Hilarious! It doesn't get old with time. It is like Lucille Ball working a chocolate candy line. It starts out slow and fine, and then quickly gets out of control.
the chair "der stuhl" the pants "die hosen" the eyes "die augen" good evening! "guten abend!" be quiet! "schweigen sie!" listen to me! "hoer mir zu!" look here! "passen sie auf" come with me! "komm mit mir" schwuppen de moppen setten "machen sie das bett" ...
You vill see "Vich Vay to the Front?" & you vill laugh!! This was the line used in print ads for this WW2 spoof, which I remember seeing in theater way back in 1970 or so. This was Jerry's last movie for at least a decade until a minor comeback with "Hardly Working" in early 80's, when the country re-discovered his comic greatness & status as a national treasure.
@@danielaschwarz1971 Einst lebte ich in Köln. Allerdings ist das schon eine kleine Weile her. Nunmehr lebe ich in Frankfurt am Main. Dir meine besten Wünsche! 🙋🏻♀️
Loved this guy my whole 50+ yrs of life. When I first saw this I was waiting for the infamous line...."Vhere ar your paypahs?!?!?" I will always do that high pitched voice impression of your's Jerry. When ever I speak with a Joiman accent at work. RIP
lmao, I only searched this because I was thinking of that scene all day! for some reason that it so memorable, absolute quality, and this is definately my favourite Jerry Lewis film. Does anyone know where we CAN actually get this film. DVD or not...
@goldenflower1062 As do I! HIs comedy is timeless but somehow doesn't gibe with today's brand of humor, which is sitcom-smarmy in a self-aware sense, unoriginal, & dating quickly.
Haha. Me too. I watched this movie so many times when i was a kid. Im trying to find that scene where he and the crew are trying to imitate the general's peculiar walk but i cant find it.
Like many others on here I'd love to find the full movie of this gem on here. Or if not the scene with the "riding" dialogue when their car get stopped by the SS. What a crack-up!
Abgefahren.
lol! "Ven you read its with a book, Ven you write its with the pen, Ven you road its with the car. He's got the car, I've got the pen, you've got the book." Something like that. That's also one of the best bits in the film. Oh come on! I've searched my tit's off to find a dvd of this. They had better release it.
...He makes the sandwhich in a mad hurry, then his mother comes in and takes it off him. She looks at it and says: "No Jelly on Mother's Peanut Butter. A Mother is blood, THAT is a stranger!" :D :D :D What a scene! I also loved the idea that he goes into a fit every time he hears the word "rejection". But they only used that at the beginning of the film, they should have carried it on towards the end aswell. At least one of his friends in the film mocks it XD
