When she is Jenny the designer she is admirable, the queen deserving of the crown. But when she wants a guy or have crush on someone she is such a snakey person. I like her without any guy issues.
This is such a good take. When it came to her career/ networking success she was there almost purely due to her hard work. It was alluded to when Blair was trying to get into Yale at first that the teachers may have inflated her grades along the way. And Jenny got where she was without having rich parents and while having a boss whose daughter despised and tried to sabotage her. When it came to boys and social climbing that’s when her worst character traits came out, but when she stayed in Brooklyn she actually started realizing she could reach her full potential. Imo she actually had some of the best character evolution on the show.
Yeah I was really irritated when she was going crazy over Nate, just generally when she’s jealous she gets really dramatic. Like turning everyone against Serena out of jealousy is just stupid.
its cause the actress (taylor momsen) didn't like the role so she agreed to stay on if the style was adapted to fit her so that the press wouldn't confuse the two 💗
Jenny.was someone who had talent,she came from nowhere, took risk ,was impulsive but also someone who owned everypart of life , she developed her skills, was not born privileged,worked hard to get to top, learned fashion by practicing,had her own fashion style although she could have copied Blair or Serena..., identified Blair as her role model coz she understood working hard to get something is more important than getting anything easily like Serena ..
Thats the only truth, She became too powerful in the end, I mean it only took her one episode to ruin Serena and she won against Blair in the Tim Gunn episode, S4 Jenny was in another level TBH
@@Escajesus She only beat Blair because she was fighting with Chuck at that time. The minute they got back together she would have been done for. And i still think that all her schemes work only because Blair and Serena were more calm and laid back than when they were in power at constance. Ps : In this particular scene She only won against the other girls because Damian offer her the bags. If not were would she have found the money to fight against all those rich heiresses.
@@pimaster5949 I think S4 1rst part showed she doesn't really need money or status to put up a fight, either way she'll find a way, that's what I've always liked abut Jenny, she is resourceful and thinks on her feet, examples that come to mind: when she got out of trouble when she stole the jacket in the sleepover episode, or the episode where she got the Valentino back from the pawn store, or where she thought of sewing pills into a jacket to get them in a highly secure place, or where she thought of using socialites as models when Blair sabotaged her own mother's show. I tend to be on Jenny's side because my favorite character are her and Georgina, and they remind me a lot of each other, G got herself a man with money to finance her schemes, Jenny did the same in S1 with Asher. But i must agree on the fact that Chuck and Blair together are a force, the only people i know could defeat them in series would be Bart, if he hadn't died and Jack B

Where was her skimmed when Agnès destroy her design ? Ps : I have to admit also that I liked Jenny at first but I started hating her when she stole the Valentino dresse and was force back in the girl group friend because Nate pressure them. But even then I rooted for her when she started her first collection and her father wouldn't support her.
she was so young and easily one of the best actors honestly all the OG gossip girl actors were great in their roles especially comparing them to the reboot cast..
I’ve always loved Jenny because she was generally a nice person. She made mistakes and I love her character for that because it showed that we all make mistakes, somehow it made her more real too, not to mention how iconic she is
I agree, she's very real. Can be seduced to the dark side and forget herself for a hot minute, but is ultimately a good person who cares about her morals.
this is unpopular but i really liked jenny's character and resonated w her a lot. i was this "poor" kid in a private school who desperately wanted to fit in (thankfully i did have good friends). she was younger than everyone else, so i understand the edginess too. i wish nate and her/serena were endgame
Me too. Shes easily one of the most relatable characters on the show. She's also the only one who actually worked hard for what she got. Her actions really weren't any worse than anything the ither characters have done. Her only crime was being whiny and annoying 😂💀

jenny was one of the best characters ever. she worked so hard for everything only for it to be ruined by blair, elanor, serena, agnes and rufus. she created her social life from ground up and was even more powerful than blair at one point. nobody likes jenny because the show portrayed her as a poor wannabe when infact she was so much more than that

EXACTLYYY. Jenny was that girl and actually worked for everything she got. blair would always try to come and ruin whatever jenny had going on for some petty reason and out of insecurity. People always say "jenny coukd never beat blair" when we've seen her beat blair multiple times and jenny was both the queen of the UES and the current UES it girl while blair was just a loser at nyu taht had faded into irrelevance
She was also ruined whenever she had feelings for a guy who didn't feel the same way, and she would sabotage everything for the guy in question. I admire the Jenny character, and she was one of my favourites, but the best thing she did was move away because as she said it in season 4, when she's around those people, she just turns into a horrible person that doesn't align with her inner values
Jenny was one of the best characters on the show. Had great lines, character development, and was focused on her goals. If you find her annoying but root for Blair, then I don’t understand you. Blair is my another beloved character but she WAS rude. Had Jenny been a character on other show, she’d have been adored for her brave decisions. But here, on GG, she’s not the audience favourite because she’s not rich enough like Blair to follow in her footsteps. Unnecessary hate towards her makes me cringe.

I kinda like her 😂 yes shes problematic but she kinda has this edgy kate moss 90s supermodel rockstar girlfriend vibe thing that adds a fresh little je ne sais quoi to the typical upper east side / constance queen. She has more of a celebrity it girl vibe than just the basic, elite, private school queen bee. Idk its charismatic in that y2k bad girl kinda way. I think jenny was a great queen after blair’s era.

Blair and Serena will always be better characters because of their friendship, charisma and personalities. Jenny is kinda giving a wannabe gothic Blair. I also think Blair and Serena have better backstories and are way more interesting
Jenny was amazing character - talented, very smart with interesting realistic character development and many ups and downs. She could've ruled the whole upper east side. Too bad Taylor Momsen chose a different career path and writing off the character wasn't the best... But I get it. Her passion is in music, not acting and writers wanted more drama

Look, Jenny did some messed up things to Nate, Serena, Eric, Dan and even her own father. I partly understand why she harmed Blair and Chuck but that gave her no right to go sleep with Chuck. I think it’s admirable how far she rose but I still think that her overall personality is kinda trash. Jenny singlehandedly ended all the ships from S3: Serena + Nate, Dan + Vanessa and most especially Chuck + Blair. To be fair, Chuck and Serena were already very messy towards Nate and Blair(chuck selling blair out for the hotel, serena keeping secrets from nate and sleeping in one bed with Dan), and Dan and Vanessa were LDR. Unfortunately, Jenny's GG tip was the one that toppled them all + Jenny sleeping with Chuck. This is no way of hating Jenny btw just how things happened.
