers, but if I ever meet her in person (and don’t immediately pass out), I’ll be sure to mention that she is pretty much a feminist icon, because she deserves to know, especially with everything she’s been through in the industry.

So many women at the time loved to shit on her bc she was always branded as a promiscuous vixen who was made for men. Feminism was still heavily looked down upon and the only voices that ever spoke up were in opposition to her. Honestly Diablo Cody was probably the only woman in the industry that took her seriously at that time.

Michael Bay did her dirty, and I think that was the start of her being "blacklisted and bashed." Megan is great and deserves to be at the top, hope to see her in some good roles soon.

Megan pulled a "Constance Wu" on the Transformers franchise after she cashed her check. Michael Bay defended his work and franchise, nothing more.

@@Kidsinamerica this is aboslutely not true and since u wanna talk about constance it breaks my heart that shes 30+ has been in the industry for years and wants to branch out but is trapped in a show that has had 0 development in years . women can never catch a break without being called a diva

Constance Wu is making MILLION$ of dollars bringing an Asian-centric, Asian-created, Asian-written and Asian-cast TV show to primetime America. It's a smash-hit. FULL STOP. The fact that you don't recognize that monumental achievement, and respect it, doesn't bode well to your comment. Wu was stupid in her comments, and had to walk them back. Megan did the SAME THING - she bad-mouthed the very people who gave her fame, wealth, and opportunity that most-all of us will NEVER have. In case you forgot, Transformers was a block-buster hit and without that movie, Megan Fox wouldn't be half the 'movie star' she is now.
