OMG, I was already laughing so hard ,but when he said I can't see out of my left eye....then he goes that's my eyebrow when jerry was reaching for the strand..I totally lost it ...my gf thought I was in pain..I was literally crying I was laughing so hard...pure genius
Right. Here I am BY MYSELF watching this thing and crying quietly - so I don't burst out laughing uncontrollably! Comic genius here. There'll only be one Jerry.
I am home sick with a bad cough and just watched this scene... I laughed so hard I thought I was gonna pass out from lack of air. The other guy was as funny as Lewis. What timing....
Thinking of 'Buddy Love'? He's Jerry Lester, an incomparable comic in his own right. Also, the original host of the 'Tonight Show' , just before Steve Allen.
omg. Jerry Lewis is hilarious. I laughed so hard my sides hurt. My dad introduced me to Jerry's films and I haven't stopped laughing since. One of the funniest scenes.
My absolute favorite scene from "The Ladies Man"....Jerry was a comedy genius...who would think putting a hat on a man was so damn funny, but it works so well....I will miss him so much, Rest In Peace dear Jerry .. 💜💕
Yeah and the best about this is that this was actually not scripted and just spontaneously said by Buddy Lester because Mr Lewis accidentally pulled the eyebrow while trying to fetch that piece of string!!! These situation form the true comedy!!!
Movie audiences were probably roaring with laughter during this scene...Nobody milks a gag better than Jerry does and this is one of the most sustained laugh-out-loud moments in the annals of screen comedy...
The actor that plays this scene with Jerry is hysterical! Didn't he also play the bartender in The Nutty Professor? The guy is also a comedic genius!! Thanks for putting this up, I've been laughing all night watching these Lewis clips!!
I can't even, I watched this on the way to my sons funeral. It kept me from getting sick and helped me smile.I wanted to vomit, I think it gave me strengh.:-)
This is one of the funniest scenes I've ever witnessed! An old film that wracks my ribs and the actor playing the tough guy is perfect! Lewis' nervous babbling is amazingly timed and I've felt like that myself on occasion :P Anyone that can make you take yourself a little less seriously is alright in my book :)
I feel in love with Jerry when I was 6 years old sitting with my Aunt Valma. the first movie I saw was Family Jewles and to this day I sill get the same feeling when I see him now I like to watch him with my son
One person says its unfunny and stupid..!!!! I watched this years ago and I've just posted it on Facebook. I think its excellent... I love the guys face .... I'd love to see out takes. The seriousness and contempt he has for Jerry is side splitting. Wish they made these films now. Innocent and childish but funny.
@@ernestogasulla7763 still watching EVERY Jerry's video that is on youtube though! Kind of weird, don't you think so? Why do you torture yourself if you don't like him? LOL
This is such a funny scene with Jerry and Buddy. I still laugh to this day. Good classic comedy is so clean and refreshing. And, it's a shame those days are OVUR. ... "O-V-U-R" ... OVUR! 🗣🎩🤣
One of my all time favorites and still cracks me up since I first saw it, at the Naval Sub Base, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, when I was a kid in the Navy over 50 years ago. The gangster's name is Jerry Lester and he steals the scene as far as I'm concerned. He had a brother (twin I think) who was also an actor. I have the movie on DVD.
Porque ,no pasan sus películas? creo que no estaría mal ,para que esta generación también lo conozca, repiten muchas películas ,en los canales .Jerry Lewis era muy divertido, sanamente.
Another scene that has me rolling every time I see it is in the billiards scene from "Family Jewels." The two actors can't hold in their giggles after Jerry attempts a crazy shot. The giggles start at about 59s in. Type: "Jerry Lewis shooting pool" in the search box (the captions are in Spanish)
I had forgotten about the change of scene where Herbert is intercepted by his matron, then there is the parallel dialogue going on where he frantically goes over out loud the gangster's instructions so he won't forget anything... You know it always happens that way, when you have tons of critical stuff to remember, then of course the phone rings, or someone comes along and tells you about his day... That's brilliantly written and directed, and adds a lot to the effectiveness of the whole sketch, which has been >Cilling< me for something like 45 years!
I have not seen this movie since the late 1960's and I forgot just how funny this scene was. When I watch it now I still laugh so hard that my stomach hurts and I get tears in my eyes. No wonder Jerry had trouble getting through the scene without cracking up. too much. I can only imagine how hard it would be to film such a funny sequence. Classic comedy at its best!
