From 1994 to 2024 this Track STILL KNOCKS! Primo Cruddy Grimy Beat Jeru Precise Rhymes and Verbal Cadence Flowing on this Track is the Signature of 90’s Classic Hip Hop. I definitely salute this combo … 🫡 “Just For Frontin’ Ya Got Dat Ass Waxed” 💪🏾
Will never forget: did a dj gig that year at a birthday party and when I startet playing this beat EVERYBODY freaked out, like screaming. Was great, thanks, Jeru.
The instrumental is genius at the level that us mere mortals will never comprehend... a level of science and math that makes everything else appear like simple arithmetic. Premo on par with Beethoven and Mozart... only from BK and better. I needed to hear this again in 2020 to remember the work of this master.
@@EWheelsTrue BUT he learned his craft from Queens . Large Professor was his mentor & taught Primo the science . Primo has said on Record NY taught him and he ran with it as he should . He became one of the Elites !
Start from '86 then trek through '99. I say '86 because RUN-DMC, L.L., Ultramagnetic MCs, Masta Ace, EPMD, Special Ed, KRS-ONE & BDP, Rakim, Public Enemy, Kool G Rap, Slick Rick, Compton's Most Wanted, MC Lyte, and MANY dope hip-hop artists broke through in the late 80s throughout the 90s. That period is known as the "GOLDEN ERA OF HIP-HOP". RUN-DMC - The Avenue Special Ed - I'm The Magnificent (remix) KRS-ONE/BDP - Love's Gonna Get You Big Daddy Kane - Ain't No Half Steppin' Compton's Most Wanted - One Time Gaffled Em Up Ultramagnetic MCs - Bait MC Lyte - Paper Thin A Tribe Called Quest - Description of a Fool Freshco & Miz - Ain't You Freshco Public Enemy - Welcome To The Terrordome L.L. Cool J - Going Back To Cali Masta Ace - Go Where I Send Thee EPMD - Strictly Snappin' Necks
I’ll tap ya jaw!…. Ya prolly heard it before!.. step to the bedlamite I’ll prove my word is law!..” is where I first heard Jeru Da Damaja on Gang Starr’s “I’m the Man” and he killed it at the the end after Guru and Lil Dapp did their thing on different beats all fire 🔥 But when this dropped I knew immediately it was Preem!
Lyrical fucking genius raps. With a fucking heavy back track. Fuck. Cursing is meant for emphasis. And sometimes the best word in a moment. But you all know that already. Thank you for... Well, fucking everything.
I see alot of folks commenting on the beat, Primo's beats were/are insane, but none of that would have mattered if Jeru didn't say "That one!". Jeru rode the beat like he heard it in his mama's womb.
I dated this guy for like, a solid year. It was the strangest relationship I've ever been "too" but it was my own life. I was hanging out with like, the Zulu nation and shit. I'm actually in his video, "don't get it twisted"... I loved every moment of it... Except for his RAGING homophobia, which I just thought was "his own gayness" projected. Its so strange, but that was only "internal violence" I saw in him. He LOVED that I was in school and used to tell everyone about it. So nuts, man. Weirder still, he literally saw me one day at the Jamaican festival, that's how we met, and just comes up to me and said, "you'll be my girlfriend"and I say , "I already am" and we like, full body committed to that shit for A FUCKING YEAR. I loved being young. I love partnering with strangers. It's like, a thing I LOVED about myself until I married a psycho.it was going SO WELL, and only padding my delusion that "everyone is trustworthy". Literally, I would meet certain people and just fall in love... Until god sent down a psycho, straight from the devil's hell. Now I'm basically agoraphobic, but it seems so logical
